I looked through the forums and didn't see anything that pertained to what I was looking into. Alright to give you an overview, I have looking into some aspects of competitive Brawl and the game brawl. I have collected some info though nothing is complete yet. I want to share what I have found with others in hopes of finishing what I have started and maybe even coming up with more useful information. The things I have collected are kind of all over the place so you may have to bear with me. I wasn't sure if I had enough to make multiple topics. I also wasn't sure if some of the stuff even warranted their own topic.

Anyway first off and probably most importantly we have run speed.

Character Run speed list

Pretty much I started to work this by building a custom stage that is made up of 18 small blocks. The character would run across the screen and I would time them. Then I would divide by 18 to find out how fast a character Ran 1 block/sec. I only got a few characters done this way. Instead I have been just watching them race against each other to see who either caught up or who starting getting away. Hopefully I would like to get back to getting their times but first I would like a general idea of where each characters speed ranks.

I have completed the preliminary part of the speed test. I will be moving onto the time testing in order to insure accuracy.

That is pretty much all I am sure of right now. I would like to get time data for all the people with equalities. Since some of those I have doubts on..



I am going to have to retest some of my speed test since I can't remember if I got correct times for walking speed.

As you can see I don't have much as far as time data goes. Also I tried to get multiple results so I could average them together into a more accuarate result. It seems I am going to have to go back and redo the results because they are a little too far apart for my taste.

Character Jump Height
I haven't done anything with this as of yet but I would like too. My idea is to make a stage with blocks towering up wards and then see how high each jump is and what the total height is.

Ice climbers jump a little over 2 blocks each jump. They go just over 7 blocks with all jumps and upB.

Pretty much I just Ankoku's ranking list source to find out who was winning tournaments and how much. I haven't quite finished it yet but I should have it completed shortly. I would also like to organize this section a bit.

Pretty much this is just a list of characters and how many of them have been in the top 8 of a tournament. Again based off Ankoku's list. I would like to reorganize this list. Maybe do a little math also to work this into so useful information. I saw one thread that created a statistical tier list for melee that took into account character popularity. So maybe something like that could be possible.

You can test the speed order easily by going into 2 player home run contest and record the distances that each character can run.

How would you go about that? The camera doesn't follow your character. It stays with the sandbag. Do I need a friend to hit the sandbag?

Alright I finished my speed chart. I have some doubts on some of the data. Mostly where Ike is concerned. Some of the characters are real close Like Charizard to Toon Link. More testing will need to be done. When I fix Ike I will probably update the first post.

Thanks for the link I couldn't find it earlier but I was pretty sure it existed. It helps tell me were I may be accurate and where I am looking at incorrect data. I would still like to get blocks per second down.

Anyway the other information needs to be updated. I have been busy but I will get back to all of that.

Of most interest to me, is the pro ranking. Ankoku's got the character stuff on lock, but you can use his tourney list to keep up to date on the winners themselves.
