Double Elimination

Rules= Stock
Stock = 3
time= 8min
Handicap = Off
Damage Ratio = 1.0
Friendly Fire = On
Self-destruct = -1
Items = Off
Players may take one or more of their teammate’s stock
Best 2/3
Finals best 3/5
Loser choose stage->winner chooses character->loser chooses character

# No use of Marth’s Grab Release Infinites against Lucas and Ness.
# No use of King Dedede’s Grab Infinites against Bowser, Donkey Kong, Luigi, Samus, and Mario.
# No use of Meta Knight’s Infinite Cape Glitch.
# No Pausing a Game without Referee’s permission.
# No use of an action that freezes a Game, or otherwise disrupts standard gameplay.
# Any Infinite Move must end before the affected Character reaches 300%.
# Players may request a Blind Pick of Characters for the Game 1 of a Match.
# In case of controller port conflict, players may request a coin toss from a tournament official. The winner chooses his controller port first. In 2v2, controller port choice goes in the following order: winner->loser->winner->loser.
#At the beginning of every set, each player may choose and ban one stage from the starter or counter-pick lists.

#If the Timer runs out, the winner of the Game will be determined by the following criteria in this order: Stock and Percentage. If Stock is used to determine a winner, the highest number will win. If Percentage is used to determine a winner, the lowest number will win. If both Stock and Percentage are tied, Sudden Death won’t be used and a Tiebreaker Round will be played instead. In a Tiebreaker Round, Stock will be set to 1, the Timer will be set to 4 Minutes, and the same Stage and Characters must be used.

#If the Timer runs out and a Player exceeds the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, that Player/Team will Forfeit the Game. However, if the Timer runs out and both Players in a 1v1 Match, or at least one Player on each 2v2 Team, exceed the Edge Grab Limit for that Game’s Stage, the penalty will not be enforced (See Gameplay Rules #16). The Edge Grab Limit on Norfair will be 45. The Edge Grab Limit on all other Stages will be 35. The Edge Grab Limits only apply to Games/Tiebreaker Rounds in which the Timer runs out.

Dave's Stupid Rule: a player cannot pick a stage they have won on during the round in question. Unless if both players agree.

Starting stages--Battlefield, Castle Siege, Delfino Plaza, Final Destination, Halberd, Lylat Cruise, Pokémon Stadium, Smashville, Yoshi’s Island

Counterpicks--Pokemon Stadium 2, Green Greens, Norfair, Frigate Orpheon, Pictochat, Rainbow Cruise, Brinstar

All other levels are banned from tournament play.

Naruto Shippuden Clash of Ninja Revolution 3:

Prizes will be paid out in Cash out of the total tournament fee

-70% for 1st Place
-20% for 2nd Place
-10% for 3rd Place

General Rules:

- When it's your turn to play, you will be called ~3 times and we will wait for you for about 5 minutes. If you are not present in this time or we do not hear from you as to where you are or what you're doing, we will attempt to run another match before yours. However, you risk being disqualified if there are no other matches in that round to be played.

- if your behavior is disruptive during the tournament or if you do anything obviously illegal, you will be escorted out. Money matches are fine as long as you aren't advertising them all over the place.

- this is a bring your own controller (BYOC) event (no turbo or modded controllers allowed). We have no obligation to loan controllers, so come prepared. Neither FIU nor the tournament staff is responsible for any of your belongings (this does not mean the staff will not try to keep an eye on things for you nor that they won't help you try and find them, we are simply under no obligation to do so) if they are damaged or lost.

Other Information:

- Parking passes for non-students will be available at $1 for the entire day per car. Please call (305) 348-2189 when arriving at the campus for instructions on where to park and to purchase your parking pass.

- the Game Room’s pool tables are available at regular student price for $5/hour.

- Wendy's, Subway, Little Caesar's, Publix, and a Chinese Buffet are located across the street from the FIU main entrance on 107th Ave. Burger King and Taco Bell can be found heading out of the 107th exit and making a right towards 8th ST on your right side.

I'm thinking about banning MK, taking out Delfino Plaza and Castle Siege out, and making Lylat Cruise a counter-pick for this tournament. I'm also thinking about adding a stage rule for Naruto. Any constructive input will be considered and appreciated.

dont ban mk. why dont u implement r@vyns stage striking system

- Stage striking will be used to select the stages that will be played on for the duration of the set from the 17 available stages.

- At the beginning of the set player A will strike one stage, Player B will then proceed to strike another stage. Players will continue to alternate until only 3 stages are left. Players will strike down to 5 stages for finals matches.

These are the ONLY stages that will be used for that set. Players will continue to strike down to one stage to determine what stage will be used for the first round.

The loser of the first game will then choose which of the remaining stages they would like Round 2 to be played on. After this the winner of the previous round will select their character, then the loser will select their character. If necessary this process will be repeated on the last remaining stage. Repetition of stages in a set is not allowed.

Stages:
Battlefield
Final Destination
Smashville
Yoshi's Island
Brinstar
Castle Siege
Delfino
Frigate Orpheon
Lylat Cruise
Halberd
Pokémon Stadium 1
Rainbow Cruise
Norfair
Luigi's Mansion
Pictochat
Jungle Japes
Distant Planet

I'm aware of this stage striking system. However I am unsure of its effectiveness.

Also let me know which games you are entering.

too bad it's not my friday off to come to this :(

what about CoR3-4 (w/e it's recent) for tourney instead of GNT4
It's not GNT4. I've changed the title so that it's less ambiguous.

Yeah in fact if anything I think it'd be good to wait for the MLG rules and just copy them to give everyone preparation.

lol This is really so that there's more activity in the game room in order for them to stay alive. It's likely that I'll be at MLG (not for Brawl) though. I don't mind waiting for their official rules.

I want to be here for Naruto and Brawl...

Also, the ruleset I use is better, but makes more sense to run what MLG is running and chances of them doing anything but the standard is pretty much bleh. Just run the tournament with your current ruleset, its fine.
