Good idea. For young/toon link, you should add in the reason that Sakurai has stated that he finds a 'child' link important in smash bros. for some reason. Obviously that's a plus.

Personally, I think that Ghirahim should make the cut over the others. I don't want people to start saying: He's a one-shot character! He's got no chance! Well, his game is the newest in the series, if he is going to return, there has not been a chance for him to yet. He might of died, he might not, but if he did, Nintendo could easily make another prequel, could they not?

I say we just get the 3 triforce users.

Apparently kid link is there to stay, but tbh I never associated link with child or adult. It was always just link to me. I just figured they used different art styles per game to show him.

I don't really consider toon link to be a child, per se, but the entity "Link" done in a different style.

I'm not sure why different styles have to be "represented" in smash, but whatever.

I would prefer if the scrap Toon Link & just buff Link. If they actually give Toon Link his own moveset that would be great.

Please fix Ganondorf Sakurai, he makes me depressed.

I think they'll keep the Zelda roster and maybe add Ghirahim. It's the only route to take anyway that's any good and those two are our only realistic options.

No Tingle, no Skull Kid, no Midna, and especially no Impa.

The only other potential option outside of Ghirahim is Toon Zelda, given that she was planned for Brawl.

However, I see a Zelda character not being added being more likely than adding her.
Even if Phantom Zelda would be cool to see.

Probably the most likely are Ghirahim and Toon Zelda.

I think you're overestimating Groose's popularity a bit.

I think it'd be awesome if they had a Toon Link trio like the regular trio. Toon Link, Toon Zelda and Vaati. I'd way rather have Ghirahim or Midna though. If they cut Toon Link and added those too, I'd love it.

I wouldn't consider Ganondorf a absolute guarantee. While very, very likely, he does have "some" competition from Demise

I'd love to see a secondary villain; primarily one of the one-shot antagonists; primarily Skull Kid but I highly, highly doubt he can/will get in. So, for a new zelda rep that isn't a version of Link, I am placing my hope in Toon Zelda. But even that is unlikely.

That'd be like saying Bowser wouldn't be an absolute guarantee if he was absent in a Mario game in favor of say, King Koopa Sr. (Bowser's father, who I just made up).

If anything, Ganondorf will take from Demise at the very worst. Which implies a sword like his (without the fabulousness), as well as the lightning strikes and fighting style. Hell, maybe Ganondorf will take an original design based off of Demise if Skyward Sword is meant to be the unified appearance for non-Toon Zelda characters this go round.

But to even think that Ganondorf has a shot at being removed is asinine, no offense.

Ganon in any incarnation has been in more zelda games than any "Competition" he may have.

If a child Link has to be in, I find the concept of Mask Link to be better than the two kid links we've had. An entirely new character instead of... a small Link.

I also vote Ghirahim in. Demise could be a story mode boss, regardless of the events of Skyward Sword.

Tingle is actually pretty popular in Japan, so that is an advantage for him for becoming playable in Sm4sh. I say Midna, Skull Kid and Groose for Sm4sh.

I don't mind Groose, but I really don't think he's deserving of a playable spot.

If we must have a Child Link, my vote goes to Mask Link. There's no possible way he could be a clone, and Sakurai still gets his wish.

As for another Zelda rep, I'm hoping Ghirahim gets in. He's unique in respects to the other characters we're likely to see in SSB4, he has popularity going for him, tons of potential, and he's freakin' FABULOUS.

I guess I would survive if Tingle got in, but I honestly think he's just plain useless.

Everyone forgot sometimes that there is a new Zelda for 3DS and for Nintendo Wii U in development.

Maybe they use designs from Skyward or from those new games?
And what new charactres these games will have?
If Midna, or Vaati returns?
The 3DS upcoming Zelda game will use a child Link? It will substitute Toon Link?

Meh i still believe that zelda is perfect as it sits we have the characters that have history and regularity whithin the franchise all we have left are second rate villains and supporting characters that I see no reason to add as anything more than trophies.

This is exactly my thought process. hahaha :laugh:

Sakurai has access to the current "Zelda"s in development if he feels that Skyward Sword's are style isn't strong enough. (Personally, I think Skyward Sword style Zelda would not work at all.) Plus, Ganondorf and Shiek don't have a "Skyward Sword" art style (and I'm guessing there was no concept art for Ganondorf and Shiek in SS, so this can't be a Brawl/Shiek Concept art easy fix).

It's going 1 of 4 ways:

1. Creating a new art style for the Zelda crew (basically just like everyone else in Smash Brothers.. except Kirby.

)

2. He'll be basing the style of the tech demo, due to it's well-reception. (Maybe he was a big fan of it?)

3. Base it off of concept art, or even the models (depends how far in development the new game is) of the new Wii U or 3DS Zelda game.

or 4. Base it on the Skyward Sword style.

Personally I think the 1st one will be the most likely scenario, possibly taking inspiration from the progress of upcoming Zelda games.. The 4th scenario is the one everyone seems to be expecting.

I also really feel that the upcoming 3DS Zelda game will be the deciding factor of Toon Link's fate. (If there is no "Small/Child Link" He's safe for sure)

Zelda is the series I will probably be watching most alongside Fire Emblem and Metroid as probable overhauls for Smash Bros 4. With redesigns, new skills/weapons, and a massive backlog of fantastic new fighters... somethin' big is gonna go down.

Personally, what I would do:

Link
- Navi will always be hovering over his shoulder.

Zelda/Shiek
- Split off Shiek and convert to Impa. The two characters are now seperated.
- New down specials for both characters, obviously.

Ganondorf
- Whole new moveset. Utilizes iconic moves like the overhead lightning ball throw and etc.

Toon Link
- REPLACED with...

Skull Kid
- Takes a cue from TL's light fast stats and arrives as technically the only newcomer.

Ghirahim/New Villain from Zelda 3DS/Wii U

All-star cast right there. You have the four main Zelda characters + a new villain to balance the good-evil ratio. The "kid" Link spot needs to be scrapped in favor of actual Link. Focus on making him the very best character he can be. Merge the Links into one. By replacing Sheik with Impa, Zelda's moveset could be reworked to be [more] individually capable, and we get a wholesome character out of it. It just makes too much damn sense. Link, Zelda, Impa, Ganon. Those four alone are fantastic. Replace the kid Link spot with Ghirahim/New Villain and it's just perfect. It's the very best that Legend of Zelda could be represented. It is totally balanced and awesome. Five completely different characters.

I'm disappointed that Impa has gained more support since it was revealed she was in Skyward Sword in October. As far as I can see, there is no benefit by replacing Sheik with Impa.

By taking out Toon Link your leaving all of the other LoZ games out to dry ( WW PH SP MC ) Toon Link is representing all those games that are part of the Zelda Lore. Toon link was one of the smartest charaters picks representative wise. Toon Link is differernt enought from link to have is own move set too, they just then to change some things
