Rules:

  • MLG (Major League Gaming) does not endorce modding Wiis. MLG owns Smash World Forums, therefore you shall not speak of modding Wiis in anyway on this forum. If you need help with the modding of your Wii, installing Homebrew or the like then please Google it and get the help you need.
    <br />
  • Linking to hacker sites and hacker tools is against the rules. Do not link or discuss ISOs, torrents, files off of an ISO (see #3), WAD files, backup loaders, ROMs, cIOS or any copyrighted code. See Section 6 of the Global Rules for more information.
    <br />
  • Copying, requesting and/or distributing copyrighted data directly from a Wii game, in any shape or form, is prohibited. This includes mdl0 files used for character models. Making your own data completely from homebrew, like if you were to make your own mdl0 from scratch, is completely legal and is allowed on the forums.
    <br />
  • This forum (Tutorials, FAQs and Help) should only be used for information and explanation into the Workshop world, like Brawl mods, Brawl code set help, custom content help, etc. If you're asking general questions about homebrew that don't relate to Brawl hacking, I recommend using Google to find your answers.
    <br />
  • Posting in a thread to "bump" your topic to the top of the list is discouraged. You may only bump it once in a 24-hour period. Any more and I will issue a multi-posting infraction. If nobody's answering your question, they might not know the answer!
    <br />
  • Mini-modding is discouraged. Use the Report Posts feature (
) on the bottom left of a post to alert me or another moderator to a thread.

[collapse=Q: How do I launch texture hacks/codes on a SDHC (over 3GB) or USB drive?]If you're launching it from Gecko OS, texture hacks, stage textures/hacks, Brawl+, Brawl-, Balanced Brawl, etc. will not work from SDHC cards in Brawl because Brawl's programming doesn't read SDHC cards, but will launch Gecko OS codes.

If you do want texture hacks, Brawl+ or any type of code-related goodness from a SD card, SDHC card, or even a USB drive, google for "Riivolution". Riivolution will let you replace any file from your SD/SDHC/USB, as well as run codes.

1) Download Riivolution. Again, I emphasize using Google for it. Extract it to your SD card or USB drive.

2) Make a folder in the root of your SD card/USB drive called "riivolution". You should have "apps" and "riivolution" in the root. Inside "riivolution", download codehandler.bin from here and place it in the "riivolution" folder.

3) Download modlauncher.xml and save it inside the "riivolution" folder.

4) Launch Riivolution from your favorite loader. It should bring up the options for Ocarina, but everything should be preset for you to hit "Launch".

It should look similar to this:

So, you may be asking, where do I place Brawl+, Brawl- or even my regular brawl codes? My texture hacks? Look no further:
[collapse=Where to place things:]=========== Where do I place my mods? ===================

[collapse="Q: I named my BRSTM file right and put it in the right folder, why is it not working?"]Check to see, first of all, if you're running Gecko OS off of an SDHC card. If you are, please see the Riivolution guide in Tutorials, FAQs & Help on how to set up Brawl hacks for SDHC.

Don't forget that BRSTMs are case-sensitive, so make sure it isn't named "X04.brstm.brstm" or "x04.brstm". They will need to be named something similar to "X04.brstm".[/collapse]

[collapse="Q: How do I install Texture Hacks?"]
Phantom Wings has granted us a great ability, to be able to edit Brawl's textures without the need of burning a disc! It took him an arduous amount of work to do it and I honestly think he deserves a lot of credit so, once again, thanks Phantom Wings!

Guide:

You're going to need a few things before doing any of this:

The latest version of Gecko OS (or Riivolution)
An SD Card (or SDHC/USB drives for Riivolution)
The Homebrew Channel
An SD Card Reader
Code Manager

Once you have all the necessities here's what you need to do:

1. 2GB or lower SD cards: Put Gecko OS (once unzipped) into a folder in your SD Card called "apps" (should be in the root of the card) and drop the Gecko OS folder into there (if it is not a folder and just three files, create one and put the three files in there).

