This rocks.

The most interesting thing I saw was that fair has 30 frames of landing lag whereas bair has only 15 and nair has 16! Instead of using falling nairs all the time, could we use falling bairs as well?

edit: of course, nair provides better shield pressure, but falling bairs could be used to space more against the characters with great options out of shield on their backside- such as Rob.

the fact that you did all of this ... hilt=amazing (no homo) lolz

and whts a held jab?

question about fair and dair landing lag.... is your landing lag for dair for when u land before the dair animation is done? becuase i was pretty sure that incomplete dair has more landing lag then a incomplete fair

i wasnt sure what to call it... a held jab is basically when you hold the button down for jab and olimar automatically does the next hit. It's actually faster to press the button twice >.>

yeah, the landing lag for fair/dair is if you land in the middle of the attack, before the animation ends. I may recheck them though, i could have messed up lol.

I know this is an old topic, but what does "held jab" mean?

and this stuff is still accurate right?

I'm actually taking time to learn frame data now lol

oh wow you hella answered that earlier, sorry

But while I'm here

I'm looking at this mainly to see what Olimar can do OoS, like when marth fairs his shield or something

If Marth spaces right is there anything we can do 0_o

a held jab is when you do a regular jab and don't release your finger and keep it held on the button so that it automatically does the attack.

the frame data is incomplete but what has been done is accurate. I may be borrowing a wii from a friend of mine (mine can't do homebrew) so if that works out I'll be able to redo it and cover my tracks, filling in the blanks.

sweet

another question on Olimar's jab

lately people have been consistently powershielding the second hit, making my life really hard because I used to rely heavily on jab when people got inside my camp

If I time it, can they still powershield it, or do I have to just hope they don't react in time?

unless they are not touching the ground it can always be powershielded, get with the tiems and start using dtilt+uptilt instead

But jab is 2 frames faster lol

jab+ftilt? lol... I'd prefer jab-grab, if the opponent is consistently shielding the nd hit.

This doesn't make much sense to me. Do you mean minimum of 60%? Maximum of 60 frames? >>

No, a minimum of 60 frames. It decreases depending on how much damage the opponent already has. So, say they have 999%. It'll still stay on them for 60 frames, dealing two latch hits. In other words, a latched pikmin cannot deal less than two hits.

It's a mind game, they think you're going to do the second jab so they hold their shield... and all of a sudden olimar does this weird animation that no one has seen before, it hits like every time... i swear, the shield always comes down in time for ftilt @.@

haha I'm gonna have to try that, I get really panicky when people get close to me and I spam jab or roll. My camp game ***** but once they get inside I freeze =(

(I've posted in 3 topics in about 5 minutes... RichBrown, the new Llumys? >.<)

Oh, instead of ftilt, why not usmash? Frame faster, good for KOs. Might not be a bad setup against smart players who know to powershield the 2nd hit

If they don't powershield the 2nd hit though and I know they aren't going to then I'm just gonna keep jabbing

holy ***** I need to learn how to play up close

WTF YOU CAN'T SAY DI CKS

THATS ****ING BULL**** WHAT THE ****

They don't necessarily need to powershield the second jab. Some characters can even jab you before you can do anything.

just dtilt, uptilt, or ftilt...please, otherwise M2K will punch a kitten every time your jab is interrupted/ shielded

inb4infraction... also consider nair as an option if they're close. Remember the bubble PSA for nair? the hitbox to the side of olimar is pretty decent ;o

because olimar only needs 3 buttons to win

and unless you purposely don't think while your playing this game you are always playing it right, unless you are ddd

Meh I think I just have an entirely different approach to this game, and I only recently really started taking in advice from other people. So I do some **** stuff that no one else thinks of, but I get ***** by basic ****.

Yeah, the best close range options are shorthop nair and probably dtilt or ftilt. Jab is only useful when you hit them while they're in the air. Then it's pretty **** good.

if a character is up close and personal with u, go for the Usmash, I do that to falco a lot as it comboes well from low percents. Jab's give off a lot of Damage. iunno why Fino was home for Ftilt (<3 Fino) but it has unrespectable ending lag, worse than jab >.>
