PSC 13 Poll is up~

Welcome to the PSC - the PokeCenter Spriting Contest! Think your spriting abilities have what it takes to be the very best, that no one ever was? Well then you've arrived at the right place. Each "week" will feature a prompt developed by the head - that's me - for all the members. Each spriting member would then submit their created sprite following the rules and guidelines of the prompt.

Rules - You follow these, like the good children you are.
1. All global Smash World Forum rules.
2. Please have your sprite follow the theme / prompt and make sure it's in the right dimensions. (D/P/Pt/HG/SS sprites are 80x80, G/S/C/R/S/E/FR/LG sprites are 64x64, R/B/Y/G sprites are 54x54)
3. Don't steal. Stealing is bad.
4. If you have questions about the PSC or have any ideas or themes you want to have tried all you have to do is post here about it or shoot me a VM/PM.
5. Constructive criticism = Yes. Spam = No.
6. A transparent background (most of you know how to do this anyways) is preferred.
7. Editing is only allowed at a minimum. You cannot abruptly switch your sprite idea to something else. Acceptable edits are edits regarding colors, outlines, etc. I will determine what type of edits are or are not acceptable.
8. You are not allowed to, under any circumstances allowed to vote for yourself. If we find you are doing so, your submission will be ignored and a new poll will be made. Plus, Spire will eat you.
9. Please pay attention to deadlines. If you post your final submission 2 minutes after the deadline, tough Slowbros.
10. Most importantly, however - have fun! This is a chance to show off what you're capable of to your other PokeCenter members, so make it worthwhile.

Another question. Do the sprites have to be brand spanking new or can they be one that you already have?

Also, what do you score on? Complexity, details, etc. or something?

I don't really like this week's theme (since it was difficult for me to find any combos I liked >.>) but I did manage to find one.

Camerupt + Lapras



Campras/Lamerupt? Lamerupt has "Lame" in it though, so I think I'll go with Campras.

Just as a note, this isn't my final submission, as there are a few things I want to fix and maybe add. But in the event that I forget to say that it is my final submission by the deadline, this is my final submission in that scenario. Just in case. >.>

Related: Are we allowed to scratch things or use items/non-Pokemon sprites not from the 2 chosen Pokemon? The Diglett in the OP has both a cloud and a fishing rod, so I'm wondering if "outside" sprites are illegal.

EDIT: So I was looking at my Pokémon sprite poster in my room. I looked at Kangaskahn. Then I looked at Aggron. Oh crap. I used the D/P sprite for Aggron and the HG/SS sprite for Kangaskhan. Is that okay?

I've got my idea and all, and I've gotten working on my sprite (not finished yet at all), but I may toy with some more ideas, so I'll hold off on posting it until closer to the deadline.

Two questions:

By "fusion", you don't mean splicing?

If we mash together a RBY and a FRLG sprite, what dimensions should be use?

I'm pretty sure fusion = splicing -- any sort of combination of two Pokémon.

And I can't speak for Tery, but I'd probably say you should keep the dimensions of whichever generation you end up adapting. I.e., if you make the fusion look like it's from RBGY, use those dimensions. If you make it look like it's from Gen III, use those dimensions.

That's perfectly fine. THe only "restrictions" would be the two Pokemon you would have had to choose.

He very easily could mean this week. After all, I was considering devamping a 3rd gen Pokemon and then splicing them in RBY-style. I eventually decided I was too lazy, but the point still stands. Mixing RBY with RSE is kinda weird though. I'd be interested in seeing how that turns out.

Well in that case the dimensions will be up you, but keep them within the limitations for each respective generation of sprites.

Although I really hated the prompt more than I thought I would. No combination would agree with me. I tried about 5 before I gave up on it and decided to choose a Wynaut/Squirtle that I had laying around for my sprite...

This prompt is just asking for some Seakipz.

Although not coming from me. I have bigger ideas in mind.

Too bad Charmander can't read the rules.

And Annoying, again I apologize but I'm only letting Roacherman slide once. However, this is the 2nd time there's been a conflict with your submission: the first when you completely changed sprites. Should there be a third and I will not allow you to participate in the second week of PSC. Consider this your final warning.
