I don't think you can spike with a Pound, but you can stage spike with a Pound.

I think you have to hit them with Pound on the bottom part of her body. Im not sure if it's timing or DI or what but it seems to also be random.

I'm pretty sure the verdict now is that they have to be DI'ing down.

That is the verdict and its really hard to do. Stage spikes work wonderfully though, try those.
