Let it be clearly that the next time I host a tournament, it will be done the way it's ALWAYS been done. The owner has his set way of doing things & in all honesty is not interested in changing to it to benefit the community, that was the root of the main problems that happened. Still I'm glad many of you had fun!

Mike got a lot of money for 3rd. Considering payout percents he should have gotten $18 for 3rd, $54 for Penta for 2nd, and $108 for Jtails for first.

Edit: Just saw Mike's post. So the store owner took at least $30 out the pot.... :/

Great Job MGW. Store owner definitely hurt the fluency of tourney but it was the first Smash tourney at his venue. Still had a great time tho. Congrats to the winners.

ggs to everyone and even though my bracket wasnt ideal I got no complaints & played alot like I planned. I at least hope people were impressed

Great work by mgw and jtails in hosting this, a fun second tournament for me, at least I didn't go 2 and out!

Shoutouts to the dulor carpool, doommachine and luigisama, had a good time.

@mgw - i would strongly hope you aren't re-using the venue as the owner was not someone I would want to associate with again.

Jtails asked the owner politely and the owner yelled at him and the owner's wife called Jtails greedy. The owner of the store wanted to make $200 no matter what so from it seems they still made $200 or more, especially with that little extra from the pot.

Yeah, what's done is done though. First time thing, learned from that & will be sure to have things ran the normal way next time I host a tournanent.

Its kinda weird for a place in the Bronx to look decent enough and have polite employees, but no use of their bathroom and that pot cutout and deal...Mabye no offense this is MGW's first time dealing with all this kind of stuff? Still ran decent enough for someones first time either way.

The point is everybody enjoyed themselves. If ya can't have fun u shouldn't be playing video games. In the end we all had fun. I learned a lot this tourney too. Might b gettin bak into this game again.

Placings looks weird compared to the outcomes I saw but since the bracket was made in an erratic way I'm not too surprised. Can't wait for the videos! :kirby:

Yeah, it was only 18 entrants. That was also a weird program, it looked really nice but in the end it kinda sucked, sticking to good ol' tio!

I'll be recording videos wednesday so i'll have a set & some friendlies up, dul0r has all the good matches & he'll be uploading soon!

I never played against Wes lol. This bracket is screwed up. I lost to jtails, got a bye in loser's lose to Link x and get 5th? I think something went wrong.

Yeah I'm done with this crap lol. I just wanna host in a different place & do it the right way. The only thing I'm waiting for out of this tourney is videos.

The owner of this venue wanted to get in contact with me about future tournaments. Who knows, if he will listen to me...this could be a solid venue! But he would not be allowed to take from the pot, and he will have to open his bathroom to the players. Otherwise this will not work! Other than that, thanks for all the shout outs people! I had fun. I've been a lil busy so I haven't been able to upload anything yet. Gunna start that tonight or tomorrow. And also, bad news: the saved file for Grand Finals got corrupted at the event. After thinking about some things, I've actually figured some things out.

The store wasn't to blame about the pot cap at all. It always existed even if 20 people didn't show up. However MGW failed to let everybody who entered know that! The store owner was just trying to make his fair share of the money for letting us use his space.
The venue was spacious enough to hold over 30 people, remember we only actually used half of it, so there was space for more TV's.
The owner was nice enough to give my friend a free comic, by paying the $5 spectator fee. He did this for others as well.
He didn't HAVE to let us use his bathroom. Bathrooms can get really messy and be really tough to clean, so its understandable why not. Would you want 25 random kids using your bathroom? lol
In anycase my only complaint was about the pot which only got taken out of first place, but it was MGW who didn't me or anyone about this. Which is the real fault of things, it was just a misunderstanding.

There won't be anymore cash events at this venue, but the owner is talking to Xbox and Gamestop for big prizes that could be worth more. I mean spending a Saturday to get free stuff? come on now.
I think people were quick to blame the owner, just because it was his store, but no one looked at MGW for being the mediator between the two!
After a lot of thinking, I would actually go back to this venue, there was nothing wrong with it. The owner did us a favor by letting us use his store.

In any case I'm hyped for the sets to be uploaded!

inexperienced Venue Host. Followed no Typical guidelines for a Smash Tournament. Participate at this venue at your own risk, Just an honest opinion.

Note this isn't a Venue for any kind of Major so a Quality Live stream is non existent. Pot, Coordinated Brackets, Personal Relief (toilet), Not happening.

Gotta Love that Freedom of Speech. Don't gotta listen to me if you don't want to, Just trying to save people from wasting their time and money.

All I do is watch Trela videos, I am not at his level. He also does crazier tech stuff like the Double wavebounce (which is pretty ridic to get down lol). I'll get there, I'll be top Lucario in NY soon enough...and then THE WORLD!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA
