Ness Guides:

~"PK Cross: An Advance Ness Guide"-By Earthbound360
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=169865

This takes a lot of explaining. It is just what it says a advance guide to Ness. The difference, this guide is a step above the rest. This is maybe one of the longest guides i've ever seen, so if you are ready to read a wall( like the one around china) of txt look no further. But this is one of the best and most detailed guides around. So for anyone who wants there ness to be taken seriously you better make a nice long pilgrimage here...

~"Mother's Boys-The Ness and Lucas FAQ"-by Aevin
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=160513

This one is very special. It outlines the key differences between Ness and Lucas. And it goes into depth about them both, from all of their attacks to their Advance Strategies. So if your looking for a new character to play, or just a very good and informative read, this is a great stop.

~"Yoshi's Guide to Pk style: A Ness Guide"-By .Yoshi
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=156577

A great starting place for any trying to pick up Ness as a character. It is simple, very informative, moves to move advance stuff towards the end, and has lots of pretty pictures lol.

~"A Guide to Common PK Thunder "Mindgames"~By xoxokev
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=211169

A advance guide to using Ness' Up B(PK Thunder). It is a little short but you have to see it. Its has a lot of good techniques for getting off Ness' PKT2 as we (And videos for them as well). The thread is ALWAYS being updated so check now and later to make sure no new tactics have come up that you don't know about

~"Ref's Ness guide"-By Ref
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=197824

You can Always count on Ref. This is his Ness guide. It is, as anything done by him accurate, and informative. And it covers SO MUCH of everything about Ness. From ALL of his moves, to a lot of his strategies. To Stages for him, Even to character match-up. So as a aspiring Ness player(Which we all are) This guide is a must read

~"A list of the characters Ness can mess with when they have to recover"-by _clinton
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=206544

Another reliable source of Ness information,Clinton. Here he gives in ratings from 1-5 how easy it would be to gimp each characters recovery.Along with that, he give the move that can be used to do so. It is a work in process

~"The Next Step for a Competitive Ness"-By CanadaKid91
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=209190

A kinda dead thread, but note-worthy nonetheless. It is a guide to becoming a good COMPETITIVE Ness. It goes over his weaknesses and how to overcome them. I'm guessing it is still a work in progress.

~"The Complete Guide to PK Jibaku Death"-By Uffe
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=207404

Yes the name is funny and weird, but the thread itself is to be taken very seriously. It shows the % needed for EACH character to be killed by PKT2, from close and long range.

~"Ness Video Thread"-By Levitas
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=140239

Why not start the videos section with the Ness video thread. This thread has a very decent collection of Ness videos. Put into a nicely organized sections, so finding the player and character is very easy. So if you are looking for Ness Vids stop here first.

~ "Ness video critique thread"-By Levitas
http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=232497

Another very useful thread by the person we all look up to and respect our own "moony" moderator( =) funny right ), Levitas. Are you tired of all of the "critique my video" threads well we have our fix to the situation right here by him making a neat spot to dump them all for our critical eyes to view. So if your looking for improvement or to give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism this is your place

Didnt we have another one like this at one point? Apparently its dead now, so this'll be good. But you can dig around for that topic to get some important threads.

And this'll be good since over the dead time for me, a bunch of guides seemed to have popped up.

Hyper Ness needs moar notice.

Now that it is stickied, you should put a "READ BEFORE POSTING NEW THREADS" like sign, so we can kill two birds with one stone (or in this case, two stones with one bird if you catch my drift ).

He has no chance proving that Meta Knight is less/more broken then he already is. Ness just sucks vs Meta.
Completely wrong look at the Ness match up chart okay? Ness has one of the most decent Match ups against MK than most characters....

According to the stickied Ness Matchup Discussion its 60:40 Meta Knight.

I'm looking for people that may actually place MK at a disadvantage.

Diddy Kong
Snake

That's all I've really gotten so far.

Plus you ignored my other two points.

What? Ignored? I just merely pointed out what was completely wrong. I didn't quote the other two because they could be right...

Anyway you are free to come and go as you please. Really... Nobody is stopping you from leaving...

60-40 doesn't mean a character sucks against another one... Just means they are at a playable disadvantage.

Actually, may I compile a list of testable things...
  • Pivot Grab Range (specifically vertical range)
  • Shield Scrape angles in which it goes through the shield (would like some help)
  • PKT2 ledgebounce conditions (although we think we got this one)

PKT2 may be able to poke MK's shield, seeing as a lot of moves do. I'm not sure how to pull it off consistently though.

Yes, Havokk, you can come and go as you please. But saying that you ditched us DOES bring hostile thoughts into our minds. You are not a Ness main, so you don't have put your effort into our character - i.e. "testing things". If you're that interested in Diddy/Snake why don't you main them instead of maining random. I mean you don't have to come in here and say that Ness sucks [against Metaknight]

First part has a thread somewhere, I can find it.

Shield poking is done by hitting a character where their shield is, their shield has to mildy be weakened as to reveal pieces of their character. Then just aim for what you can see outside of the shield, and it may shield poke.

Explain further what you mean by ledgebounce.

If you knew why I tested things, etc. You wouldn't say that. I'm interested in Diddy/Snake only as possible -true- MK counters, with a little bit of work. I main Random because it allows me to see inside of each characters working playstyles, what they do during certain conditions, how they are played, their pro's and con's, advanced techniques that may help, their current metagame, does anything work thats not well known? Is there something unique I found during testing that they didn't know? Is there something I could make common knowledge, so we may exploit that?

I basically go around every single board, but the Meta Knight board searching for the character that stands the best chance at bringing Meta Knight down to his knees. I can't quite help any characters, or not seem like a noob, unless I play them all.

Certain boards have lost me as a member due to non-MK-related reasons. (Specifically the Link Boards)

Ledgebounce happens when you slide up the right side of the field, but I cant help but get the feeling he meant ledgebend.

Ledgebend is when you shoot PKT2 at a very strict angle and point on the right side of a stage ledge and instead of sliding across the top or sweetspotting, you bounce upwards still doing PKT2 at sometimes odd angles.

BTW, I'd like to report a VERY odd ledgebend in which I actually ricotched BACK in the direction I came, but at a much higher angle. Imagine me coming it at a 40 degree angle and bouncing back in the same direction at about an 80 degree angle. I never knew it could send you the way you came.

I know it wasnt a crash because I was still doing PKT2 and I didn't spin out.

EDIT: Nvm, I'm going to ask in the Q&A thread

Sorry... I didn't know where else to put this that wasn't the matchup thread, I don't want anybody getting confused as to what is the actual purpose of the thread was... Plus I thought I could revive this thread since I saw the last post was a month ago, and the last update log going even further break... maybe you guys have to add more...

http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=226950&page=10

...

Please take a good look at it, the OP, and from there please discuss what is your opinion on the topic at hand... anything goes, but you had better bring something to back yourself up or things may get frustrating...

...

I repeat, this is anything but a matchup thread, so don't get confused...
