Character Hitboxes - HARDCORE DOTS EDITION

This is a collection of animations for the hitboxes of the attacks for every character. I'm still building it up and hopefully when it's completed I can start doing special requests like interaction between two characters.

Some images have transparent/solid hitboxes while others may only show the outlines of hitboxes. This is due to my plugins being screwy and has nothing to do with the property of the hitbox. The color of the hitbox is the only thing that determines its property.


Body Hitboxes
Yellow Hitbox - If an opponent's red hitbox collides with this, the character gets hurt. This is called a hurtbox.
Blue Hitbox - Completely invincible and out of the game. Cannot be hit.
Green hitbox - Invincible but can still be hit and cause hitstop for the attacker.
Red Hitbox - The actual hitbox of the attack and the true area it covers.

I prefer fireblasters method to links. Rather just have them all in one place, even though you have to scroll.

i want to see falcons uair, especially the tipper hitbox and the reverse (forward hitting) horizontal hitbox.

Yeah, it's called a nipple spike in Melee.

I don't understand why they made his leg hitbox so weird. His feet hurtboxes are practically exposed (poking through), and it seems it's safer to spike facing away from your opponent than towards, if you expect to be attacked.

I guess you could use Falcon Logic(TM) and say that by leaning his torso back he is actually forcing a column of air downwards with sufficient force to spike someone. That's how manly he is. He kills people by pushing AIR at them

that's interesting. It kinda makes sense since you can spike them facing away but still facing the ledge

lol why just why some hitboxes are so overlarged and have nothing to do with the real character image?

edit: pikachu and kirby, aka the "hitbox themselves chars"

I want to see how much range Kirby's up tilt has, same with ness up tilt and Link down air.

In terms of yoshi, his egg hitbox if possible.

As expected ness utilt and uair cover most of his body, and dk's giant punch hitbox is ridicuously huge.
Fox bair is so gay aswell, but i expected link's dair hitbox to be bigger. i remember trying to hit links head while doing his uair and still getting hit

It's even better when you look at Fireblaster's avatar and realize just how much they exaggerated the size of Kirby's foot compared to its actual hurtbox.

It's like 3x the length the length of his foot, combos into itself on any character, is the fastest utilt in the game, and breaks shields. gj Sakurai

isai explained it, it has to do with using noka's cheats and playing as char #3 on the mario btt stage, i think you can search in the "battlefield playable" or something like that thread for it.
there might be an explanation on his channel as he uploaded hitbox vids, but i am unsure.

I always knew falcon's usmash was that broken.

I really wanna see pikachu's fsmash and fair, and falcon's fsmash.

I think mario's upsmash lasts more than average moves so that makes it better than the hitbox shows.

And lol yes, falcons upsmash is also "I go hitbox myself" mode

someone could post all the images or "mini clips" with the hitboxes and hurtboxes of all the attacks somewhere and posted it in the smash index....i think is a very importart and intersting new information....

also, could you show: fox uair, pika utilt, mario down b, samus fair and bair

Link is clearly the least broken of all characters.
He has disjointed hit boxes because of his sword, but the hit boxes themselves are all normal sized, if I'm interpreting that correctly.
Meanwhile the characters that fight with their body get enormous hitboxes...

This. Half the time people end up running into it, thinking it will end earlier than it does. Also, it helps that his head is invincible during the attack. You'd think he briefly transformed into Metal Mario and got a head of steel or something, how painful sounding that attack is. Whenever I get hit by it, I'm reminded of a time I got kicked in the shin really hard. That move seriously hurts.

Yeah, after going through all the characters' hitboxes, this occurred to me, too. It seems Sakurai was overcompensating for the other characters' lack of a sword. Link is the only character whose hitboxes held no surprises for me whatsoever. No hidden invincible body parts or anything unexpected. In a sense, Link is the most honest character in the game.

Just look at Metaknight now, his hitboxes makes absolutely no sense.

Sakurai obviously just hates Link. He gave him a pretty awesome nair in Melee, but otherwise didn't give him what he gave characters like Marth or Falco.
Brawl Link is of course just a joke.

I'll admit, Izaw's Link is entertaining to watch, but that game is just ********.

I only play the hacked versions of Brawl (plus, minus, etc.).
Otherwise I'd much rather play Melee or 64.
