First Click which of the Following Games you want to register for:

-Super Smash Brothers Brawl

-Street Fighter IV

-Call of Duty IV

-Next click from the drop down box which event(s) you want to register for.

-You will then be brought to Google Check Out and will be prompted to pre-pay for that event.

-Make Sure You PRINT OUT Your GOOGLE CHECK OUT RECEIPT, You Will Need To Show It To Us At The Door When You Arrive At The Tourney to prove you pre-registered. IF you forget to do this you will have to pay again because we won't know if you really pre paid. So DON'T FORGET!

-To sign for Brawl teams you will have to pay for the whole team so make sure you AND your team mate don't both sign up for it.

-For Brawl crews the price is set to $50 in order for you to pay half of your crews cost up front. This is so if a crew decides not to come some money will still be put into the pot by them. Also, if 10 crews don't sign up we are going to cancel crews and give you your money back

Rules

-Please arrive on time. If you are late, I can not guarantee you a spot in whatever tourney you are late for.
-There are no refunds.
- Whether you are in a tourney or not, if you are in the venue you must pay the venue fee.
- DO NOT LOAD YOUR GAME THROUGH THE HOMEBREW CHANNEL!!! . If you would like unlimited length replays enabled, I will use my own personal sd card to load the game (sorry I can't trust anyone without knowledge of what codes they have on).
-Trash talking is allowed, and is encouraged! We love the hype! However, please do not distract the players too much at their discretion. Respect their right to focus on a match.
* Any destruction of anyone's property at the venue will not be tolerated, and in the case of such an event, you will be asked to leave.
- No drugs, alcohol, or any crap like that in there. If you have any, you will be kicked out.
-You may not be a commentator on the live stream without first having consent by myself, or any other approved tourney helper there. If you are commentating on the live stream, please act professional. Focus more on the match at hand instead of giving people tons of shutouts in the chat. No cursing at all. By all means keep it lively and fun though. all have an awesome time!

Singles:

3 Stock

8 Minute Time Limit

No Items

If you need to add your name to change your controls, please remember to do so, and do it quickly. You should not quit in the middle of a match if you realize your controls are wrong.

First round consists of all characters being chosen by a blind pick. The first stage will then be determined by a stage strike method. Players take turn striking out neutral stages until only one stage remains, which is the stage that is played. After the first match is over, each player bans one stage that can not be used in counterpicks.

Match two/three will first consist of the previous loser picking a stage, then the previous winner picking their character, and finally the previous loser picking their character.

You may not counterpick a stage you have already won on earlier that set.

Neutral Stages:

o Battlefield
o Final Destination
o Smashville
o Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
o Lylat Cruise

* Counterpick Stages:

o Delfino Plaza
o Castle Siege
o Frigate Orpheon
o Battleship Halberd
o Rainbow Cruise
o Brinstar
o Pokemon Stadium
o Pokemon Stadium 2
o Jungle Japes

-The 50 Ledge Grab Rule will be in effect, until the community as a whole comes up with a set number, we will make the limit 50 grabs. If the game ends with the time running out and your stats show that you went over 50 ledge grabs, you will automatically lose that round. If both people go over 50, then participating players Who ever has the highest stock and or lowest percentage on that stock will win. If both player have the same stock and percentage when the timer runs out, then a 1 stock rematch will occur.

-Standing Infinites are BANNED which include (but not limited to) Dedede's small-step chain grab.
-Ice Climber things are legal, as long as they aren't used for stalling.
-If there is a dispute over controller ports, play Rock Paper Scissors for it (best 2 out of 3, no items, FD only).
- Suicide Move Rules: (all situations are when both players are at 1 stock)
o If a player successfully ends the match with either Bowser or Ganondorf's over B attack by suicide, then the player who initiated the move wins.
o If a player ends the match by swallowing with Kirby or DDD and falling off the stage and the game counts it as a tie the one who initiated the move will win the round

Doubles

- Same standard rules and stages as singles.
- Chibo's Color-Blind Rule: If a player on a team is using a character that might make it tough to determine the teams color (like Sonic, Lucario, or Pokemon Trainer), they are allowed to request control of a certain color to help lessen confusion.
-Stock sharing is allowed.
-Team Attack is on.

