This is a Brawl Doubles event with one special rule: Teams must be composed of characters that are part of the same Nintendo series (ie. Mario and Yoshi, DK and Diddy). You cannot use double character teams (ie. Wario & Wario).

How about payouts?

I know it's MK banned but I still have to take them into account for other reasons...

The entry fees and payout information are in the original tournament thread. The number of entrants in each event is listed in this thread.

If you need help calculating let me know. I don't have numbers on me right now, would have to recalc.

UltimateRazer- enjoyed playing you again, apparently i still need to get better at my best matchup :(

ALSM- i always lose to TL's at phase... great set, also first shield ive broken in tournament :O

Ojih~Sama- your wolf is great and I enjoyed all of our matches.

This was my first tournament xD

I had a great time everyone, and I won't be surprised if we play again, because I plan to attend more tournies in the future to improve myself. I didn't get to play everyone, but those that I did play... good games! Fogo, did you get that Nayru's Love Jump down? And ALSM, had a really tough time against your TL. Going to work on this MU more. Nice work!

4: Denti (Olimar) - Seems like these 3 above are the only ones stopping you now.

Thanks! Yeah I was surprised we went to time on that second match. I need a lot of work though. Especially on powershielding, approaching/getting in. Keep working on TL and Link, too good! ^_^

Heh, that's right xD Just don't forget that the Love Jump causes you to lose your jumps, so use them wisely. I find them especially useful for moves that cause a huge horizontal knockback, such as Meta Knight and Fox's downsmash, that way you're not too far off stage when using up b, and not as prone to being edge-hogged.

Nice meeting you too. We'll play again sometime. Keep up the great work!

They left before the tournament was "technically" finished. I told them to do whatever with the money and let me know who gets 1st/2nd/3rd, but haven't heard back from them. They typically place 1/2/3 so it wasn't a big deal.

I did it back in my day. Required me to time someone out for the first time ever. Poor kid still salty about that.

I like how I would have to enter singles just to lose so that I can get a shout-out, even from my own teammate. Lamelamelamleamlmellmmeeaa-pfft. Srsly.

Theme teams is a good idea but it needs more options. Adding certain obvious teams to the list would make it better:

Princess Power: Peach/Zelda (no Shiek)
Puffballs Unite: Jigglypuff/Kirby/(Metaknight)
Add Ganondorf to Team Manly
Villains: Ganondorf/Bowser/Dedede/Wolf/Wario
Bomb Brigade: Snake/Link/Toon Link/Samus
Not-so-side-kicks: Luigi/Pikachu/Yoshi/Falco/Diddy Kong

Obviously, those are just suggestions, but you get where I'm going.

I don't think any of the teams were over-powered. Every option for a great character generated an opposite level partner. Mostly I just thought there were more options for the teams that could have been considered but there's always the next Theme Teams tourney to make adjustments. This was a fun tourney. Srsly.

Yeah haha I just started playing again this tourney. I don't plan on really getting into the game again, but I had fun with theme teams so I'll probly be back again for that.

Gnes - The bird is a love hate relationship. Edit: Mostly just hate though. Yours is showing promise!

Trela - Them fox up smashes... :c

Denti - If we ever play again, I'll be expecting you to know the falco matchup, and for me to know how to recover on halberd, lol!

UTDZac - I still can't believe you actually landed a pivot grab, lol.

ALSM - If you're still offering that link ditto deal @ the next Phase, I might take you up on it :colorful:

Mocha - Impressive zelda. I personally know the life of a low tier main is rough, but you seem to be keeping the pace fine!

Bassem: Apparently my peach is the **** in teams...? Dibs on next theme team!

Yeah, I knew what I got myself into when I decided to main Zelda. She needs more representation though, so I'm going to keep trying to do the best I can.

And keep up the great work, I look forward to playing you at my next tournament. I've been waiting for more Houston tournies to show up, so I'll be keeping my eyes on those. Dallas is a bit of a drive, but I had a great time at my first tourney with all of you =)
