Homebrew help

So, I bought the new Zelda game today. It required an update but said that I shouldn't have unauthorized software on my wii. So I aborted, and uninstalled homebrew before doing the update.

Now, I know I should've looked around but for some reason it didn't strike me to do so til after I had uninstalled homebrew and did the update. Now I see that I could've still launched the game through gecko.

My wii still says I'm version 4.3U, which is what I was before.

My question, if it isn't obvious, does anyone know if I can safely reinstall homebrew without bricking my wii or anything else drastic happening?

My homebrew's running perfectly on System Menu 4.3U. :)

If you're worried about bricking it, try installing PriiLoader.

What's PriiLoader I was told by one person that I should be fine, but don't want to suddenly be out a wii.

You should be fine using SmashStack or another method to install Homebrew on 4.3. It's exactly what I did at first, and my Wii is still working fine. :)

But still, install at your own risk, any form of modding has the chance to brick your Wii should something go wrong.

Priiloader is kinda hard to explain, but be careful with it, since it also can brick your Wii if something goes awry during install. I'd link you to it, but I do not know about the rules here in regards to Homebrew websites/applications.
My recommendation is that if you aren't comfortable with heavy softmodding to the Wii, don't worry about Priiloader.

Good to know. :)

I've heard rumors that another System Menu is coming out in December/January, so be careful of that one. ;)

Well, as of right now, I have no intention of buying any more new games for the wii. (Money is so tight right now). So, I'm probably just going to ignore doing any other updates for the time being. Don't know what I would need a new system menu for anyway. LOL

I think apart from maybe some new hardware support, their new System Menus are mainly for patching previous Homebrew hacks/methods..

All that would happen if you updated is your homebrew would be deleted anyway.
