The Database: A Video Collection of Top-Level ROB Players

Since Jcaes is no longer updating and nobody has made a new thread, I just thought "You know what? I've got time, I'll do it." So here it is.

Unlike the other ROB video thread, I thought it would be more apt to only showcase videos of the top of the top, the best of the best, so that when someone comes in here to watch videos in order to try to learn a matchup, they know they're learning from someone we can trust. That is also the reason I'm only going to be putting new videos in here.

As of May 25, 2009, the cutoff date for new videos is January 1, 2009. Do not submit any videos before this.

Ninjalink

Surely everyone knows Ninjalink, the "best Diddy who doesn't main Diddy." While originally famous for being one of the first to beat Mew2king months ago and popuarlizing Diddy Kong as a tournament-worthy character, since then he has moved on to a few new characters, most notably ROB. He plays a very fast-paced and gyro-based ROB, and is easily one of the best in the country.

One of the best ROBs (if not THE best ROB) in the tri-state area, Chibo has what it takes to compete at a national level and he shows it. Also one of the best known TOs out there, thanks to a few scandalous tournaments (sadly, the much larger amount of very well run tournaments he's run aren't as well known...).

In all likelihood, the most famous ROB out there today. Credited with building ROBs metagame from the ground up in the early stages of Brawl, he was the best known person in the early days of the ROB boards. Since his switch to Meta Knight, videos of his ROB are few and far between; However, he is still a valuable asset to the ROB community...when he decides to post.

I think it'd be better if we had 3-4 matches of the best videos of each match-up. Kind of like a "Match-up Metagame Showcase" if you will. This list seems more like an e-peen boosting list for people than a video thread as it stands.

I'm honestly just trying to make sure the best of the best get their matches showcased so that people can see how they play and learn from it. The E-Peen stuff goes on in the ROB Rankings topic.

And, to be honest, trying to pick out the best of the best videos for every single matchup is 1. Too subjective and 2. Too much work. It'd be **** near impossible to reach a consensus for something like that, let alone find enough recent videos that accurately show how the matchup should be played at a high level for every character.

There are several problems with trying to find the best videos of each match up.

1. There's no filter for bad ROBs. If there is only one video of ROB vs Lucas, and that ROB is bad, should we really display the vid as a guide on how to play the match up?

2. The match up specific videos may be too old to display. Should we display a 1 year old vid of ROB vs Tlink, as if it was indicative of the proper way to play the match up today?

3. Epeen or not, these are the best players with the character, and people are looking for the best players to learn from. Match up specific vids may not supply people with what they actually need.

I was hoping for something instructional from one of these players on the Lucario vs. ROB matchup. I still have trouble with it sometimes, even after reading the material and looking at the videos in our other vid thread.

The only Lucarios in my state are campy as hell. So...I can't help you unless you're having trouble with campy ones.

Aggro ones are a mystery to me @_@ I've always wanted to play Azen or Lee but I've just never had the chance.
