Side event (undicided) : ???PM

LOCATION

Darklink and KiraFlax's place
2131 E. 10th St #2
Tempe, AZ 85281

Please don't use a GPS navigation system (or Google Maps or Mapquest) to get to my address. It'll route you through a permanently closed gate.

From ASU: go east on University, turn right just before you get to Price Rd/101 (into the Jack in the Box plaza). The condo complex is in the back corner of that plaza. Go into the condo complex and follow the road all the way to the back gate. I live in the building to the right of the back gate, in the back, away-from-the-gate corner.

From the 101: take the University exit and turn west. Turn left immediately into the Jack in the Box plaza. The condo complex is in the back corner of that plaza. Go into the condo complex and follow the road all the way to the back. I live in the building to the right of the back gate, in the back, away-from-the-gate corner.

Parking: Most of the parking are assigned spaces to residents, but there are a bunch of visitor spots around the complex. Here is a map of them. Pretty much any space marked "Visitor" (usually with a yellow curb) is fair game, as are any of the spots by the pool.

By Orbit: Take the Orbit Mercury line to Escalante Center (it picks up around College & 6th at ASU, I think). Head east a tiny bit and you'll see a gate closing off a condo complex to your left. There is a human-sized door in the left part of the gate that's usually open. If it's closed, give me a call

This time we are having one payment for an entry into brawl singles and brawl mk ban! This Strictly means u may not pay part of the price to get into one only, its all or none or get screwed over.

GENERAL RULES

* 3 Stock

* 8 minute timer

* Items are set to "off" and "none"

* All sets with the exception of winner's finals, loser's finals, and the championship are best of 3 matches (best of 5 and above should be played out for any "finals" matches)

* In the event of a dispute, controller ports will be selected by Rock-Paper-Scissors

* No player may choose a stage they have already won on in that set unless agreed upon by both players.

* In team matches, the ports will be determined in a 1221 fashion; whoever wins the RPS will choose first, then the opposing team will get their ports, and then the teammate of the RPS winner will get the last port.

* If the timer runs out, the victor is determined first by stock and then by percentage.

* Metaknight's Infinite Cape glitch is banned.

* If a game ends with Bowser doing his suicide klaw and it ends in sudden death, the sudden death will be ignored and that game will count as a win for Bowser. ***

* You are responsible for your own controller and name tag. Any malfunctions or errors that occur are your responsibility, so bring an extra controller if possible and always check to make sure you're using the correct settings BEFORE a match is played. If a match is to be restarted due to controller functions, it must be agreed upon by both parties.

* Any action that can prevent the game from continuing (i.e., freezing, disappearing characters, game reset, etc.) will result in a forfeit of that match for the player that initiated the action. You are responsible for knowing your own character, and must be wary about accidentally triggering one of these effects.

* Stalling is banned.

Stalling: The act of deliberately avoiding any and all conflict so that one may make the game unplayable. Running away from an opponent to reach a better position is not stalling, while doing an infinite grab endlessly against a wall is. Any infinite chain grabs must end quickly after 300% has been reached so as to prevent excessive stalling. ***

Set format (In Order of Procedure):
1. Opponents choose their characters for the first match ***
2. Opponents start the stage striking procedure
3. Each player may announce one stage to be banned for counterpicks of the set
4. The first game is played, using the stage chosen during step 2
5. The loser of the previous match announces the next match's stage from either the Starter Stage List or the Counter Stage List
6. The winner of the previous match chooses their character
7. The loser of the previous match chooses their character
8. Repeat steps 5-7 for all proceeding matches
*Double blind character selection may be called for the first match

Additional Rules for Doubles Play

* Life Stealing is allowed

* Set team attack to ON

* Hanenbow may be moved from Ban to Counterpick for Doubles

* Port slob picks: On a player's counterpick, that player may opt to redo the port selection process with that player or team picking their port first.

* Resolving Ties: Any games ending in time running out should always be decided by stock, and then percents. If percents are the same or both players die simultaneously, there will be a 1 stock overttime or the sudden death will be played out. The TO needs to decide which of these will be used before the tournament. Bowser's suicide klaw is exempt from this rule.