3GB or above SD cards (SDHC) or USB drives: Be sure to follow the Riivolution guide in the "How do I do texture hacks on SDHC/USB drives?"

2. Create a folder called "codes" in your SD Card (outside of the apps folder you created earlier).

3. Open code manager and get one of the codes below (based on your region, PAL, NTSC, or NTSC-J) and set up your .gct (If you don't know how to do this, just ask someone in the thread, I'm sure they can help! Or you can just create a text file and import it into the code manager).

4. Save the .gct as "RSBE01.gct" and save it to the codes folder. You're set now with the codes. (If you are PAL, call it "RSBP01.gct", and NTSC-J call it "RSBJ01").

5. Now here's the tricky part everyone seems to have trouble with understanding. It is not very hard to understand at all, read carefully. Make the following directory (meaning folders) in your SD Card:

NTSC-U: private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter
PAL: private/wii/app/RSBP/pf/fighter
NTSC-J: private/wii/app/RSBJ/pf/fighter

Now, inside fighter you would create a specific folder for each character based on how their names are stored on the disc, the list for that is below.

Code:

Donkey Kong:	donkey
Falco: falco

Yellow Alloy:	zakochild
Blue Alloy:	zakogirl
Red Alloy: zakoboy
So, a directory for Captain Falcon would look like this: private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/captain

6. Once you have all the folders you want for the characters you want textures for, visit a few texture sites (listed below) to grab cool textures you like (this list will likely grow over time):

Stack Smash
Kitty Corp.

7. Once you have the textures you want, you need to name the texture file the color you want to replace. Each number represents a color of that character, so, 00 = default, 01 = first color, 02 = second color and so on. Now, the order of the colors can be quite confusing for each character so here is a convenient list of that below.

Here's an example of what a Captain Falcon texture file would be named if it were replacing his 01 color: FitCaptain01.pcs

And here's what the directory would look like with that finally included: private/wii/app/RSBE/pf/fighter/captain/FitCaptain01.pcs

Every character does NOT need their .pac file but, you need to name the .pac file the same way you named the .pcs file except without the .pcs extension (just the .pac extension instead) so Captain Falcon's .pac file would look like this: FitCaptain01.pac (of his first color, you need to change the number according to what you set it to for the .pcs, this is merely an example, it will not always be 01). The characters who DO need their .pac files are below:

Code:
Samus/ZSS
Zelda/Sheik
PT
Bowser
Wario
.pac files are mostly used for the other modes outside of versus modes, so, you do not need them if they are not the characters above. The reason why the characters above need them are for their transformations, otherwise, the textures get lost in the sea of the abyss when you transform or switch (PT). Also, for ZSS, you may need to use a CSS code with her to get her to work better (as her textures need to be loaded from the CSS if you are using v 1.1).

8. If your textures did not work, make sure your directory is set up accordingly or you didn't mess up on the color choice, check EVERY color if you really don't know which one you put it on. The codes DO work, you're just doing something wrong.

9. Otherwise, you have done it! Congratulations! You have successfully put textures on your Wii! These textures are in no way permanent, you have to load the codes each time you want access to them and NOBODY WILL SEE THEM ONLINE UNLESS THEY HAVE THE SAME CODES ON AS YOU AND THE SAME TEXTURES AS YOU! Also, Gecko OS has a 256 line limit (due to the Wii's RAM limit) so please try not to add anymore codes than that after the texture codes have been applied. Textures also do not show up in replays if you watch them without the codes on (in other words, the replays do not store texture data). However, Snapshots DO save the textures even without the codes on (this is obvious) so you can show off to your friends that you can do texture hacking now!

Stage Texture Guide

Steps 1-4 from the character texture guide still apply so skipping to Step 5.

