If you have videos of good, recent Brawl+ matches on Youtube, please post the links here for us to upload to Niconico. Brawl+ has started in Japan, what we need now is more videos to grab more attention.

So now Brawl+ has been developed quite a long time, and we already have US and PAL codes. However, Brawl+ has not really reached Japan yet. Recently I came across a Japanese blog and found out that almost all Brawl+ codes have already been ported, other than the Debug Pause(GCC) and Button Modifier codes. So Brawl+ is ready to be developed and promoted in Japan, other than the only problem, language. They ported the codes, but they don't know what some codes do, and there is not even a codeset there yet. What I wanted to see is that someone who has decent Japanese help them and promote Brawl+ in Japan. SUPPORT BRAWL+! SPREAD THE WORD! -- Brawl+ FAQ. And no my Japanese is not good.
Here's the blog that I mentioned:
http://kenta3753.blog38.fc2.com/, New Kenta3753' Program Blog.
http://kenta3753.web.fc2.com/wiihack/code_list/rsbj01.html The codes which are ported and confirmed working
http://kenta3753.web.fc2.com/wiihack/code_list/test/rsbj01.html The codes which they don't know the effect of them/testing/beta codes

Ok now we have started promoting Brawl+ in Japan by uploading videos. That will hopefully rise the Japanese's interest of Brawl+, but many of them don't know what Brawl+ is. So we need translators to write a Japanese Brawl+ FAQ, and also for communication. Please reply in this thread if you are interested in this.

JP Brawl+ Wiki:

Known differences from the US version:
MK's grounded tornado can rise a lot, reason unknown. The same problem is also in the PAL version.

Otherwise, US and JP Brawl+ are the same. JP replays work perfectly in the US version, unless MK is present.

I've ported most of the Brawl+ codes to Japan, but I haven't had the time to test them. This may change next week - I may be meeting a friend with a Japanese Wii/Brawl.

It's interesting that many of the codes have already been ported by other people, too. I wonder if a Japanese Brawl+ project has been attempted by themselves.

I remembered seeing a set made by, based on plussery 4.1. But it seemed that not many people there have heard of Brawl+.
BTW I have a Japanese copy of Brawl, so I can test the codes when I have time.

It's missing codes off the end because I never bothered to port them (I just went down the list). And it's missing newer codes too, of course. And, uh, it's missing data codes. Those are probably quite important. But if you feel like helping you can try and see which of those work without crashing horribly. Porting is quite easy, but there are places you can slip up, and with a lot of codes it's likely to happy once or twice.

I wrote a comment in incredibly butchered Japanese asking if he knew about B+ and whether or not he'd be interested in helping to port codes to JP.

I can translate FROM Japanese well, but I can't translate TO Japanese well.

Link or I dont believe it.
rofl Neko, don't EVER take Slashy seriously. He's just stating what he "thinks" or "wants" it to be called in Japan. It's not really called that, it's a dumb name and the Japanese would likely stick with Brawl+ as the name just in their own way of saying it (pronouncing "plus" as "prus" for example or something along those lines).

Case in point, don't ever take Slashy seriously.

Indeed, don't take him seriously. Did a quick search for "スマッシュXX" and I got a weird little blog about Xbox LIVE, a tennis player complaining about knee pain, and an Ebay seller selling brawl.

they probably changed the name cause they cant pronounce "brawl+" (prus?)

thats what i think
+ in Japanese is "purasu". They would have no problems pronouncing it.

IIRC, Brawl in Japan is "Darantou Smash Bros. X" or something. Pretty sure Brawl isn't in the name.
He meant that Brawl+ was "Smash XX", not vBrawl. And it's Dairantou Smash Brothers X. It roughly translates to "Great Chaotic Fight Smash Brothers X".

It'd be cool if it turned out to be something like "Smash X^2"

I know. My point was that it'd be odd for the Japanese to call it Brawl+ when the Japanese game doesn't have Brawl in it's name.

Code testing results till now:
Default Settings Modifier: Working perfectly
Dash Dancing: Working, but freezes later
Ignore Handicap: Works
Buffer scale = Handicap scale: Seems to work
Grabbing a ledge results in freezing Random freeze?
EDIT
Deadlands: Not working
Hitlag Modifier: Not working
Shield during Dashdance: Freezes
Momentum reversed momentum when jumping
Level Freezer: Warioware reversed, PKMNStadim2 reversed, so it should be working
Freezes after initial dash
Dash Cancel: Cannot be tested due the freeze after the initial dash, the freeze may be a effect of this code
Shield to allow Swap: Working
Shieldstun: Working
No Autosweetspot Ledges: Working
Tech Window: Not tested due to lack of hitstun
Tags in replays: Works
Grav Values: Not tested, but ivy falls very slowly, not working?
I guess that's all, maybe I'll test individual codes later, or the others' ports

X+ kind of has a nice ring to it.
You know, the official abbreviation of smash in Japan is スマブラ, aka SmaBro. So expect it being called スマブラ+ or X+. And the symbol will be two X's... cool.

You're welcome. I'm always willing to test the codes;)

I have a friend who speaks japanese. If needed I could ask him to email some simple questions. Just compile of list or email you need translated and I'll ask him.

Does he play Brawl? Our aim is to promote Brawl+ in Japan, so having Brawl experiences and knowledge would help a lot, especially if he plays Brawl+. Though even if he doesn't, he can at least help translating things like what the codes do, what is Brawl+, etc. So it's not as simple as asking a few questions -- it's more complicated. What I want to see is something like promoting Brawl+ in other forums, where people don't know Brawl+ at all, but this time using a different language. Please ask your friend how much effort he will be making, and thank you for helping!

I have Arkaether tracking the JP porter in that blog. We could have your friend and Arkaether collab to help contact the JP community.

IIRC, there is a JP equivalent of Smashboards somewhere. We should pull up the link and have them traverse around that site and see if they can find anything related to Brawl+.

He only plays brawl+ when I bring over the wii so he is by no means a high lvl player or really understand the Ats and such (for instance I just taught him you could grab out of shield). As for how much time he would have to dedicate to it I have to assume it would be on the low end as he is a college student in RL.

Still, doing like a list of what code does what would be easy enough (well as long as I can actually figure out what it does as his english is a bit meh). But anyways I'll ask how interested he'd be in helping.

Uploading Brawl+ videos to Nico Nico Douga would help spread the word. If we got a single unified Brawl+ account, and uploaded our videos there, we could easily start are following as Nico is THE japanese youtube.

Youtube.jp is pretty much second to Nico.

A Nico account and Japanese account for JP Youtube would certaintly create a blip on the JP map in a matter of time.

We'd just have to heavily refrain from using english except for the occasional phrase.

That and we need to make a JP name for Brawl+

Let it be Brawl+ for now, as the coders also use Brawl+ as the name.
To start with, upload the community combo video.
And make a Japanese FAQ. Seriously.
Also we need JP codes... that shouldn't be too troublesome compared to others though.
BTW I actually found a Brawl+ video there. It's CPU oli vs CPU Ivy. But they don't know it's Brawl+, though they are amazed at how good the CPUs are...

I have a Nico account, perhaps it could be of use? Although I'm assuming making an individual account called Brawl+ won't hurt either.