Limited to standard substitutions only

List of permitted substitutions:

• RB/FB
• LOLB/MLB/ROLB
• FS/SS/CB
• O-line/O-line
• D-line/D-line
• TE/TE only
• WR/WR only
• QB/QB only
• KR/PR for WR/RB/CB
• Game Restrictions:
• Audibles must be done before the game start, at the half, or during a timeout.(2 min allowed at the start of match)
• Deliberately excessive delays are considered unsportsmanlike and will not be permitted.
• Custom Plays/Playbooks are not allowed
• On-side Kicks Allowed in the 2nd half of the game if you are behind by more than a touchdown.
• NO memory cards will be allowed/used at the tournament.
• The uses of Madden Cards are not allowed during tournament play.

General Game Guidelines:

No glitch play. This rule will be expanded once the glitches of the game are revealed. To define this, anything that tampers with the AI and is uncontrollable by the user is considered a glitch. However, Rocket Catching IS allowed at the moment. With the defensive advantages and adjustments, users may use the Rocket Catch at their own risk.

Players can use any standard NFL team with the exception of all-star teams. You must select your team prior to the start of each match. You may change teams after a tournament has started.

If you pause the game, you will be required to burn 1 timeout. Frequent and purposeful pausing during game play may be subject to disqualification.

If the game remains tied after overtime, the game must be restarted for a sudden death round. The first team to score wins the game.

If a player purposely turns off a game while it is in progress, that player will be disqualified from the tournament.

If any other game glitches are discovered during the tournament giving a player an unfair advantage, the tournament administrator have the right to ban using the glitch after the point in which it is discovered.

Additional Game Rules:

When an opponent is kicking (Punt, FG, or XPT) you may use any formation to try to block the kick but you are NOT allowed to line-shift, move any player, and/or MANUALLY BLOCK at anytime. If the computer comes in and blocks that's fine. If you do MANUALLY BLOCK, your opponent will be awarded the points he/she would have received. Remember, once this happens you must pause the game immediately and call for an official to come and review the play. DO NOT take the liberty of reviewing the play before contacting an official.

D-linemen must be kept on screen (as long as you can see a piece of them) LBs can move anywhere on screen.

If you feel that your opponent is cheating, notify an official or Tournament director immediately. The officials decision is final.

Tournament Guidelines:

DOUBLE elimination tournament (subject to change depending on attendance)

Bring your own wired controller! Wireless controllers are strictly prohibited

In the event of an outage of power, accidental unplugging, system freeze or some other event not in either player's control that would not allow the participants to finish the game, the game will be restarted using the "situational setup" to exactly match the score, settings, quarter, time and possession so the game can continue as it was.

The higher seed in each game will be given home-field advantage or coin will be flipped.

No sideline coaching is allowed. You may cheer or boo as the game progresses (and you're encouraged to do so), but you may not offer advice to anyone playing a game. This includes telling people to watch the play clock, etc - you will be warned…failure to follow this rule will result in disqualification and you will be asked to leave.

Keep the complaints to a minimum. Legitimate complaints are always accepted. But do not enter this tournament with the mindset of finding all of the loopholes in your opponent’s game and to use this to your advantage to soothe your own loss. Attitude is everything and if you present bad sportsmanship, you will be disqualified. Win or Lose. To put this bluntly, there will be no b*tchassedness at this tournament.

Rule Changes:

Colorado Cutthroat reserve the right to modify the rules as needed. This includes changes due to software updates or releases, competition committee decisions and all other changes deemed necessary to online tournaments. Teams are responsible to check the rules on a regular basis and prior to every match to ensure they are in complete compliance. Teams must understand that rules listed are guidelines to ensure fair and competitive play and are subject to interpretation by the administrators based on the spirit of the game.

Here's something Aposl wrote to better clear up the money dispute:

Hello my name is Matthew Lofton, Gamer tag Apostle, co- creator of VG Bootcamp.

