Where should the championship event be held?

Welcome to the Kansas, Iowa and Missouri Brawl Circuit; a circuit for competitive players of Super Smash Brothers Brawl in the area. This circuit will help foster competition and improvement for every participant by keeping an active tally of tournament records and by ranking players with circuit points. The inaugural season of the KsIaMo Circuit will begin on July 10, 2010 in Wichita, Kansas! The season will run from July to December and will include 1 Metaknight banned Event and conclude with a Championship Event. Each state has representation in the circuit. The coordinators for each state are as follows:

~Rules~

We are going to go with the MLG rules for a standard. Tournament Officials may make minor changes; however, we are going to try to keep everything as consistent as possible.

~Payouts~

Singles
1st - 48%*
2nd - 22%*
3rd - 14%*
4th - 8%**
5th - 4% each
15% is taken out for the singles circuit cut
*Should less than 32 people show up to an event for any reason, payouts will be altered to 55/30/15 for Singles
**Should less than 64 people show up to an event, payouts will be altered to 55/30/10/5

Doubles
1st - 55%
2nd - 30%
3rd - 15%
15% is taken out for the doubles circuit cut

Payouts will be rounded and equalized in accordance to "fairness." If you have a question regarding what that means, speak with your TO.

1st: 50%
2nd: 25%
3rd: 15%
4th: 10%

Doubles Circuit Payout
1st: 55%
2nd: 30%
3rd: 15%

~Points~

For each event you attend you will receive points based on how you place! The higher you place, the more points you receive. Points will be accessed after the results for each event are posted and future events will use the points from previous events for seeding. If a tournament fails to reach a minimum of 16 singles entrants and 8 teams entrants then the points for singles and doubles will be halved. For Doubles, points will be given to each team not to each player. The Championship Event will be worth 1.5x KsIaMo Circuit Points.

How Team Points Work said:
Teams points are for your team. Should you change team members, your most used team for the circuit will get exactly one fourth points for your other placements added to your total score. Your other teams cannot be considered for prize money and are effectively "disbanded". If you have a different teammate each time, your most recent teammate will be used.

This rewards consistent teammates, but doesn't punish you harshly if you have to have a random teammate.

You may only receive prize money for one team at the end. The most played (or most recent if the teams all had the same number of events) will be used and that team is effectively disbanded and cannot be included in the rankings.

If you change teams mid-season, you will get 1/3rd the points from your previous events added to the team being ranked.

All teams points are used for seeding for the championships.

Just a question, you have to live in these states to recieve points, correct? IE, if Texas, for example, came to these events, would they be gaining points even though they aren't from one of these three states?

As of right now, I do not believe that Texas, or any other state would be excluded. I will figure this out before the end of the night. Also, would anyone like to team with Fino for the circuit.?

People out of ksiamo are welcome to participate in the circuit. If Texas or Oklahoma came to an event and placed they are welcome to keep or relinquish their circuit points, in which case they will be redistributed accordingly. I would assume players, such as Trent, from Nebraska would participate in most of the circuit events and would want to keep their points since they are still within the vicinity of most circuit events; however, a player, such as Dojo, may come to a SLAST and take first, but considering there would be 5 other events it would be relatively worthless for him to keep them.

Very unlikely; however, a top 5 placing could happen. It seems rather pessimistic to assume that someone outside of ksiamo would come in and sweep a circuit and take all the circuit pot. Are you implying that our area is this weak? Perhaps this will be a minor incentive to prevent it from happening.
You could also look at this as a redeeming factor. If you place poorly at a couple events, you still have a chance to pull it back and earn part of the circuit pot. Additionally, missing an event won't severely punish you.
Please keep in mind, the goal of the event is to stimulate growth and competition!

well, it almost happened with lain in the MW-W circuit, although i think he only took first at one event and placed top 8 or something at two others. i'm just saying.

Nebraska hasn't shown it's ability to host tournaments as kansas, iowa and missouri have. You are welcome to join the circuit Trent, but Nebraska hasn't held a fair sized brawl tournament in a long time.

Isn't there enough regional divisions? I thought it would be clear and concise to just have the states involved. There is the Midwest, divided into the Midwest:East and Midwest:West. If we had the Midwest:West, as done before, we would be excluding Nothern States such as Minnesota. Hence, it would have to be something along the lines of Midwest:west:south, or we divide it into Midwest:North and Midwest:South, coupled with a Midwest:East, it kinda makes the labeling obfuscating.

I'm the only one that goes beyond Iowa or Kansas for Brawl nowadays.

You should ask Rauleen/Future. They are in control of the Missouri host/part of the circuit. I believe Rauleen mentioned to me having a tournament ready for September, but perhaps for Missouri's second host. If it's part of the circuit, people will come for circuit points.
