Japan believes that neutrals are prime because nothing out of the ordinary or transitional happens. It is also been this way since Brawl came out in Japan.

The Simple answer: Nothing about stages has changed.



Note:
- This changes every once and a while just as the America/ EU Tier list does.
- You may discuss, but do not rant on about how high certain characters are. They are there because they do well in the results of tournies of Japan.

Pretty sure everything below the dotted line is ranked based on nothing, since no one in Japan really uses those characters very much.

Also, Japan has the right idea on Peach. ;)

Zelda and Sheik are a little too high lol and people use Ganondorf in japan

I love how the thinking is automatically 'they use a char we consider bad, therefore they must have a crap metagame' instead of 'maybe the char isn't as terrible as we think he is'.

Not that I think Ganondorf isn't terrible.

Why are Sheik and Zelda only considered one character? If they were separated, how would each of them fare in Japan?

How often do the Sheik players, such as Earth and Cross, even use Zelda?

I see Pit is still pretty high, but not top 4 like he once was in Japan. I think it's far and accurate though.

Fox placement is weird considering he has so many garbage match ups. IC, Pika, and shiek.

It makes sense... does japan even have Pikachus? He's listed really low in the list and I don't think I saw any Pika in their results...
ICs would really be the only one, Fox vs Sheik should be even anyway. :cool:

And he does really well vs MK, and ok against most others.

Falco has the same garbage match-ups, tbh. The main reason Fox is so low now is because he was dropped like 15 places for no reason in tier list 2 and never recovered.

Not that he's as good as Falco but he's definitely high tier at least.

Never lol.

I have watched a lot of crosses sheik. It's really good, but I don't think its like "OMG we are doing something really wrong and he knows the truth lol"

Sheik is much better on paper than IRL, the exact opposite of Snake.

This is a character icon version of the tier list.

Here are some things I find interesting/funny/cool about this list:

1. :popo: are in a tier of their own. Making :diddy: the S Tier of Europe and :popo: the S Tier of Japan.

2. :jigglypuff: is in a tier of her own for the worst character in the game. Making :ganondorf: the Roll tier of Europe and :jigglypuff: the Roll tier of Japan.

3. :mario2: is above :sonic: in Japan while :sonic: is above :mario2: in America. (Inb4Mariovs.Sonicrant:awesome:)

4. :snake: is quite low on this tier list. He's 6th best in Japan. He usually gets 2nd to 3rd place in other regions.

5. :lucas: is above :ness2: in Japan while in America, he's below :ness2:.

6. This list is very similar to Europe in the way where their tiers # of characters are pretty similar. Japan's list is very unique to America and even Europe's tier list when it comes to character placements (Japan is different from America in Tier #s).

Another thing I would like to say is I find it pathetic how some of you Americans are actually complaining about tier placements in Japan, while you guys (I'm assuming) haven't even been to Japan. You guys wouldn't know much about Japan's metagame.

Edit: Zero Suit Samus and Game and Watch icons aren't working.

Please refrain from saying "You Americans" when you are an American yourself. It looks stupid.

Everybody complains about tier placements even if it's from their own country. I do agree about most not knowing about Japan's metagame.