Me and my brother, Calvin Lofton, know that it is not standard practice to take money from the pot but our philosophy is simple and fair. First we are trying to run a business.which This business consists of a partnership with bb&g in which they provide the equipment/venue and me and our brother hype/run the tourney, in this case we are in charge of ssbb and sf4 only. The profit is going to be split between their association, and ours. We feel that instead of raising the venue to higher prices which effects all players we will take our profit from the pot which only effects the winner. Now we know everyone has great aspirations to win, but the general population of competitive gamers consists of people who regularly attend tourneys that they know they probably wont win, but go in order to get better and have fun. We believe that these gamers are the backbone to the community. They in effect hoist the few greats on their shoulders and basically provide those few the ability to be pro gamers. Without the continual cash input from the backbone gamer the pros would not be able to maintain this lifestyle. Also we realize that by taking from the pot no one pays more, the winner just wins less. In conclusion this money will not go directly into me and my brother's pockets but will go back into the business. We hope to bring increasingly better tournaments every event, and hope to bring some new blood to this community.

house cut 34%?

You've got to be kidding me

what a bad idea, I won't go if that stays as is, and I know we had a deal GIMR, but I'm not going to a tournament where I pay venue fee AND house cut (34% is ridiculous)

Edit: Just to be clear, I don't mind paying even 15 bucks per tourney and driving an hour and a half per day, but if the house is getting 34% plus my venue fee, it's terrible, and I won't support it

Yeah ... I don't think this is gonna get much hype if the house is ****** the pot like that, in addition to the $10-15 venue fee ... sorry GIMR.

YO misses the point, i don't care about the cost, i would pay 40 bucks for this tourney, but the fact that the house is collecting 10 bucks on my venue fee plus 34% of the pot (a third basically) is just ridiculous to me and I can't support that.

Hopefully it gets changed.

Okay guys, umm let me explain as calmly as possible as a lot of you jumped to conclusions:

first of all Venue Fee is to PAY for the venue, it's a three day tourney at a 16,000 square foot venue, and it's only a $10 venue fee.

Secondly, if there's any way you want my bro and I to continue run tourneys we're gonna have to make some sort of profit from them. We're trying to make this a business, also, We put 60+ hours of work into each tourney and usually $50 to a $100 dollar investment. This doesn't even include all of the equipment being supplied by BB&G.

Let's just say 100 people show up. that there's a $1,000 pot for singles and $1,000 for doubles

me and my brother get 30% of the profit from this tourney since BB&G supplied the venue and equipment, that's a $180 profit my bro and I will split/ put back into the business just for Brawl. if I worked a job at $8 an hour for 60 hours I'd make $480 BTW

if a couple other games get a $1,000 pot that gives us another $180

So total, after 60 hours of work and a $50 to $100 investment we make $360. That's $180 for me

So from this tourney I'm only making something like a 50% profit to a 60 hours of work and $50-$100 investment(That is if I include the 60 hours of work).

Now lets say M2K shows up. He pays $30($10 dollars for singles, $10 dollars for doubles, and $10 for Venue)

He wins doubles and singles and makes $480

So for a $30 investment and playing videogames for 2 days he makes a 1500% profit.

How is this not fair?

In essence, tournament running by itself really isn't a profitable business.

Honestly, if you guys wanted to take 5 or 10% out of the pot, I wouldn't mind that.

Better yet, I would rather have you charge me a 15$ venue fee, and take out 5 for yourselves, rather than take money out of the pot. I don't want you guys to lose money on the deal, but honestly you're trying to change a standard. 34% is unheard of.

Ok, assume this

70 entrants for brawl singles and brawl doubles
30 entrants for street fighter 4 (singles only)

700 bucks in the pot for brawl singles
700 bucks in the pot for brawl doubles
300 bucks in the pot for street fighter 4

Lets say of the players, 20 players are playing both games, meaning you have 80 unique entrants.

800 bucks contributed towards venue fee. Not including the Halo 3, Call of Duty 4, and Madden 09 players to help pay as well. 800 bucks can cover an apt. rent for a month, it should sensibly cover 3 days' use of a venue combined with what the others pay in.

Then 34% of all the pots combined 700 + 700 + 300 = 1700 * 34% = $578 bucks.

1st place in each event gets 231 bucks (the teams is split in half between the teammate)

So assuming you got first place in both events, and didn't split with 2nd place, you would walk away with $346.50. While the tourney organizers get 578 bucks.

That's my problem. I know you guys don't get all of the 578 (you get 30% of it?) but in reality if the rest of the tournament costs 1200 bucks to make happen, then it's not worth going to to me. It's just not justified.

It would be like Chu going to gamepad, and instead of getting 60% for first, he is gonna get 40% for first from his entry (approx. % 1st is getting on this).

