OVERVIEW:
As some of you may know, SamuraiPanda and I have been running a Smash podcast for over a year now called Show Me Your News (http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=108829), and we’ve just recently released Episode 40 marking the end of season 3 of the podcast. For season 4, we decided to expand and split the podcast into two parts: A general gaming podcast and a Smash only podcast. This Smash only podcast (which has yet to be named) will now become an official SBR podcast. We won’t be sharing much of what goes on in the SBR, but we’ll be podcasting with different members of the Smash Back Room each episode, talking about a different topic every month.

For the first episode, SamuraiPanda and I have decided to start with a debate on the most controversial issue surrounding Smash right now: Meta Knight. I will be moderating the debate and SamuraiPanda will take the neutral position in the debate while fact-checking our guest panel. Rounding out the debate will be four SBR members – two on the “Pro-ban” side and two on the “Non-ban” side. It is possible that one more SBR member may be added on each side to give this controversial subject more coverage. The goal of the debate is to inform the community on the different perspectives of these controversial issues. While the viewer may draw an opinion on who “won the debate,” this format has NO BEARING on what the Smash Back Room will eventually decide regarding the controversial topic.

The focus for this particular episode will be to convince SamuraiPanda, the one neutral participant, which side of the debate is correct. There will be certain "talking points" that we will cover in the debate, such as topics like MK's influence on the future metagame or MK's dominance in tournament placings. Each side of the panel will be given a certain amount of time to make their case to SamuraiPanda, then he will respond, and the other side of the panel will have time for a rebuttal. Bear in mind that this likely only be in effect for the first episode since it's such a vital issue for the community.

We are trying to work with MLG to host the podcasts - after the SWF server move, it has definitely affected the SMYN iTunes feed. They say they are working on a solution, but we'll keep you in touch.
