This is all frame data on how fast each character’s hitboxes come out. The frame speed is based on the ratio 1 frame: 1/60 a second.

A few notes…
*The number of the frame is when the hitbox first appears, meaning that any attack that is set in an arcing motion will not necessarily be there at the end of the move.
*Transformations, Charging moves and moves like “Wings of Icarus” do not create hitboxes, so they are described as “???”
*Charging attacks are not included in these moves, only the moves themselves. For example, DK’s Giant Punch hitbox is only correct if the move is fully charged and does not need to be prepared to do so.
*If you think anything is wrong, notify me and I will change it.
* The information is not 100% accurate, there might be a small margin of error. There may be some small degree of inaccuracy, but it does give us some kind of view on each characters hitbox speed.

This is good **** though.
Hitting on frame 4 is pretty darn fast, considering only jabs seem to be faster from the data given so far, and even MK's own dsmash is slower than ROB's. I know you didn't say it was slow but it's looking like it can't really go any faster without being really ********.

Sad: It took this long for a thread to even be here, and no one will care/choose to utilize the info. =/.

Some solid adv/disadv hits would be nice, but beggars can't be choosers.

I just realized that this is full frame data, not "hitbox come out" data.

Wow, that is retardedly fast.

for reference:

Hit frames: number of frames it takes for a move to come out (and.. hit)

Recovery: Number of frames after having the moved blocked that the move takes to recover (or the opposing player's advantage/disadvantage from blocking it)

Active hit frames: Window of move where the hit box for the attack is "there".

Total/whiff frames: total number of frames for the move to complete (differs from hit+block frames, usually.)

Good stuff, pretty sad that some of the character boards don't have frame data. Any chance you'll add cooldown times, shield frames, shield drop frames, and perfect shield drop frames?

I thought perfect shielding automatically make the block stun 0?


initial hit frames are relatively easy to get, seeing as you have the activator (input) and the response (hit)

recovery and the like is generally harder to get, you have to "de-factor" range and active hit windows (which smash has) makes it all the more complicated.

Wish I had a decent capture card or I would assist.

Lol, I know.

It's just that R.O.B.'s d-smash already seemed so fast that I was like "wow, that's really fast, it's probably 2 frames or something".

So yeah.

Wolfs fsmash comes out in 5 frames not ten. His dsmash has 6 and his usmash in 8 afaik. We already have complete frame data on the Wolf boards (including Shieldstun and grab frames). You should check them out and compare then

I recognize this as that Japanese site; it has the same telltale error (Luigi's forward aerial comes out on frame 7, not frame 8) and the same exclusion of Sonic. I find it hard to believe that happened by coincidence, especially since you have a Mario icon and it was posted about on the Mario boards. It is not okay to post research without citing your sources if it's not original.

The translation you did of it is useful of course; I'm just saying you need to give credit is all. I was able to see that one part of this data that you didn't translate was how fast characters jump. They had data on this for everyone but Falco and Sonic; we can question whether they are accurate of course.

edit: False alarm. It's funny I could've sworn....

Jab, OverB (on the ground) Ftilt and Dtilt check out, so I'm going to go ahead and assume everything else for bowser is correct too.

I havn't tested anything but I am fairly sure that snakes ftilt is 2 frames slower than his jab. Again I havn't tested this but just playing with him makes the jab seem so much faster =/

You said that Pits WoI doesn't have a hit box and thats only half ture, it doesn't have any really damaging hit box it does have a wind push effect then can trigger marths counter, Pits mirrior sheild, Ikes counter and will push players/items away from him. I think that would be what you would wanta time.

Also lol with sheild canceling everyone has an 8 frame landing lag and most if not all of MKs attacks are faster then that so he gains nothing from it =P.

Good data. I checked the ness/lucas stuff against what I remembered from my tests, and at the very least, lucas's tilts line up perfectly, so I trust this data. I'll pull up my thread and check ness's pk flash for you.

PK flash hits on 42.

we're a frame off on jab, dtilt, nair, and dair. I have a faster nair and dair and a slower jab and dtilt.

just checked the lucas data. Some stuff is different, especially Usmash, which is 4 frames slower than what you have, pk freeze, which doesn't matter, and aerials which are between 0 and 3 frames off from each other.