Here, I'll call out Mew2King on this one, since he knows all about this. Mew2king, would you go to a tourney where you AT BEST will get 40% for first?

More Edit: Sure, he gets 1150% profit on his entry

but at COT4, mew2king made 6250% profit on his entry

Dude that's where you get it wrong. You don't know anything about the price of a good venue. A good venue usually costs somewhere around $700 a day. Since BB&G is handling the venue I don't know how much it costs, but I know it should be close to $700 a day.

Secondly, this "tourney standard" you're talking about needs to change if you want quality tournaments to start happening.

Oh yeah since BB&G is gonna have 50 to 80 tvs here somethin like 15 Wii's, 15 copies of Brawl, 30 Xboxes, 20 Ps3's, and bunch of copies of other games, he's putting a huge investment into this. So him geting 70% of that profit really isn't much.

I'm not arguing with you anymore please keep it out of this thread. The points I made in my previous posts are enough proof that this is 100% fair.

Maybe cuz we're all not M2K....? Idk thats what I see it as =/

Dude I just placed M2K's name in there, what does everyone not being M2K have to do with anything? I wasn't trying to make anyone feel bad or anything.

More Edit: Sure, he gets 1150% profit on his entry

but at COT4, mew2king made 6250% profit on his entry

Wow, now your smudging facts?

M2K made 6250% profit at COT4 because 280 people showed up. Stating random facts like that without context is misleading.

If 280 people showed up to my tourney he would still make something like 4500% profit. which is ridiculously good

I think it is funny that you would rather that extra three dollars go to M2K than people organizing the tourney tant. Lolz. Also remember me and my bro didnt enter doubles, I didnt enter singles at btyf. Also we are investing into our website to help hype the community. Also if you bring three friends( tourney virgins) you dont pay venue. Also we are paying you ** bucks to record matches. Also we had to edit vids from our last tourney. We are trying to make this community pro. Also you have seen our flyers, bringing those to Chu's was a joke. We really are going to be sending those out to try to get massive noob hype for this tourney. Also something you didnt know is that we have gotten, and by us I mean bb&g, radio add time for this tourney and newspaper space. Tantulus you tried to use to use the money from the other games in your argument, something you also dont know is that at tournaments for those games they always get that much out of the pot. You also said that you would rather pay a fifteen dollar venue than have this much taken out of the pot, when the equivalent is 3 dollars extra not 5. In essence you are saying I would rather every one who doesn't make money pay an extra 5 bucks than the winner having less pay out. We were thinking about the community when we made this mathematical decision. We thought, the winners should take the financial hit and not the every day patrons. I mean I know Im giving my money away when I enter, but I wouldnt put up an additional five bucks to buff their pot. Im sorry if this decision seems unfair to you but if you think if about it I think you will agree, however I feel really disrespected that you didnt pm us about this, I mean this is worse than syrup in my hat.

no offense guys but the kishes ran fc without making profit and that took tons of time and energy. you are entitled to make a profit from the tourney but i think a venue fee and then a 34% house cut of the entry fee is absurd. if the house cut was 10-20%, it wouldn't be so bad. 34% is a huge chunk of money considering they already get $15 a head regardless.

Its only a 10 dollar venue fee if you do pre register and that is for the venue! Thus the title venue fee. Which means we technically only will get three dollars a head from the pot fee, which me and gimr get one dollar of which we then split. That is 50 cents a head profit. Then we are going to take that little money and invest it into the next tournament!!!!

I believe the kishes DID profit from their FC's. 100% from 200 players at about 65$ for admission equals to about $13,000 which was definitely NOT given to the players. Yeah they had to pay for tvs, equipment, chairs, tables, security guards, and food but I don't think that $7000 of the pot was used to pay for all of this. Maybe $1000-2000 but definitely not $7000 (keep in mind that I'm using estimated numbers). So yea, Kishes made profit.

In regards to this whole "34% cut from the tournament", yea I agree with the community that this is unacceptable.

GIMR, why don't you just make the venue 3$ extra instead of ****** the pot from the players? If there are 100 players, that's $300 for you and your bro. $150 each profit is definitely a good number for all of your guys' hard work.