5. Make the following directory: private>wii>app>RSBE>pf>stage>melee

6. Your texture needs to be named like this: STG[insert name here].pcs

7. Load up Brawl through Gecko OS and you should be good to go. If you are having any problems, ask questions in this thread.

[collapse="Q: How do I set up a GCT?/How do I use Code Manager?"]highfive has an excellent guide for Windows users in this thread:

Hello! If you've wanted to hack brawl for those really neat textures then simply follow this guide(I'm assuming you have Code Manager already on your computer, you have homebrew installed on your wii and a working version of Gecko OS):

Step 1: Open up Code Manager and name the Game ID RSBE01 and click the "Store Name/ID" button on the upper right hand corner of Code Manager.

Step 2: Click the "Add a code/comment/category" button near the bottom left hand side (Figure below). A prompt will open up asking for a code name. Name it however you see fit, it's more simple to name it something relative to the code such as what we'll be using today, "Texture Code" *note that this can work for adding multiple codes such as infinite replays, hacked camera, etc*

Step 2 Figure

Step 3: Highlight the code you wish to use and go to the "Code Contents" panel (middle right) And paste your code in to it such as below:

Step 3 Figure

Step 4: Now click the "Store Modifications" button near the bottom right of the screen. A prompt should pop up saying "Data Stored!"

Step 4 Figure

Step 5: Now then, simply click the box next to the name of the code, in this case "Texture Code" to make a check mark appear. After that click the "Export to GCT" button. A prompt will pop up saying "Codes have been modified. Do you want to store modifications to application memory them before export?" Click yes.

Step 5 Figure

Step 6: A new prompt will appear. It will give you two choices. "Store to file" or "store to SD card". For this we will choose the "store to File" as I did not have my SD card inserted at the moment.

Step 6 Figure

Step 7: After clicking the "store to file" button a window will pop up. You may change the file saving location to wherever you want but I find it easier to save directly to the desktop. The file name, I believe, is important. Therefore we will name it "RSBE01". It should be saved as a .gct file.

Step 8: The final step. Simply drag the .gct file you've created in to the folder marked "Codes" on your SD card. It should now look like this:

Congratulations! You've just set up your codes to work in brawl. Have fun with your textures!

If there are any problems then just ask. I may have screwed up somewhere despite putting the guide together.

How to Set Up Your Own GCT

This guide will tell you how to make a text file of the codes you want for brawl, and then turn it into a GCT.

I'll first do a guide for the cheatmanager on Homebrew, and then one on the pc cheat manager.
But first, there will be a couple things you'll need:

NEEDED MATERIALS:

1.Notepad, Notepad++, or any program that can save text as a txt file

2.The Homebrew Channel, the latest version of the Homebrew browser, and the latest version of the Cheatmanager on the Homebrew Channel (the one with a green swishy logo, not WiiCm.)

3. Gecko OS on the Homebrew browser. v1.9.0.1 or later.

4.An SD Card (at least 1GB, don't go over 2GB), and an SD card reader/computer that can read SD cards

5.The codes you want, obviously

6.An official copy of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. This is slightly obvious as well.

I have downloads for some of these materials at the bottom of the page.

Okay, so here are the steps:

Step 1. Open your text editing program (I use Notepad++), and make a new file.

Step 2. At the top of it, type the game ID for Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Since I am in the U.S,
it is RSBE01 for me. For PAL, it's RSBP01. For Japan, it's RSBJ01.

Step 3. On the line right underneath that, type "Super Smash Bros Brawl" and then in parentheses right next to that
type (US) (PAL) or (JPN).

Step 4. Skip a line, and then type the title of your codeset. This can really be anything you want.
For example, "Brawlplusery Codeset v5.0 Beta"

Now is the time for the codes.

Step 5. Skip a line after the title, and type the category of codes in the section you want. This is optional,
but helps to organize your codes. What I mean by this is, for example, "Wii RD Codes" or "Cosmetic Stuff." If
you did this, now you need to skip a line after the category title and then put the code in.

