Do to lack of a better name, I present to you all:

Melee At Sworddancers!!!!




Introduction

For those who don't know me, I'm Stephen Haas, aka Sworddancer. I am a CFL scrub who has been going to tournaments for about two years now. I have wanted to host a tournament for awhile now, but for several reasons I haven't been able to. But now I can, so I am. This tourny will be cheap and I CAN provide housing to SOME (some being a key word here) if needed.

Doors open at 12, and we'll be starting at 2 if all goes according to plan.


Price

Singles: $5 per person
Doubles: $5 per person ($10 per team)
Door Fee: $1 per person

Payouts: 60/30/10


Rules

4 stock
8-minute time limit
Items set to "None"
Best 2 out of 3 games. Best 3 out of 5 games for winners, losers, and grand finals.

Setups

PLEASE BRING SET UPS!!! I 3 tvs that we can play on but only one system. On top of that my Melee Disc is kinda crapping out on me, so it's cruciall that people bring set ups to help this tourny run smoothly! Whoever brings a set up gets their door fee knocked off! So do it!


Housing

I can house up to about 7 or 8 people. The father away one lives, the more priority you get to rather or not you can stay. If you want to stay the night, then bring sleeping material. I can only house Saturday, but not Friday, sorry guys.

Also there are a couple of house rules for everyone who comes to this tournament to follow:

NO alcohol OR smoking (sorry fearless )
ALL bedrooms (except mine) will be sealed off, so don't enter them!
DON'T wreck the place OR steal anything!! I think this much should be obvious.


Help

Since this is my first tournament, I may need some help with things. I've just downloaded tio tournament organizer this mourning and have already toyed around with it a bit. But I still might need some help with some other things and advice will be appreciated!


Future Tournaments

If this tournament is successful enough (which I think it will be) then I'll hold other tournaments in the future. The next tournament will probably be a brawl only tournament, and everything after that will probably be a mix between the two.

I'll definitly consider pushing it back two weeks. I don't want to lose my tampa crowd.

How does April 24 sound? I don't want to hold this during MLG Brawl and lose the crowd that plays both Brawl and Melee.

Also I just realized that HERB 3 is on March 27 so I don't know if I want to hold it on that date. I don't know how many fl people are going to herb, but the fact that herb is on that date is definitly worth considering.

Hype this up everyone! Tell your friends and fellow smashers about this, I want this tournament to have at least 20 people.

Alright since NLL is having a tournament on the 27th I can't move this tournament on that date. Also since Tampa is already having something I'm going to move this tournament to the 24th of April. I think that's a good date for it.

I've got 4 tvs that can be used, but only one will (no cube ). So I'm going to need more of that.

Also someone should bring a recording set up, so we can record crews and such.

Well count on me to bring a gamecube for a tv!

There's some. Subway, Wendy's, Firehouse Subs, McDonalds and more all exist relativity close to my house. I can give directions at my house for when you want them.

I say instead of s setup equaling free entry into singles, you just make it so whoever brings a setup doesn't have to pay door fee!!!

EDIT: Sorry for double post...but if people do want it to be setup equals free entry into singles...limit it to first *insert amount* of setups gets it!!!
