I'm so glad I went here again this month. Mampam and Kyon had a wicked set and that last match was just ridiculous. Ex, good job on timing out Viper so many times. Your patience in the game is really one to be admired! Hoping next time I'll place better than last, as I still have lots of work to do and a lot more of the game to explore.

Oh, and Ex, I'm maining with Diddy and Wario now. You can change it next time you post a results thread; Luigi's out of the picture.

I only played one match as Ike and it was a friendly with Viper.

I used Toon Link and Kirby in the tournament.

In any case, that sure was one heck of a show. I can't wait for the next one.

Timed him out three times in a row, actually. It was quite a spectacle to see. I think the set itself went on for almost half an hour or more.

I concur, except since Unity disbanded MK is totally legal now. I was watching the match and ZLF noticed that when you get two players like Ex and Viper, both of whom can have very evasive-defensive patience games, the last stocks when in the high percentage take forever to get finished.

All due to patience, of course.

Hence why all three matches were timed out. The grinding patience of each player just made the action freeze. And again, ZLF noted this. I just added a few things in here and there.

Oh, and I don't know if it actually was best of three. Ex and Viper were in the top 5, so maybe it was best of 5 matches?

Only Finals (Winner's, Loser's, and Grand) are best of 5 unless it's a major tourney.

On a side note, I like going to tourneys and everyone knowing I'm going and still not getting put into the (UMvC3) bracket. I guess that's my fault for helping my friends come to this tourney since they needed me to guide them there. Oh well.

If you're running late and want to enter a bracket, it's typically a good idea to actually let the TO (whose number you have) know that you're on the way. I definitely would have added you in and waited for you, and were the tournament not already into Round 2 of Loser's Bracket, I would have added you in anyway.

I think the Grand final was a great match. Kyon held it strong all the way to the end. Kudos to Trump for doing so well.

It was best of 3, but between match thinking and Viper having to take a bathroom break made the set last about half an hour. Neither of us were aiming for a time out. I put considerable time into the :falco: MU after losing to Lad at NLL and ZeRo told me how to play defensively and zone the character. I haven't figured out how to consistently rush down :falco: yet, so I went with the defensive strategy instead. Then I got to play Mampam and I went very aggro.

It's going to be a little while before I start placing beyond 15th in this tournament, I'll be the first to admit it. I don't get in nearly enough training between a demanding academic load for school and a volunteer job at my library. Still, here's to hoping next time will be better.

You need to work on your recovering with Diddy.
I'd advise watching higher level players and seeing what they do and practicing it.