* Color Blind rule: Should a player have a color-based disability, he or she may request in a teams match to have a specific color for their team. This is so characters such as Lucario or Sonic can be granted the blue team so that there is not unnecessary confusion.

* Wiimotes and Classic Controller users should know to take the batteries out of their controllers after finishing a set; not only will this save battery life, but it prevents accidental intereference and delay for tournament matches.

* The Mages DQ rule: After a match has been called, if a player is two minutes late he will receive a warning. At 4 minutes late, he will be given a loss for the first game of the set. After six minutes, he will be given a loss of the entire set.

* Players are responsible for knowing the rules. No more than the previous match should be replayed in the event of a rule violation and it is recommended that any disputes be brought promptly and quickly to the TO's attention.

* The semi-final and championship sets should be in at least best of 5 format.

* Drugs and Alcohol should be prohibited at most tournaments due to minor involvement and potential legal issues.

* Initiating ANY suicide move results in a victory for the person who initiated it

* Ice climbers infinite is legal up until 200%

* Be nice to KiraFlax.

* 40 Ledge grab Rule: You cannot grab the ledge any more than 40 times in any match. Breaking this rule results in automatic match lost.

* The Tournament Organizer has the final say period, and the right to kick anyone out.

Chris

My birthday is next month

So....

you should totally host Melee for your next tournament (assuming it's mid September)

or you could host a straight up Melee tournament assuming there isn't one in Tucson

**** it almost got into bracket in Apex. in secdond round of pools it was between me and inui to make it out.We had the same set score and I beat inui in pools but he got to go on because he had a 0-2 and he had a 1-2 with blue rouge which put him one more win ahead. in the end he had 8-6 and i had 7-5 FML.

Also beat boss in tourny! In mms Will, San, almost beat holy nightmare's meta, logic, tusm, smurf, super duper close with jband's metaknight, and Rain's metaknight (japanese), and Chibo sempai (currently best rob in the world).

Don't say stuff like that, 'cause then he'll start to believe it. Honestly, you did better against me than Chibo did and I think you're a bit better. Or maybe it's just because your playstyle is different. Me and .com were talking about it. You play a much more aggresive ROB and you make it work.

Also, why didn't you stay Pit in our set? You probably would've won.

I didnt because I already won with pit so i acomplished what I wanted to do with him. At Apex it was mostly about the experience not the money. I tried figuring a way to do it with rob, maybe some day i can figure out something that will make rob win in that match up. That was my motivation at the time. BTW i have to say ur DDD is so much better then what people think. Ur definately better then ling ling's DDD and everyone i ask says his DDD is like third best. why doesnt many recognize you as a really good DDD, did u get like way better you think like right before APEX?

That makes a lot of sense. I can see where you're coming from, and that is a very good way to improve at this game. I wish I had your mindset because I've been having a huge MK problem for the longest time, but that' another story.

I guess you can say I "stepped it up" sometime around the beginning of PA's current season. Before then, I hit a huge slump and just stopped playing well. I was going to tournies, not winning sets, not feeling motivated to play. I've always had people say "You're good, you just need to care." So, that's what I did. I found some type of push to actually try at this game, and the results have been a little better than I expected.

Also, we got out of the habit of only going to Jersey tournaments, where everyone and their mother plays MK. We went down to MD/VA one week. Kinda got bracket *****, but I still did OK in tourney, won a few good MM's too. Then, we went up to NY and I did extremely well there. For once I had momentum on my side, and I just carried it through to Apex.

Thanks for the complements, dude, it really means a lot. Everyone's been noticing that I've been improving, and that's really all I want. Both your Pit and your ROB are really good, and I hope you go far with them.

Tournament format changed to round robin/top into bracket possible at my discretion

Doubles will not happen unless we get a minimum of 5 teams which (90%) won't happen, so from 1pm-3pm it will just be friendlies/hanging out

Tuscon are you coming?
