How come Dphat didn't enter normal singles?

I was trying to think of legit rules for random singles.
I like the 1 character ban.
How'd you guys do stages?
We used this one this weekend, each player is allowed one reset per set if you dont like your character or the matchup. Only 1 though, gotta be careful when to use it.

Stages were regular. Strikes, 1 stage ban, CP.
