Naaaaaaaaah. He didn't 5 stock me. That was the agreement.

I did ironically get eliminated by him at the tournament though. He took me out, so no excuses there.

Next tournament I'll do better, I won't have my mind on running things as much since people will already be used to the idea and I'll be able to focus a bit more on playing.

Good tournament everyone! :)

Yeah but you mained Meta Knight significantly enough to where those shouldn't really matter. You played absolutely every one of your out of pool matches with MK if I remember correctly.

If you want to though I can change you to (Meta Knight / Snake)

My thoughts exactly pools should only be done for larger tournaments since its time effiecent at that level and is practical.

Most of us are from the border, I myself live in Mexico actually.

And to the rest of you, there were a lot of people who weren't very good and without pools they wouldn't have gotten many rounds in. With pools everyone gets at least 10 matches (in 5 people groups) and at least they get their moneys worth. It's just a nice way to make sure everyone has an enjoyable time at the tournament, and in fact Pools is probably the most time-consuming than the rest.

yes they have a great melee scene. i dont no about their brawl scene but they had a big turn out for smash mex 6(i went on melee day so i dont no). the smash-mex tourny series is great, my favorite tournies that i have been to. they r real friendly and such. as for posting on smashboards a couple do but they had their own smash forum (smash-mex). i dont no if its back up or not. so yeah mexico tournys r too fun.

With a bracket however there is more time for friendliesMONEY MATCHES
fixed. lol.

yo man check your messages, get with me and we can talk about the next tourney

ask anyone who went to my tourneys, plenty of matches for everyone and very fair pairing system (its similar to the one they use for magic the gathering tourneys)

I'll keep running mine thanks. :)

I take suggestions though, so if there is anything that needs improvement just tell me. Sorry that my first tournament didn't tailor to absolutely every single one of everyone's needs. lol

Anyway next tournament will have refreshments and much larger prize rewards so woot!

double elim= tourny standard. who cares if people "wont get their moneys worth" if they suk they deserve to go 2 and out. there is always friendlys.
round robin takes too long and pools only if u have too many people.
the swiss system is probably what ur looking for, its what thomas is talking about its used mostly in trading card tournies.

also me and gobz = best TOs evar.

Yes, basically. Brawlfest 2 is coming around and having all the results from Brawlfest 1 and 2 in the main thread would be too cluttered. So as the tourneys keep going we will basically just have the most recent results up in the main thread and all of them archived here.
