"Hey guys - just wanted to thank everyone again for putting up with my "hosting". First things first, HUGE shoutout to Tyson and Tyler for being so awesome on Melee day. I...really don't know why I agreed to host Melee, and I didn't even end up doing anything on Melee day lol, but it's safe to say it would have been a much bigger disaster without them there. <3 you Tyson for staying through singles even though you didn't enter. Things went super smoothly because of it.

As for Brawl, things probably could have gone a little bit smoother, but I think overall it went well, and I hope everyone else thinks so too. It's too bad there wasn't enough time to get to everything I wanted, and I apologize to anyone I promised Low Tier to. If I host again, Low Tier will definitely happen - crews gets so much excitement, and I don't want the hype to die down if we do it too often =P I conceded to do crews this time, so I think it's only fair that Low Tier be given its chance. That said, I don't regret going with crews at all. I really enjoyed it, and it seems like everyone else did as well, so it's cool ;D

For the future, I think we can take away a few things from today. First is that setups are super important. We had six setups going at one time, which was really nice. Things were moving along as well - things would have gone on for much longer without them, so please try to bring setups if you can. Then, I think assigning stations works really well. Not only does it cut down on people trying to sneak in friendlies (hi dan), but it also makes sure the losers bracket keeps up with winners so that waiting times are kept at a minimum. It could have been better at the end of singles when I got lazy, but whatever... I didn't expect two sets to take a full hour >_> Also, thanks to Ashkan, Kelvin and Alvin for bringing their recording equipment. It'd be awesome if you guys could bring it more often. On that topic, I challenge this entire community to get better at saving Replays. I honestly think if we actively tried to remember, we'd actually get better at it, but maybe that's wishful thinking.

I'll be talking to a few people about establishing another venue and stuff to continue these monthlies. U of A looks promising at the moment, so I'll keep everyone posted. I'll also be talking to Luke and a couple other people about getting an official ruleset and stagelist out for our region, since the previous one had some questionable and ambiguous statements. I'm thinking the general approach will be to let things be legal unless they are shown to be broken - in other words, a more liberal stage list. Again, I'll keep you all posted

Also, Jamie. Next time I suggest that you pressure with more cooked grenades. Also, the way you were playing in Crews was your prime of the tournament. If you pressured with tech chasing down throws and pressure my shield with jabs, the first hit of the FTilt as I'm putting up my shield, etc., you just put the heat on Sonic that way. Don't let me grab you. In the air, Sonic vs. Snake is practically 65/35 in Sonic's favor. In fact, anytime you're above me, it's 65/35 for Sonic. Do your best to stay grounded, you're so much better at CQC (Close Quarters Combat) than I am. A good Sonic will always make it tough for you. Just know... You're the far better character. If I screw up once up close, at high percents that's a free stock. At low percents that's just putting me in a bad spot anyway. Also pressure me when I'm recovering. I have one of the best recoveries in the game, but mortars, grenades, even going off stage so long as you don't place yourself low. You can grab me out of my spring recovery as well, and gimp me just like you can Snake. The only difference is that unlike Snake? I can't do ANYTHING about it. More often than not, if a Sonic is in that situation, they'll either predict your shielding and air dodge behind you (to which you land an UTilt/Grab/Whatever it is you do for the situation), or they'll UAir/FAir you on the way up if you're not shielding. Two things really. Or on FD, I just spring, wall jump, take the ledge. Be careful about going high up with the Up + B, too. It's dangerous for me, but I can, and I will spring chase you. Either with an UAir, or a BAir to avoid your own BAir that works like a sleeping bag. Just remember, you're above me. You're mostly screwed.

Also, don't go Brinstar on me unless you have experience fighting a Sonic on that stage more. We'll do that too if you wanna turn that into your CP against them. In principle, it works and is good for you being so heavy for a low roof.

We'll play more and you can understand the match-up better. I wanna face you again and put on a good show.

Pressure me when I'm up close. Pressure me when I'm far away. The key thing?

I was impressed by how good some of the newer players are. I obviously cannot play once per year and keep up with you guys anymore.

Zero_Edge: I guess I should be happy that I beat your Ike, but facing D3's in general always makes me cry on the inside. Also it was fun playing B+ with you.

Kuraudo: That Sonic just is everywhere at once, it's just rediculous. And like with Adam it was fun playing B+ with you, and Ike+ is too good.

Lime: How could you be that awesome in crews?! Tell me your secret!

Chaos: I really need to learn the Wolf/Diddy match up so I could win legit next time (ie; not by a SD) 'cause that last match was too close.

Fraser: Good job at taking third in doubles, and from what I have heard, beasting in crews.

Alphicans: I agree, you should stick with G&W (and I am not saying that because of Falco CG).

Colin: Sorry 'bout declining the MM, but like I said, I don't think I have improved enough for a MM.

After Dawn: Like with Mike, good job with helping keep Melee running.

Melee Peoples: I had alot of fun playing Melee with everyone there.


And to anyone I may have forgotten, I had a really great time playing both games with everyone and I hope that the next tournament (hopefully in January) will have everyone coming back.

No problem. I was already bringing 2 TVs, so I figured, why not bring the laptop as well? It really wasn't any trouble at all, especially since I already had TiO installed.

I'll probably be coming back at the end of April/beginning of May, although there's a chance I could end up coming back for a couple weeks in February. We'll see how it goes.

I edited the OP multiple times, updating people's mains as they came up. Thanks for pointing my mistakes out. I also added Brawl crew results, but the formatting was pretty half-***ed, so I apologize. It's still there for people to reference when trying to remember what happened. Also, if anybody uploads videos, I'll edit the OP with those as well.

Shoutouts are still to come. I've been really tired all day, and lacking the will to really do anything. I'll get a start on it soon, I swear.

I'll get the vids of crews up soon. I just reinstalled the recording software on my laptop, so hopefully tomorrow or something.