Step 5 v2: Skip a line after the title of the codeset, and then put the code in.

NOTE: All codes need a title the line before the code. For example, you can't just put XXXXYYYY XYXYXYXY in the text file. You need a title for it
the line before, like so:

Unrestricted Camera (made by Person X) (x amount of lines)
XXXXYYYY XYXYXYXY

^^^^ The above code is simply an example.

Step 6. Now that you have all your codes formatted correctly, you need to save the text file.
Since this is brawl+, name it RSBE01 (or RSBP01 or whatever, depending on your region).

Step 7. Create a folder on the root of your SD card called "txtcodes" . Put the RSBE01 text file
you just saved into here. Don't put anything else in here just to be safe.

Step 8. Load up the homebrew channel, and load up the Cheatmanager. press a on the wiimote to load up the text file.

Step 9. Press the plus button on the codes you want to activate. Once you're done selecting, Press 1 to generate the gct file.

NOTE 2: Makes sure you have a "codes" folder on the root of your sd card. This is where the gct that is generated will go to.

Load up Gecko OS on homebrew, and enjoy!

PC CODE MANAGER GUIDE:

Step 1. Get the text file ready in the same way as the first manager. Only this time, you need a code manager
for the computer. You can find the download to it in the downloads and resources section.

Step 2. Open the code manager, and select to open a text file; Open the one you made.

Step 3. Check the box on the left for each code you want activated. Once you're done selecting,
click "Export to GCT", and the gct should appear in the codes folder on the root of your SD card.

Load up Homebrew, and then Gecko OS, and enjoy! :)

There's a large database of BRSTM's here, the Custom Music Hub
If one you want in Brawl isn't in there, request it here, in the BRSTM Factory

[collapse="Q: Where can I find the files on a Brawl disc?"]See this thread: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=238697[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: There is a 256 line code limit. How do I fix that?"]Make a new file in the root of your SD card and name it "gameconfig.txt" (without quotes). Put this in it:
Code:
RSB?01:
codeliststart = 80570000
codelistend = 80580000
poke(800042B8, 60000000)
pokeifequal(803E9930, 4BFECA1D, 803E9930, 60000000)
pokeifequal(803E99A8, 4BFECA1D, 803E99A8, 60000000)
pokeifequal(803E9D5C, 4BFECA1D, 803E9D5C, 60000000)
Save it, run Gecko OS, and that error should go away.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: Gecko OS freezes at SD Codes Found. Applying... What do I do?"]Make sure you aren't using a bad code, like one that hasn't been tested, or one that may be meant for another region (like using a PAL code in an NTSC Wii).[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: How do I play on SSE stages?"]You'll find Jack Kieser's SSE listing at: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=254125

They will only work on two stages (unless you use Dantarion's Alternate Stage Loader, or Phantom Wings's Custom SSS code). The two stages they will only work on are the Online Training room (where you'd name the SSE stage "STGONLINETRAINING.pac" and put it in the \pf\stage\melee\ folder), or Temple ("STGDXSHRINE.pac" in \pf\stage\melee\). Note that you can't put SSE stages on one or the other stage...they were made to replace only 1 specific stage in mind.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: Are there ever going to be matches that have more than 4 players?"]No, the code is extremely buggy and will never be possible due to Brawl's programming.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: My match desynchs (people go in random places). What's going on?"]Your opponents and yourself must have the same codes on. If you put on a silly code like "Infinite Smash Balls", and your opponent is running Brawl through the disc channel, both of you will see opposite things.

For Brawl+, check to see that you have the same Buffer (Handicap) on.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: What if I want to have multiplayer on Basic Brawl/Team Battle?"]Try these codes:

Code:
WITH ANYONE - Basic Brawl Multiplayer [Phantom Wings]
4A000000 90180B44
38000000 00FF1000
10000000 0000000C
*Must Be Host. You must also start the Waiting Room before someone else joins (kinda like having someone join your game instead of you joining theirs).

