Dates are March 31 and April 1
Where: Meerscheidt recreation center, 1600 E Hadley Ave. Las Cruces, NM 88001
Times: Sat: 10am to 10pm, Sun: 10am to 10pm

The Las Cruces Game Convention (LCGC), is an annual event held by the Las Cruces Game Knights, a local video game club. Once a year, gamers from all around compete in high level tournaments while still enjoying themselves with an abundance of free play games. Gamers of all skill levels and genres are welcome and sure to have a memorable time at the LCGC! There is also cosplay contests, food, raffles, trading card games, anime, and small, fun tournaments. The LCGC is a non-profit event with 100% of the proceeds going towards the club, charities and local artists. Come get your game on, and bring serious gaming back!

Venue/Entrance fee: $10 per day or FREE entry if you bring a full set consisting of:
1 TV, 1 System, and 1 Game, 1 Controller other than your own is optional though but it would help us out.

*Super Smash Brothers Melee Rule Set

Matches:
-Sets will be played best 2 out of 3 with the finals (Loser finals, Winners finals, Grand Finals) being played best 3 out of 5.
-Double Elimination.
-Each match is played with timed stock, 4 stocks and 8 minute time limit.
-In the case that time runs out and both characters have an equal amount of lives, the character with less damage wins the match. If both characters have equal lives and damage, Sudden Death will determine the winner.
-Items are turned off.

Stage Selection:

-The first match is played with a Random Stage, from the neutral stages.

-Neutral stages:

-Yoshi's Story
-Fountain of Dreams
-Battlefield
-Dream Land (N64)
-Final Destination

-Second match is played on losers choice of counter pick stage limited to the following list:

-Pokemon Stadium
-Brinstar
-Kongo Jungle (N64)
-Rainbow Cruise

Any stage not included in the top list is banned.

Character Selection:

-For the first match, characters are chosen double-blind - at the same time, so that neither player knows his opponent's character beforehand.
-The loser of the first match (and of successive matches) chooses the next stage, and then the winner chooses his character, and then the loser chooses his character.
-The loser can pick either a neutral stage or a counter pick stage.

Matches:

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Bring your own controller. We can't stress this enough.
Be respectful of others, no excessive cussing or flaming.
We are not responsible for stolen items, and please label them with your name before contributing.
You will have 3 minutes after your name has been called for your match, if you do not appear, you will be disqualified.

so like if i do decide to attend this what day is melee on and how much is the tourney fee
OP only mentions the entry fee

Melee is on saturday, finals will be carried out on sunday.

$5 standard, entry fee.

why are we splitting a tournament into two days when the tournout is most likely gonna be less than 20 ???

Top 8 will be on Sunday. Please don't say we.

I, ShadowPhoenix, am not a part of Gay Knights and never wanted to be in it...

And most definitely will not be attending

(I doubt Albuquerque will either since most of them are going to AZ for Axe's birthday tournament those days )
