Tournament Rules

All Tournament -

* Outside coaching during a match is prohibited. Any spectator found to be coaching or otherwise purposefully distracting someone playing a match may be removed from the area.
* Bring Your Own Controller. (This is to avoid accusations of "This controller is messed up!) It is Your Responsibility to ensure that it is in proper working condition.
* You must ask one of the Tournament Organizers if you are in another tournament or leaving to the bathroom. Failure to inform the person running that tournament will result in a DQ if you do not show up for your match when called for.

* Stalling is Banned
* *NEW* King Dedede's no-wall infinite chain grabs are *BANNED*. Dedede MUST do a dash in between chain grabs, meaning no walking/nudging chain grabs are allowed either (like on Bowser). Dedede players are allowed to chain grab against a wall, as all walled stages that are on have only temporary walls.
* Suicide KOs – Win goes to the person Initiating the Suicide.
* If timer runes out, the winner is determined by Stock, then by Percentages. If Equaled, a 1 Stock match is played, same Characters and Stage. NO SUDDEN DEATH IS PLAYED OUT.


Set format:
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure. (This will be where a coin is flipped to see who strikes first. Then each player will alternate striking a
stage until there is 1 left. That stage is played first round. THERE IS NO RANDOM UNLESS AGREED UPON)
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counter picks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

Super Smash Brothers Melee Singles Rules

* Items off.
* 4 stock, 8-minute timer
* Best out of 3, with finals best out of 5
* Ties are broken by remaining lives, then %. If both criteria are tied, then the Sudden Death match will be played out.
* First stage is random from the Neutral stages listed below.

* Each player is allowed to reset the random stage once; this forces a new random stage to be picked.
* The loser of the first match will announce a new stage to play on for the next game. The winner will then be allowed to switch characters, followed by the loser. Apply the same logic for the third match (and fourth/fifth when applicable) if there is one. (Advanced Slob Picks)
* No stage may be used twice in a single set if the counter-picking player has already won on that stage, unless the opponent agrees to use the stage again. (Dave's Stupid Rule)
* Double Blind character pick can be called at anytime before the first game of a set starts, and only apply to the first game.
* Each person (or team) may choose one counter-pick stage to be disabled for the entire set at the START OF THE SET, after characters have been chosen but before the random stage has been picked.
* Controller Mods, Glitches (IC Freeze Glitch, Mewtwo Soul Stunner, etc), and tactics used to stall a match (wall-bombing, rising pound), are banned.
* For doubles: Team Attack will be ON, life stealing allowed.

Itachi is good. In the right hands he might seem broken, but there are characters that can face him 1 on 1 in this game. Like Temari, Ultimate Nine Tails Naruto, and guess what, Kabuto too! Yeah Kabuto got a massive upgrade for this version! ;D

Dark Kakashi, do you think you could stress people bringing TVs? The last Screenz tourney didn't have many

I'll be there.

I know the lack of TVs was a problem they already have like 7 TVs there for casual gaming through out the week when we go Friday nights for sessions there. So the TV lack won't be a problem. but I would still recommend people to take some. But I won't heavily rely on them now, since i know what happened last time. That is why Screenz got extra TVs to have during tourneys from now on.

Hey Kakashi, can you do a Brawl Championship like you are doing with Naruto? Like a monthly thing? That would be awesome!

I could. At the moment I don't know.
It would obviously require me to do monthly tournaments for Brawl. Which atm I was thinking of doing just 1 every 2 months. But if people think they can show up monthly I can actually do it for Brawl and run Monthly tournaments for Brawl where you earn points depending where you place and top 5 get prizes in the Championship event in July.

I'll think about it. I guess you guys can decide on that as well.

I'll take your guys' input on it and see if I do it starting with this Tourney.

I might end up going for this. Put me on a maybe list. =]

Also, I'd prefer the 24th since I'll have a place to crash that day. =\

Oh and DK, that championship idea is AMAZING. If you do, count me in as a definite.

OK, so I decided to do the Championship Idea for Brawl as well.

Basically, this tournament will be the first of 7 Monthly Tournaments were people will start earning points. The Championship Event will be in July. The Naruto Championship Event already has confirmed people from California and New York. We shall see how many we can get for a Brawl one. The July Championship Event will net people Double Points, so the more tournaments you enter the more points you will earn. I am discussing the prize for the July Event. The Naruto one is already going to be sponsored so I am going to look for some sponsors for the Brawl one as well.

I will add a separate post to the main post explaining the points given to the placers and how that is going to work out.

Also I am going to start doing Main Event Matches at these for both Naruto and Brawl.

The Main Event Matches are pretty much like Feature Matches. They will be done one after another and the participants can wager what ever they want in those matches. Also since we have a sound system, we can do Introductions for these Main Event Matches and the participants can bring in their own Music and we can play them as we introduce them, I WILL RECORD THESE INTRODUCTIONS AND ENTRANCES!

So yeah, they are going online. ^_^

Also, I will have a Trophy for both Naruto and Brawl, as a sign of the Current Champ. That Trophy will be on the line starting February, cause this initial one will determine the current Champs of each Event. So the trophy will be on the line by the current Champ and the Number 1 Contender. Should be a good way to spice some things up.

I will work on getting everything done by this Tournament. So everything Starts on time.

Both Trophies for Naruto and Brawl will be at this Tournament and will be awarded to the 1st place winner's of each Tournament and will be put on the line at the following Tournaments. I will see what system I do to determine the Number 1 Contender for those.

Hope everyone has a good time and tomorrow I will announce what Date won so I can tell you guys the confirmed date for the tournament. ^_^

I still have to work what I am going to do with the Main Event matches, but they are essentially the most Hyped matches. This is not limited to Finals, though they will be Featured matches as well. But essentially this will focus on High Wager Money Matches, a Challenge for the 1st Place Trophies, Crew Battles, etc. Stuff like that.

Oh, and a question about the fees. I looked at the fees for the last tournament, it said "$10 for brawl singles". I go to pay, and it was $20? Uhh...what will be the definite price tag for admission?

I believe crazn137 answered for me. But I am working with the venue for a new Venue Fee, hence why the Venue fee atm is TBD. I am trying to get it lowered than $10.

Your welcomed. I am just trying to spice some things up. I already ordered the Trophies for Naruto and Brawl so people can see them come tourney time. I might just take a pic and stuff like that to post when they are done. They will have extra stuff on them so people know what game they are for and also borrowing ideas from a friend, they will have unique Titles on the trophies. lol

OK, cool, so would it be like 1 trophy for the whole monthly championship, and then each 1st place winner gets to take it but then they have to win it back to keep it? Am i understanding you right? Like a "defend your title" kind of thing? That's be cool.

Yeah I will update all the threads tonight. The winning date is January 24th!
I will start on scheduling everything tonight. And hopefully have a schedule up by this weekend.