WITH ANYONE - Team Battle Multiplayer [Phantom Wings & Jose Gallardo]
4A000000 90180B44
38000000 00FF1100
10000000 0000000C
*Works without being the host, but the same rule applies for starting the Waiting Room before others join (have them join while you are in the waiting room).
Neither one or the other can be on at the same time, however.[/collapse]

[collapse="Q: Gecko OS keeps saying No DVD found. Whats going on?"]Your Wii DVD laser may be dying out. Either sending it in to Nintendo or getting their Wii Lens Cleaning Kit may fix this.

Check to make sure you aren't running a backup DVD-R in Gecko OS, as Gecko OS is not a backup launcher.

Alternatively, there are methods of loading Brawl from a USB drive, but this is not the site to ask how to do it.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: Are custom sound effects possible yet?"]Thanks to VILE, they are! Unfortunately, there is no current way to load custom sound effects from the SD card, until Phantom Wings releases a non-buggy File Patch 4.0.

You will need/use:
SmashBox v0.57 (it can be done without it, but for the sake of simplicity its going to be used) ~ http://www.mediafire.com/?3mwmnjcqdll .

A clean smashbros_sound.brsar.

Hex Workshop (I will be using this for the tutorial, you can use a different one, but for it to be understood better, use Hex Workshop the first time), you should also hae the concept of replacing (just delete the said highlighted area and copy and paste the told hex in).

sndconv.exe (wii sdk file).

Some sounds you want in brawl.

Notepad/Wordpad (i like Notepad better).

A sound editting program (Goldwave is ok).

Setup:
Create a folder on your C: drive named "brawlsound" (it goes without saying that the " aren't included). In that folder, put in: sndconv.exe, SmashBox v0.57, smashbros_sound.brsar and your sounds you want in brawl.

Guide:
1. Open smashbox. In there open smashbros_sound.brsar. Navigate to the sound group (its the sounds of a specific thing all grouped up) you want to edit (Groups > snd_group_*thing*_*nameofthing*).

2. In there you will find another set of groups (can be one), this usually defines what sounds are where (for characters, misc sounds and voices will be split up). When you go into one of these sound groups, you will fine another 2 subgroups, Sounds and Waves. Without going into much detail, the group "Sounds" are kind of like header files, "Waves" are like the sound itself. Right now all we want to do is find our sound we want to replace, so go into Waves and listen to each sound until you find one you want to swap.

3. Once you've found your sound (remember the number after the Wave file, Wave**), export it and check its details (frequency, length, save type, you know all that jazz. This step can be done in smashbox, for the sake of making everything easier, just do it in Goldwave). Check to see if your new sound and your exported one match, if they don't, just tinker with your new sound until they do (if the sound you want to replace it with is longer, either find a different sound, or just shorten it by whatever means). Once you are ready to put your new sound in, make a duplicate of it and rename to "newsound.wav".

4. Make a new .txt file in your "brawlsound" folder and in it put:

PATH C:\brawlsound\

BEGIN NEWSOUND
FILE newsound.wav
SAMPLERATE *the samplerate of your new sound*
OUTPUT ADPCM
END

And save it as "newsound.txt".

5. Open command prompt (Run > cmd) and navigate to your brawlsound folder (type "cd c:\brawlsound\" and hit enter). Now type "sndconv.exe newsound.txt" and hit enter. Sndconv.exe should have given you: newsound.spt, newsound.spd and newsound.h.

6. Now go back to smashbox and click on the main group you where in (snd_group_***_***). Make a new .txt file named "info.txt" and in it jot down the values of both Data1Offset, Data1Length, Data2Offset, Data2Length. Also find out the value of Data1Offset and Data1Length added together and label it "Data1OffsetLength", do the same for Data2Offset and Data2Length and name it "Data2OffsetLength". If you want, you can also jot down the Wave** number i told you to remember earlier, but if you can remember it that's fine.

