Both tournaments are Double Elimination as well as best two out of three with the semifinals and finals best 3 out of 5.

The stage striking system will be used at this tournament.
In this system, players take turns striking stages from the starter list until only one stage remains; these stages are not banned and can be counterpicked later in the set. This tournament will have 5 starter stages, so each opponent chooses 2 stages they do NOT want to play for the first round.

Starter Stages:

-Battlefield
-Final Destination
-Smashville
-Yoshi's Island (Brawl)
-Lylat Cruise

Counterpick Stages:

-Delfino Plaza
-Castle Siege
-Frigate Orpheon
-Jungle Japes
-Battleship Halberd
-Rainbow Cruise
-Brinstar
-Pokemon Stadium 1

Set order will proceed in the following manner:

1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure (which player picks first may be determined by coin flip or Rock-Paper-Scissors, but it should not be all THAT important)
3. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
4. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for the rest of the set
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List **
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match
**No stage may be played in two games of the same set, unless BOTH players agree to it.

Hey Mwarhead myself as well as many of the South FL players have figured out a way to improve attendance at your Gigabits tournaments and at my Tournaments in SFL. Everyone including people from Orlando/CFL would rather that our tournaments be about 2 weeks from each other that way people from SFL can have ample time/planning to go to Gigabits (which in turn improves your turnout on attendance & hype) and CFL can have the same to come to my tournaments.

Both of our events are basically once a month, so scheduling our tournaments this way (2weeks apart) will almost always create hype/anticipation for the other region. As of right now my next Brawl tournament is on 9/12th seeing as I had that date first its only fair and would be in your best interest to change this tournaments date to 9/26, this way both we will not be SPLITTING/DIVIDING the community on which tournament to choose to go to. This way caters to the players which is most important. Which in turn allows for BOTH of us to get great turnouts more hype and of course more fun for our tournaments (and you get more money from this of course seeing as how you take about 30% of the pot.)

The community has expressed that they would rather it this way and it works out for everyone :) Its just a suggestion, but let me know your thoughts..

Hey Lee,

While scheduling these tournaments I try as much as possible to avoid other CFL or large events. The unfortunate reality of the situation is that Gigabits hosts lots of other events other then Smash Brothers Brawl and Melee. This creates a very tight schedule for scheduling events that in a lot of instances will make conflicts unavoidable. That being said Gigabits has a huge Counter-Strike Source Tournament scheduled on the 26th sponsored by Alienware that we have been planning for 3 months. So I cannot move this event from its current date.

tony is my partner. but he is for hire. around here he is known as the lone mercenary. ready to team at a paid expense notice.
If Kei doesn't go we could try teaming. If you don't feel like paying 10 bucks for tony to be on your team again
