How YOU Doin'? -The Tournament Results Thread-

Ever since the closure of Ankoku's excellent Tournament Results thread, there hasn't really been a place to discuss relevant tournament results, placings and trends...until now. Though not as scrupulous as Ankoku's previous work, this thread will attempt to compile the most recent results of each notable sub-region in the United States for up to the past four tournaments.

To navigate the results, please select your umbrella region--West Coast, Midwest, South or East Coast--and then the particular sub-region you're interested in. Shouldn't be hard, right?

HOW TO SUBMIT RESULTS

Please make a reply in this thread with the following:

Note: If there are two competing tournaments in the same region on the same date, ONLY THE MOST RELEVANT TOURNAMENT WILL BE DISPLAYED. This will be decided by the general level of competition one tournament has in relation to its competition...this will mostly be decided based on each region's individual power rankings, though there will obviously be exceptions. But please don't submit a tournament you won with 12 people when the entire PR was halfway across the state, okay?

I have literally absolutely no idea how to divide them, or where to find their results, or if they update regularly, or anything...feel very disconnected, I guess. If someone could guide me I guess I could, though.

Grand Finals was unable to finish. Set 3 did not have enough time to be played, but Kain/Lain agreed to a best of 1 to determine 1st/2nd. Kain was up over a full stock when DLA decides to derp and unplug the power strip turning the game off, so 1/2 split. ****ing DLA...

Auspher, what's the differentiation between Midwest/West and Midwest/East? What states are included in each? Which of those tournaments is which?

I've actually never heard of Midwest/West and Midwest/East. I only hear people refer to our region as just the Midwest, lol. And both of those tournaments are in like...the middle of the Midwest. o_o

Coney love the idea. Where are you going to include the states like Utah, AZ, Colorado, Texas etc.? We're grouped in the Southwest but I guess you could count Utah as West Coast and Texas as South?

Are there strong enough scenes and enough activity in those regions? If so, I'll add them somewhere within the "big four."

Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah are technically under South West in the regional boards.

Why aren't the regions divided like the regional zones are?

Z'zgashi, I need links to the results before I can put them in.

Everything's been updated. I'll update with more states and results as they start flowing in. I did MD/VA since it's my own region, if you guys are curious as to how the format's going to look.

If anyone wants to give me their region's past four tournaments, do so and I'll put them up.

If you were willing to add a section for Canada, I wouldn't mind helping out with that. Canada would only need to take up one "big" region, and simply dividing it into two sub-regions (one for East, one for West) would probably work pretty well. WC has 2 provinces with regular monthlies and an occasional larger tournament, and EC has 3 provinces that I believe have regular tournaments as well (I'm not as familiar with how their communities work though). I believe each of those provinces has a PR as well.

I/someone else could also do that for Australia. We only really have 4 large-ish regions so doing each one's most recent tournament would be viable.

WI should be included in midwest east imo.

imo anything east of mississippi = east anything west = west

tbh its more like midwest east, midwest west, and IL/surrounding area lol. Il could go either way they dont travel very often but then will go either east or west when they do.

Coney I'll give u a lil' heads up about EU
There's a big 5: France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, UK (alphabetically, *****es)
(or if u prefer: FR DE NL ES UK)
There's a coupla others but they dont really rep internationally and most of em we dont know too much about so they're less important atm

for UK tourneys u can prolly ask any of Calzorz/Anaky/Kasper
for germany ur man's probably Gheb
NL im sure Lord Chair or Marc or i guess myself could do it
Spain probably has only 1 person here that isn't an odd spamming troll(aka greward) which is Marcbri
And FR i honestly dont know, apparently they even tend to lose results XD, leon could prolly hook us up with some

1 thing tho: our national tourneys(EU nation = US state to keep it real simple) aren't rly frequent, is there like a limit how far back u can go?

What are the requirements for a tourney to be listed in terms of entrants? What's the maximum of time passed until results of a tournament no longer count?

Don't care about entrants...if something is relevant, it'll be posted. Of course, tournaments with more entrants are inherently more relevant. The last four tournaments of each particular sub-region will be represented, which makes it not a matter of time, but frequency.

I'm willing to do whatever. My concern is that there's some kind of character limit for posts, in which case we'd be pretty boned.

Anyway, I'll add new sections as I get new results. The real intent of this thread is to compile results like Ankoku's thread while generating discussion about placings, insights and trends...in short, what's really going down. Each week if a tournament from a particular region is reported, it'll take the place of the oldest tournament within that region.

Theres an image limit. You can only have so many pics and emoticons. You have an unlimited amount of text though.

Also, you should have a section for nationals as well, as they don't exactly count as locals and are usually full of better/well known/more important players.