7. Open smashbros_sound.brsar in Hex Workshop. Press ctrl+G, make sure "Hex" is selected, check "Beginning of File" and in the Offset slot, put your Data2Offset in there and hit "Go". You should be somewhere mid file. Now press ctrl+G again and this time in the offset box, put your Data2OffsetLength in and check "Current Position", then hit "Go". Highlight the area between your first position and your current position and "right click > cut". "File > New" and paste your cut in there, save it as "WaveGroup.rwsd".

8. Press ctrl+G, make sure "Hex" is selected, check "Beginning of File" and in the Offset slot, put your Data1Offset in there and hit "Go". You should be somewhere mid file (you should be at the magic header RWSD, RaWSounD). Now press ctrl+G again and this time in the offset box, put your Data1OffsetLength in and check "Current Position", then hit "Go". Highlight the area between your RWSD and your current position and "right click > cut". "File > New" and paste your cut in there, save it as "SoundGroup.rwsd".

9. Go back to smashbox, click on the second group you went in to find your sound (0x***). Now jot down all the Data*Length/Offsets (to differentiate them, when labeling in your .txt file, add a 0x before Data****). Also write down the 0xData*OffsetLength's. Now repeate the principal of step 7 and 8 with the new 0xData*Offsets and OffsetLength's, instead of "WaveGroup.rwsd" save as "Waves.spd" and "SoundGroup.rwsd" as "Sounds.spt".

10. Now this is where your actually replacing the sounds, ill start with the easier part of it. Go to smashbox and go to the Wave** sound you chose to replace, look at its "DataOffset", write this value down labeled as "WaveOffset". Now look at the Wave** after it and its DataOffset, write that vlue down as "WaveOffsetLength".

11. Open Waves.spd in Hex Workshop. Ctrl+G, check "Beggining of File" and for the offset, use the WaveOffset. Ctrl+G again, and this time use the WaveOffsetLength as the offset. Replace the space between your first position and your current position with "newsound.spd". If the newsound.spd was smaller than what you deleted, fill the end of the newsound.spd with 0's until it is the original size.

12. Open Sounds.spt in Hexworkshop. Press ctrl+F, make sure the type is "Hex Values", check "Find All Instances" and for the value, put in "00000001000000000000", hit "Ok". A few results should come up (they appear on the bottom right). Add 1 to your Wave** number and count down that many times on your results. Once you are on the right adress, select the start of that result and go down 4E bytes (78 in decimal) and replace that with "newsound.spt".

13. Now all the replacing is done, time to repack the file. Go to your SoundGroup.rwsd, ctrl+G, check "Beginning of File" and use the value of 0xData1Offset and paste in your Sounds.spt. Do the same for WaveGroup.rwsd and Wave.spd (instead of 0xData1Offset use 0xData2Offset).

14. Now go to smashbros_sounds.brsar and you guessed it, ctrl+G, check "Beginning of File" and use Data1Offset as the offset. In here Paste SoundGroup.rwsd. Do the same but use Data2Offset this time and paste in WaveGroup.rwsd.

15. Save.

16. Test in smashbox.
Note that to replace sound effects (like swapping the default sound effects with the Japanese sound effects) will require Riivolution. See the first FAQ question for a guide on how to set that up.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: My custom music keeps being garblish and staticy. How do I fix this?"]Defrag your SD card.

On Windows XP/Vista/7:

Start -&gt; All Programs -&gt; Accessories -&gt; System Tools -&gt; Disk Defragmentor

Alternatively, if that doesn't work:

This is for all the times I've seen people make this mistake.

So, anyone who uses the File Patch Code to replace BRSTMs has experienced this: So they're playing on their favorite stage, and all of a sudden, that awesome OCRemix song that they downloaded from the BRSTM factory, and then....STATIC! It may even cause further problems, like freezes, or even the game flat out ignoring the gct! Textures don't appear, and stages disappear...how do we fix something that appeared out of nowhere?

