Overall I was disappointed with myself and my performance this tournament... I know it's silly for a Ganon main to be ashamed of his 17th/41 placing, but I still am. I've gotten 17th in the past 4 or 5 tournaments I've been to, which has been a major step backwards for me in comparison to getting 7th-13th most of the time in late 2009.

Low tiers were very disappointing too... I had to fight Ike after Ike after Ike, which is my least favorite low tier matchup. I should have done better.

Despite all of this AND running a fever throughout the tournament, I did in fact have a good time. It was nice to meet new people (M2K, Shugo, the MN folks I hadn't met yet, etc), as well as seeing all of my friends again. It's just that my performance frustrated me and made me consider quitting Brawl (I'm not). Expect to see some major changes by the time the next tournament rolls around, likely in the form of a different character; usually when I say this, I'm just messing around... but as you can see, I'm pretty **** serious right now.

I think he plays a little melee... but what's your reasoning behind him switching? And you don't look like a d*ck, you're just making a suggestion. Are you trying to say he'd main Ganon in melee and that would give him a better chance? If so, I definitely agree with you. Outside that, Melee is such a HUGELY developed game, that if you're having a hard time trying to master one fighter (Brawl), making a transition to Melee will give you the same problems :<. Just my .02

Melee is mad..mad hard. Brawl is all about patience

I've been practicing Melee whenever I've seen an open setup... I'd be very good at it if I was able to develop any kind of tech skill. Believe it or not, maining Brawl Ganon makes you excellent at prediction, reading, tech chasing, and such. It's just that my melee tech skill is pretty much 0. I can wavedash and L-cancel and all of that if I'm focusing on it, but I really have no idea how to integrate it into my game other than hours upon hours of playing. And I enjoy Brawl more than I enjoy Melee at this point, so I'm not sure I'll ever be able to motivate myself enough to get good at Melee.
