I've been working a lot on the files I use for tournaments to make them easier and a little more fair in regards to seeding points. I've also evened out the prize distribution for the tourneys as well. They aren't huge differences (only a 5% change to a few) but they will make things a little more fair to everybody who competed. Here is what I have for you:

I am changing the way seeding points are distributed to reflect a more fair approach and a much more rewarding one at that. First off I am scaling down the points. Your points now mean a lot more than they used to. Second I am going to be giving out points in the following distribution:

So if you scrub out completely, you get 1 point. If you win only 1 and then get eliminated you get 2, etc. The most important thing is that the more players in a tournament, the higher 1st place makes for their points. Beforehand, I would give points starting from the top down. This revamp drastically changes the way things are and for that - your current points need a revamp. What I will do for you guys is scale down and re-use an older list of your seeding points just to make the next couple of tournaments fair. I will not be updating and adding points for that duration so much as I will be using that as a reference while people's new points accumulate. After a few months, I will wipe all of the old data and replace it with the new. I may or may not give a very small fraction of points to those who are already on the list. I don't know for sure yet. I have set up this curve of point-to-skill distribution so that if you get past the majority of people, you get what you earned but not so much beyond everybody else that nobody can pass you. So all in all, here is what you need to know about the points:
1) Less are given out now
2) Points will now scale to the number of people in the tournament.
3) I got rid of the data for people with 0-1 points. They won't be coming back.
I've changed the macros and code around in the excel files that I use so that they automatically list who gets what. This makes posting about tournaments a lot more imformative and you can see where exactly you belong. The most common question I get from people is "How far in the tournament did I get?". This solves that question in an automated script. I'm working on integrating it into one single file. Right now it talks between different bracket sizes. Once I feel that it is ready, I will give these tools to everybody to use in their own tournaments so they don't have to put so much pain into it all. Going back to the points, I will be going off of these seedings for the next few months just for placement purposes:
