Is Rain going to pick up Falco again? Ever since he mained MK he placed outside of the top 10. Such enormous skill should not go to waste like that.

Edit: What happened to Otori? 0_0

How many entrants? And was there a prize this time? I thought I saw something about it on smashbrothers.org

Come back to Falco Rain!

Also I believe there were 88 entrants. So many entrants for these Japanese tournies. Is it because they get to enter for free?

So close on SLS vs Kakera's ICs game two. He was destroying Kakera's Nana but messed up. Kinda the story of the set. I would love to see Gnes or ADHD vs 9B or Kakera.

I don't see them on the player list so I don't think so.

What the heck happened to Akira?? 2 years ago he was a top player in Japan and now he's getting smacked around?

If Nietono attended this he would've placed top 3.

lol @ Otori oversleeping. He always manages to somehow get into the loser bracket early just to screw it up for the people that have to play him lmao.

I just noticed that Selcia made it to top 5 haha. He must have really stepped it up.

Not necessarily. I can see SLS beating Nietono if he is good at the Olimar match-up (which I'm guessing that he is).

Even so there is losers bracket, and it isn't too likely that they'd fight each other. Last time they were in the same tourney together Nietono didn't lose a set while SLS lost to Kakera and Yui who Nietono beat that same day: http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=311108

Nietono hasn't placed out of top 3 in over half a year but I still wouldn't say its impossible for him not to place out of top 3. Just improbable.

I didn't mention Kakera and 9B because their ability to beat Nietono is a given. With that said, I think that Nietono -- even more so than 9B -- would destroy virtually everyone in the U.S. if only because of how the match-up experience in North America differs from Olimar to Ice Climbers.

I like your opinion. Its much more open than some of the people over here.

It'll be tough for them though. I think 9B possibly has the best ICs in the world and im sure Nietono is the best Olimar, but mks like M2K and especially Anti/Ally are gruesome. I don't know how sets vs these players will go.

I saw Nair0's trash talk haha.

American MKs are a lot better at playing gay than Japanese MKs are at top level. The MKs who play gay in Japan are rarely their top MKs. Someone like M2K/Ally who is both on their level and willing to play gay is something that players like 9B aren't used to -- especially since Ally plays Ice Climbers. All-in-all, U.S. only has two good Olimar players and several good ICs (Vin E/E5AM/Ally) with many decent ones as well (Layn/Highly N/etc.). Furthermore, Olimar is less vulnerable to dumb stage gimmicks than ICs (RC/Brinstar may not be legal at Apex, but there are still stages like Frigate).

Pretty sure it's been over a year.

Nietono has won like the last 2 or 3 sets against Kakera without much trouble.

Nietono too beast. Really wish 9B can come to Apex. Strife is really good at getting people to come even if they don't wanna come lol, I'll speak to him about it again.

Edit: Of course 9B wants to come but has job johns.

If 9b wants to come, I still am saving a buddy pass for him.

Suinoko, if somehow we can raise like 800 dollars you can come too. Idk how to get that though =/
think conversely, it is good that you come to Japan with this money
btw Alex had already asked to get buddy pass, but i havent heard that he could get

Suinoko you are wrong and mistaken. I DO have a buddy pass. I have A LOT of them (like 7), and you and 9b are at the top of my priority list, since I told you first and I also really want to play 9b as well since he is rank 1 in Japan. You two will DEFINITELY 100% chance have a pass as long as you do it within the next month or so.

Suinoko, are you able to pay 800 for a pass?
what about 500?

If you need I can pay the rest for you (I can pay almost half of your ticket if you really need me to and cannot afford it yourself) if that is the only way. Would be a shame for you and 9b to miss Apex.

By the way, respond to me on facebook. We need to talk very very soon.
