Melee Rule set:

•4 stock
•2/3 sets
•3/5 semifinals+finals
•8 minute time limit
•Items off
•Ties broken by lives, then %
•Double Blind character pick can be called at anytime.
•Stage Ban: Each person may choose one stage to be disabled for the entire set, it must be chosen at the beginning of the set, after initial characters are chosen.
•Advanced Slob Picks: Loser may choose the next stage or select to go random. The winner may then change their character, followed by the loser.
•Bring your own controller
•Controller Mods, Glitches (IC Freeze Glitch, Mewtwo Soul Stunner, etc), and tactics used to stall a match (wall-bombing, rising pound), are banned.
•Team Attack will be ON
•Life stealing allowed

•In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors
•No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.
•If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage
•Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.
•Standing Infinite is BANNED which include (but not limited to) Dedede's small-step chain grab, Marth on Ness/Lucas grab-release, etc
•The Ice climber infinite are LEGAL up to 250%
•Suicide moves always go to the player who suicides to take the opponent's last stock.

1. Stage Strikes go 1 pick 2 pick 1 pick
2. Opponents choose their characters for the first match *
4. The winner of the previous match may announce their Stage Ban selection
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

Fantastic! I think this will have a pretty decent turn out. AU has some people who play casually in their game room, so i think we will get a decent local turn out. We just need to make sure that the competitive scene that exists in our state actually shows up. In addition to the AU locals, i will be trying to get ppl from Columbus to show up.

Sounds like a plan. I'll see if Lounis can go to this, too, and bring a few people from GA with him.

Hmm. I can try to go. I'll see about bringing a car of people. Me and Xee and two more guys who are interested in really getting into the Brawl scene but are at the lowest starting level so they will need some advice if we come.

If a bunch of people come, lowering the fee seems counter-intuitive. I can understand trying to make it worth the drive for people driving from hours away, but if they're willing to go even when it's $10, why lower it?

Regardless, whatever happens, I'm coming to this. I imagine Calvin will, too. I'll see about bringing some Columbus locals.

Well, we charged $10 to try and guarantee that we don't lose money for this tourney. We hope that lowering the venue fee after a certain amount of entrants will try and encourage people that are already going to bring more people. So, if enough people come, everyone gets a $5 discount for the door fee and we don't lose money for the venue. Everyone's happy .

Edit: I'll try and get M3t to start an attendance list today to see how many people are going... Also, if you are coming, don't forget to bring set ups!!

10 dollar entry. We are going to get around 20 ppl regardless of the fees. There's no reason to make it 5 dollar entry. I'm not coming for casuals or friendlies. This needs to be 10 dollars. A tournament isn't a tournament if the entry is 5 dollars. It's more like a social gathering, were people smile and high five after matches. I want to see ppl on the verge of throwing controllers. I will trash talk if this is a 10 dollar entry ~(i have never trash talked at a tournament)~
