The stems of the leaves have hurtboxes and all that, meaning they'll eat any hitbox that makes contact with them, making this an extremely bad stage for projectile users, because the projectiles will be cancelled out on contact with a leaf.

It is also one of the easiest stages to refresh your moves on, because, as I said, there are hurtboxes littered out all over the stage.

Hanenbow can also be circle camped by some really mobile characters, like Meta Knight and Sonic, by traversing around the lower left leaf, the upper left group of leaves, and the general left side of the 6-leaf structure, which is also one of the big reasons why the stage is banned, if memory serves.

Other Trivia:
- Attacking the leaves repeatedly causes them to shift colors, from green to orange to red. If the 6 leaves on the right side of the stage turn red, then a flower will appear on top of the structure.
- Some characters' Rapid Jabs and multi-hit moves can cause the leaves to spaz out. For example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_V4YpER3VI and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DktwVHFQVqY
- Early on in Brawl's lifespan, this stage was considered as a counterpick stage for Doubles only, which is interesting, I guess.
- Also, Sonic is the best: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSjyHsvvrfE Make sure you watch the whole video, because more than one thing is showcased here.

The only thing John didn't mention are the creatures that come (fish? Can't remember) and "activate" the leaves as they go from one side of the screen to the other.

They don't influence the match in any other way, and the flower John mentioned doesn't either.

I'm pretty sure they are called Hanenbows.
However, their apperance/tempo seems to be random.

You can change the angle they shoot at, though, by attacking the lower left leaf to change where it's aiming.
