How Much?

-Entrance Fee-$7.00
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl Singles Tournament Fee-$13.00
-Super Smash Bros. Brawl Doubles Tournament Fee-$20.00 (team)
-Full entrance fee discount for full setups (tube TV+Wii+Brawl+all characters+all stages)
-Half entrance fee discount for tube TV or Wii (+Brawl+all characters+all stages)

Prizes will be paid out in Cash out of the total tournament fee

-60% for 1st Place
-25% for 2nd Place
-15% for 3rd Place

How Does it Work?

Double Elimination

Rules= Stock
Stock = 3
time= 8min
Handicap = Off
Damage Ratio = 1.0
Friendly Fire = On
Self-destruct = -1
Items = Off
Best 2/3
Finals best 3/5
Loser choose stage->winner chooses character->loser chooses character

The winner of a round will be the last player or team standing. In case of a time out, the winner will be determined by stocks then percentage. However, to promote gameplay and decrease edge stalling, I am including a no stalling rule.

No Stalling Rule: in case of a time out, any player can request a count of edge grabs. If the winning player for that round has 65 ledge grabs or more, he automatically loses the round. Of course, any obvious stalling techniques (Sonic neutral B infinite under stages, etc...) will be penalized.

Dave's Stupid Rule: a player cannot pick a stage they have won on during the round in question. Unless if both players agree.

Neutrals--Battlefield, Final Destination, Yoshi's Island, Lylat Cruise, Smashville

Counterpicks--Pokemon Stadium 1, Delfino Plaza, Castle Siege, Frigate Orpheon, Halberd, Rainbow Cruise, Brinstar

All other levels are banned from tournament play.

General Rules:

- When it's your turn to play, you will be called ~3 times and we will wait for you for about 5 minutes. If you are not present in this time or we do not hear from you as to where you are or what you're doing, we will attempt to run another match before yours. However, you risk being disqualified if there are no other matches in that round to be played.

- if your behavior is disruptive during the tournament or if you do anything obviously illegal, you will be escorted out. Money matches are fine as long as you aren't advertising them all over the place.

- this is a bring your own controller (BYOC) event (no turbo or modded controllers allowed). We have no obligation to loan controllers, so come prepared. Neither FIU nor the tournament staff is responsible for any of your belongings (this does not mean the staff will not try to keep an eye on things for you nor that they won't help you try and find them, we are simply under no obligation to do so) if they are damaged or lost.

- At the time of registration, every attendee will be required to show ID (with birthdate). A consent form must be completed by a parent or guardian, and must be submitted the day of the tournament for every attendee under the age of 16. The form is available here: http://img34.imageshack.us/img34/411...onsentform.jpg . Extra forms will also be available at the time of registration.

Other Information:

- Parking passes for non-students will be available at $1 for the entire day per car. Please call (305) 348-2189 when arriving at the campus for instructions on where to park and to purchase your parking pass.

- the Game Room’s pool tables are available at regular student price for $5/hour.

- Wendy's, Subway, Little Caesar's, Publix, and a Chinese Buffet are located across the street from the FIU main entrance on 107th Ave. Burger King and Taco Bell can be found heading out of the 107th exit and making a right towards 8th ST on your right side.

1. The payout is 70/20/10? That seems to be a bit lopsided to me. Is there any way to change that?

2. What is with the ID thing? I'm not complaining, but it is a little weird.

1. It's actually suppose to be 60/25/15. I forgot to edit that part when I copied/pasted.


2. This is for security purposes, paired the consent form. If an attendee is under 16 years of age, he or she will not be allowed to enter the tournament without a properly filled out consent form. Basically, the FIU/the game room wants to make sure that underage players have the permission to be there and does not want to be responsible for anything that could happen to an underage player who could possibly be leaving the tournament location with a large sum of money. Checking IDs is the most effective way for the staff to know who is or isn't underage.

im bringing my wii. i might even bring a tv, it all depends on the ratio of tvs - wiis. (if more people can bring wiis but not enough tvs, i'll bring my tv to balance it out.)

The Chili's is being built in the big room which unofficially was part of the game room. The game room itself still exists.

It's gonna come back. I'm gonna start hosting some at the dorms.

It was awesome. Almost every single day in between classes you could either me, Chaz, Ruuku, Seribrik, Serg, and lots of other players. Those were the days :-(
