Brawl is serious business : Nado at Netchamp

GENERAL INFORMATION

BISB is returning for the 3rd time at a new venue, netchamp! Netchamp is a great venue since we do not have to provide any TVs, and only a couple of wiis, which means it is much less of a hassle for the players. This tourney will improve on what Inb4xmas and BISB 2 did, bringing in a total of 4 events: Low tiers singles, Brawl Singles, Brawl Doubles, and 4-5 man crew battles. We also aim at recording every single bracket match and have a unified brawl code set for the tournament. We will also be making sure to have streaming this time around. We also decided to pay top 5 in order to increase competition.

General rules:

-3 Stock

-8 minute timer

-Items are set to "off" and "none"

-In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors

-Each set is best of 3 save for Winners, Losers and Grand Finals which are best of 5

-Team Attack is always on.

-Dave's Stupid Rule: No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.

-In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion; whoever wins the RPS will choose first, then the opposing team will get their ports, and then the teammate of the RPS winner will get the last port.

-If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.

-Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.

-If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser.

-If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.

-Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

-Stalling is banned.

-If there is a dispute over controller ports, play Rock Paper Scissors for it (best 2 out of 3, no items, FD only).

-Suicide Move Rules: (all situations are when both players are at 1 stock)

-If a player successfully ends the match with either Bowser or Ganondorf's over B attack by suicide, then the player who initiated the move wins.

-If a player ends the match by swallowing with Kirby or DDD and falling off the stage and the game counts it as a tie, the player who initiated the swallow move wins. If the player who was swallowed is shown as winning the match (in the instance the broke out right before they died which some people might not notice), then they win.

Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs most end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling.

Set format (In Order of Procedure):
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce 1 stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

Rules for crew battles

These will not be draft crews, you may make any crew you wish before the tourney or directly at the tourney. Winner takes the whole pot.
Crew format will be as follows:
- 4-5 players per crew

- 15 stocks, a 3-4 stocks per player(if 5 players, 5 players of 3 stocks, if 4, 2 players of 4 stocks and 2 of 3, 4 player crews are at disadvantage due to possibility of giving stocks to better players).

- Character selection for first game will be done with double blind pick and double blind player pick in order to avoid counter picking, which will then be followed by stage striking.

- Timer will be set to 99 minutes.

- Losing team gets to send their next player in and choose a neutral stage, player from winning team may not change characters and starts with the amount of stock he had left when the match ended(bowsercides and ganoncides are not considered to make you lose a life, otherwise every 1 stock match ending this way would end in a draw and it is considered a win usually).

- The process is repeated until one team no longer has any players left.

A good tournament codeset would be adding a fifth row of characters composed only of meta knights. You save 1 second per player per match with this easily.

EDIT : OH, and Snake in the middle.

Yeah, I hope there's one too, Holy. Would love to go to another tournament since have only actually been to OBScene back in February. Oh and uh....my screen name/brawl tag's not plural, but since the sXe is for "Straightedge" and I just wind up going by "Livewire" anyway, I guess it doesn't matter.

If someone can house two people, I might be going with a friend :)

I'll try to go for top 10 :) and maybe top 5 low tiers, depends on who will be there.

There were some changes done due to the venue cost changing.

A) Venue fee is 10$/people
B) In order to counteract this, price for singles were reduced to 10$(15+5=10+10) so you dont have to pay more.
There will probably be a reduction on the people who bring setups, we have 7 tvs, 5 brawls, and 6 wiis. Looking for 3 more full setups, which is 3 tvs, 5 brawls, 4 wiis. If you bring any of these, your venue fee will be reduced by 5$. You can only get 1 rebate per person(if you bring your wii+your cd, you can say get 5$ off for 1 person and a friend have 5$ off). Priority will go to people who travel from far away.