It's simple. People should be able to round up $3 extra before this tournament. If you don't like that number, then do $5

i don't think we mind the fact that you and your bro are taking $1 of everyone's entry fee. it's the fact that whoever the "house" is wants $2.40 per person per event in ADDITION to the $10/$15 venue fee (and lets be realistic here, most people will end up paying the $15). so basically, if someone enters teams and singles and doesn't pre-register, that's

$35 total for tourney entry
-$15 venue fee
-$2.40 per event house cut (since the house gets 24% of the pot) x 2 = $4.80
-$1 per event your guys' cut (10% i assume?) = $2
=
$13.20 of the $35 someone pays will actually go toward the pot. $6.60 per event.

do you realize how absurd that is? 62.3% of someone's money is not actually going into the pot. that is ridiculous.

We are going to vote on this because you guys seem to be more offended by the percentage thing, even though raising the venue fee will be the exact same effect, however you are going to ostracize our community from the others but i do care about the people so whatever but this is only for smash!! Btw their are three parties involved, the owner of the venue, bb&G and then me and gimr. bb&g put up for the venue, tvs, systems, and games, we were basically hired to hype host run and deal with the community. The percentages and price were not our decision, so we will have to convince them, but i do think you guys are getting stuck on semantics because if we move the money around it will have the same effect, unless you win mroney. So my point is who do we pander too the 10 who make money or the 90 other entrants? So keep as is or $15 venue with 10 percent cut?Or just post what you think is fair, but I will say one last thing, if we want better and bigger events then the people hosting gottra make money becuase it is really hard. me and my bro have a vision and a dream but it is going to take the communities support. We want this community to be bigger and to mingle with the other communities. By telling us that this is ridiculous you are basically saying we dont deserve proper payment, and dont tell me u arent because we didnt make anything at our last tourney.

Charge me a 15 dollar venue fee, 20 at the door. Take the 5 bucks for yourself.

Do that, and the world is a better place, as I suggested.

We just did the math and charging 10 at the door and adding 5 to the pot fee and only taking 20 percent will make evrything come out the same, how does that sound to everybody? Making people add 15 to the pot instead of ten basically.

WTF at venue fee and house cut together. thats not a cut/fee. its robbery. plus that amount your setting as an example for m2k to win...he always gets that amount or more for normal venue fees >.>

btw, i help run half of the MD/VA tournaments, and help organize and randomly promote them, I randomly do recordings and I give tons of people rides all over the place in bad situations (Chu Dat DOJO), and I've never made a dime.

Sometimes you have to give a little extra. I already told your brother what I thought, you guys are basically trying to take 6 dollars from the pot instead of taking 5 dollars on the side. Does the extra dollar matter that much?

If you promote the event (and if you change the fee deal, I'd gladly help you promote the event), and you guys get as many as 150 different heads for your 3 events, thats 750 bucks for guys to take away. That seems like a good deal.

i say we give em a chance and stop the whining. they did a good job with BTYF so i'll give them a shot with this; although I'll be expecting a more professionally run tourney if you guys plan to profit and all

if you guys make good on your promise to have larger and more professionally done tournies than I don't mind the extra fees. everyone knows GIMR and his bro are on the level so lets give them this one shot with no hassle. If the tourney doesn't seem worth the price than we can decide not to support them in the future

But who knows, they may be planning to be on some MLG type **** in a few years. it would be tight if we could have large professionally tournies and start getting some local/regional sponsors to help with payouts

^this plus, no one is actually paying extra for the house cut......if you adding on to the venue fee THEN you are paying more lol

I support this, may be interested in that cod4 tournament if its on the ps3.

the only people who pay extra for the house cut are the top 5 placers

so in essence, it doesn't affect me whatsoever, but I feel like instead of charging the winners to pay for it, that everyone should pay a fair share

No they aren't paying extra either, they just aren't getting all of the pot. In any case the top 5 placers are getting paid.....paid to play a videogame for a weekend.

Throw that P***y at me? B***h I think Im Babe Ruth
I may be at this :)

Hey Gimr just add 3 bucks to the venue and you and aposl will be alot better off in regards to raising attendence and also making profit.

as a gamer in the competitive scene no one wants their pot money F'd with lol, belive I've seen it alot of times especially in the Tekken scene

but bottom lines if yoou add 3 bucks to the venue your basically getting the same deal just its not coming out of the pot which is a good thing :)
