Tournament Games and Rules!

Super Smash Brothers Brawl Singles/Doubles on Nintendo Wii System (Championship Series Points will be Earned)

Doubles will be run in a double elimination bracket.

Singles will first have pools, followed by a 32-person bracket. Points nor previous placement will guarantee you placement into the bracket.

Rules

* 3 Stock.
* 8 Minutes.
* Best 2/3 Matches.
* All Finals Best 3/5 Matches.
* Team Attack ON (Doubles).
* Life Stealing Allowed (Doubles).
* Items are set to "off" and "none."
* In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors.
* In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion; whoever wins the RPS will choose first, then the opposing team will get their ports, and then the teammate of the RPS winner will get the last port.
* If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage. NO SUDDEN DEATH WILL BE PLAYED OUT.
* Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
* King Dedede's standing infinite and walking/nudging chain grabs will be banned. Any chain grab done with King Dedede MUST include a dash between each grab. Standing infinites include: the no-wall infinites on Samus, Mario, Luigi, and Donkey Kong; the ledge infinite on King Dedede, Bowser, Wolf, etc; the walking nudging chain grab on Wario, Ganondorf, Wolf, Bowser, etc. Any chain grabs done in place on moving platforms or against a wall are legal, as these are only temporary stage-specific occurrences and no legal stages have permanent walls. This rule does not prohibit any form of grab release set ups, combos, infinites, etc.
*Suicide Move Rules: (all situations are when both players are at 1 stock)
*(A)If a player successfully ends the match with either Bowser or Ganondorf's over B attack by suicide, then the player who initiated the move MUST have the advantage in Percentage to win.
*(B)If a player ends the match by swallowing with Kirby or DDD and falling off the stage and the game counts it as a tie, the player who initiated the swallow move MUST have the advantage in Percentage to win. If the player who was swallowed is shown as winning the match (in the instance the broke out right before they died which some people might not notice), then they win.
* In both cases, if the person Initiating the Suicide Move is Losing in Percentage, that person Loses the Match.

* You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.
* Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.
* Stalling is banned. Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs most end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling. If there is an issue, pause the game and call a TO over to screen the match.
* If you use any controller styles that use the wiimote you will be responsible for removing the batteries in between your matches. Failure to do so can result in a DQ.

Set format:
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure. (This will be where a coin is flipped to see who strikes first. Then each player will alternate striking a stage until there is 1 left. That stage is played first round. THERE IS NO RANDOM UNLESS AGREED UPON)
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counter picks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

OMG this is during my Spring Break, I'll try and come to this for Brawl Singles (put me down as a maybe); if I can go, I'll bring a setup for Brawl. I might be able to bring over a friend who would be interested in going to SFIV and TvC as well.

Just out of curiosity, why is Akamaru banned in Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen 4?

Also, if enough pople want it, would you consider holding a Melee tournament as well?

Akamaru and Karasu are joke characters who cannot be hit by supers and have special properties the rest of the cast do not. They don't even have a full move set. They are banned not because they are good, but because they're not complete characters.

Really, we *could* allow them, but that's the way they've always been.

Melee can be run only as long as it doesn't interfere with brawl. Melee people would have to bring their own set ups and CANNOT use brawl set ups.

Brawl Singles + Doubles

Maybe something else if I feel silly enough.

And put me down for a full Brawl set-up. Though, there were complaints that the TV I brought had lag(it was the 20"-ish widescreen one). It doesn't usually lag for me, but I'm thinking it was because it was not hooked up with component cables last time. I'll have to look into it regardless. If it is a problem though...maybe you can use it for one of the other games? *shrug*

You keep timing these with big melee events...
I know what you mean.

The schedule I had for these were planned in advanced before I announced the first tournament. I was looking around and seen what other tournaments were going on at the time and decided on those dates.

For the record I am mostly doing my tournaments at the end of the Month, so any of the last 2 weekends of a Month are the ones I am looking to schedule these events.

I knew FBT6 was on the 21st of March, so I decided ahead of time to work around it, and do it the weekend after it.

April I am doing the same I am looking at either April 18 or April 25.

Thing is my schedule was made prior to Melee having a Circuit, and once the Melee Circuit was announced my tournaments started to overlap.

I do want to have Melee, I saw Kish Prime at this last tournament and had Melee set up and people were playing it all day.

According to the new Schedule I have I can run Melee at a later time like 6 or 7PM. So If people want to have a Melee tournament we can do it, we just need set-ups.

Just like how the Brawl players brought set ups and made the tournament so much faster, I would need Melee set ups. I can help with bringing my Melee disc, I can probably even bring a full Melee Set up. I just need to see how many people will be interested to see if I do it.

You should have asked!

Only Quik and Arty have ever asked for their free sodas in the last two tournaments...

You need to speak up! =p

Wait, free sodas for 4th? You don't get free sodas if you get money. Even if you did, all that was left was diet coke with lime.

I need to fix pay outs for some tournaments, they aren't complete.....

i'm lazy atm... s expect that fixed by tomorrow.... =p

Basically, pay outs are, you will get a percentage of the Pot, or get paid what you paid to enter the tournament, or get a free soda. that goes for every single tournament. And SF4 might also get a pay out to more than just top 3. I have to work on it. =p

I know its not your fault, dates overlap often. I would just like to head to another one of these sometime.
I saw the schedule for the Melee Circuit, I will schedule the April one around that. I would not mind having Melee as a tournament there again. It got a pretty nice turn out last time.

Once I get a definite date i will post it, but April looks like the 25th, if you think that sounds fine, not sure though atm. I am looking at the schedules of all the other tournaments going on as well, cause some do overlap others.

The second post containing the Over All Point Rankings has been updated with everyone that has entered so far. You can double check if you want and can tell me if I missed anything there.

Hope to see you all at the end of the Month.

I will be doing some traveling this month, so I might see you all throughout the month. ^_^

Meh, I'd rather not use my car for this one so soon after fudge 6. Mainly because of my parents throwing *****fits over stupid ****.

Perhaps the following one, these are basically nice monthly tourneys right?