Well, the important thing to remember is that it didn't happen out of nowhere; this is usually due to adding and deleting files to the SD card. But the point is, to truly fix this problem, you must back up your SD card and FORMAT IT. Do not defragment your SD card, FORMAT it. Defragmenting your SD card is useless, because of the way files are stored on it; in fact, the most it can do is wear the SD card as much as normally using it does. Formatting, however, wipes the card clean and restores bad sectors. Quick formatting does not do that, so don't ever quick format; the extra few minutes ensure your easy and BEEEEEEEEEEEP-free Brawl modding!

[collapse="Q: I want to update to the latest Wii version/latest Wii Shop Channel, but don't want to go through Nintendo. What do I do?"]If you want to safely update to the latest Wii menu (as of this post, 4.2) through Homebrew, there is a safe updater you can run through Homebrew Channel. This makes sure you can update effectively without the risk of bricking your Wii through Nintendo's boot2 update, as well as keep any custom IOS's you may have.

If you only want to update to the latest Wii Shop Channel to buy some Virtual Console games or Wiiware, I recommend using a homebrew application named WiiSCU to download it. As always, use Google.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: My screen freezes when I go to the Character Select Screen. How do I fix this?"]Check to make sure you don't have a bad "common5.pac" (located in \RSBE\pf\system\), or a bad "sc_selcharacter.pac" (located in \RSBE\pfmenu2\). If you aren't sure, backup those files and delete them off of the SD card and try again.

Alternatively, if it's not because of those two files, it may be a certain code you may have enabled.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: My screen freezes when I go to the Stage Select Screen. How do I fix this?"]This is a common problem with Brawl+ and Balanced Brawl...there is usually a "st_080809_xxxxx.bin" file (for Balanced Brawl) or "st_exploit.bin" (for Brawl+ without Homebrew) you may have to get rid of to stop this. Alternatively, if you're trying to play Balanced Brawl or Brawl+ without Homebrew and experience lock-ups at the Stage Select screen, redownload your GCT file and try again.

If it's not because of those stage files, it may be a certain code you may have enabled.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: Gecko OS gives me a Exception (DSI) occurred! What do I do?"]The most common cause is one code you may have on that Gecko OS can't read, and will fault an error.

Other times, you may be running Gecko OS 1.9.2, 1.9.2b, 1.9.3 or 1.9.3b. Try searching Google for Gecko OS 1.9.1, that may solve your problem.[/collapse]
[collapse="Q: Will Marth vs. Roy/Shadow vs. Sonic/Zero vs. Link ever happen? Is it possible?"]Phantom Wings is working on a Clone Engine, but as he notes, he's running into a few snags along the way:

Trust me, it's not nearly as pretty as it looks. His B moves cause the game to freeze, no articles are allowed to appear (the clawshot being the exception) and the process of getting him to the actual working stage is about as convoluted as Greek history.(okay, not that bad) Hopefully the Module Editor I'm working on will speed up that process, but it will only help slightly.
Now, you can already replace PSA or model hacked characters on a Brawl character with fewer bones, but with limitations. Olimar is a selectable character with the fewest amount of bones in a character. However, you would have to put the articles (projectiles) and animations into its FitMotionEtc PAC, textures, model data (mdl0), all using BrawlBox for it to even be possible. And don't forget, Phantom Wings's File Patch code has a file size limitation, so as long as everything loads under the limit, it'll work on Olimar. (thanks JediKnightTemplar for providing a simple explanation.)

Short answer? Yes, but it's not easy. Wait until a Clone Engine is perfected first.[/collapse]

[collapse="Q: Can Nintendo detect if I'm using codes, or cheats?"]They will frequently browse With Anyone and there have been reports of people being banned from using cheats on With Anyone, but nothing confirmed. With that said, they will only know if you're on With Anyone, but With Friends and offline use is fine.[/collapse]
