Ok, so I figured it's about high time we made one of these, since Meno's sticky only covers glitches and minor mechanics information. There's a lot of things that should be common knowledge that aren't (like Norfair mechanics), so I think this would be a very useful thread to have.
With that said, Credit to Meno for his format, since I'm borrowing his Pictures/Layout for simplicity and consistency. Obviously, stages with very few mechanics to research (Like BF, SV, or FD), will likely not have much in the way of research topics dedicated to them.
