25 for Mines, 27 for C4?

I tested it out of 3 drops and got the same exact times (rounded to nearest second because of human error)

Drop - Exploded - Time Taken

C4 Testing

Take 1
Drop:98:53
Exploded: 98:27
Time Taken: 26 Seconds (but I dropped it at like 98:54 if I round up; therefore 27 seconds)

Drop: 98:15
Exploded: 97:48
Time Taken: 27 seconds

Drop: 97:23
Exploded: 96:56
Time Taken: 27 Seconds

Take 2
Drop: 98:54
Exploded: 98:27
Time Taken: 27 seconds

Drop: 97:27
Exploded: 97:00
Time Taken: 27 Seconds

Drop: 96:00
Exploded: 95:33
Time Taken: 27 Seconds

"But 6 isn't enough"
It is when you're testing with a dumb SD'ing CPU.... and considering they were all 27 seconds (except the first that was a bit off...) it is safe to assume:

Our C4 lasts 27 seconds before exploding.

I'll get more drops up soon if you don't trust my data + hunches.

Safe to assume, charging your mine makes no difference.

Sweet, good to finally have that cleared up. I wonder why they'd program 27 seconds? Seems like a weird number...

Not sure, but now we know something our opponents don't know.

Don't go near our C4 27 seconds after we place it, and try to throw our opponents into it.

And yea, 27 seconds is a weird number to choose....>.>

*goes to test Mines to see if they have any time limit besides "Snake Dying" or "Proximity"

I can't be positive, but I wanna say they do. I've had mines disappear and I don't remember either of us going over it, or my dying.

Yea, it's already been updated and this is in there.

Useful knowledge for this:

It takes about 2 seconds to lay down an uncharged mine, then drop a c4. Knowing that knowledge ALWAYS PLACE YOUR C4 FIRST because it blows up later.

So:

C4 Drop
then
Mine

Then they will blow up at around the same time

also, in my testing of time of C4 after Snake died, I either got 27 (rounded up) or the C4 just disappeared, do you know what causes it to disappear instead of exploding?

it only happened 6 times during our (me and my friends) testing.

I hate stupid random things that make testing harder

oo thats interesting. so if you like drop a c4, and since its time stock in tourney play, you can see when to throw your opponents into the c4! lol

We tried to recreate it, didn't get any luck, I'll list what we tried:

I let my friend kill me right after I placed it
I let him kill me right before it exploded
an SD right after placement
an SD right before it exploded
an SD right AS it was supposed to explode (took 11 tries)
dying off the top, bottom, or side blast zones
SDing off the top bottom or side
getting killed while attempting to detonate the C4

It just randomly happened 6 times, but not once while attempting to recreate it

I thought it was common knowledge that the C4 timing was slightly less than 30 seconds ^_^''

Doesn't really matter for many Snake players, though. My intuitive sense for C4 is generally accurate within a few seconds. I enjoy catching people with the C4 when it goes off by itself :D

Funny thing the other day, I was playing some friendlies with an MK. I had a c4 on one of the BF platforms. It was getting to around 20 seconds so I just yelled "Now!". He was directly under it and he shields. Nothing happens.

MK player: "Wait...wha?" *unshields*
*C4 explodes*
*I crack up*

If you have a time limit on like you would in a tourney, you could look at the clock and know EXACTLY when it's going to go off.

Good data, i've never cared to time the c4 but its good to know, i woulda had to get around to it eventually because i get tired of it randomly exploding with me on it instead of the opponent lol good job.
