5:45pm- Brawl Pro Bracket/ B Bracket/Melee bracket
8:00Pm-Project Melee singles and (Maybe) doubles

Brawl - Condensed Version.

General:

3 stock
8 min. time limit
Team Attack ON
Items set to OFF and NONE


Starter Stages:

Battlefield
Final Destination
Smashville
Pokémon Stadium (Melee)
Yoshi's Island (Brawl)


Other allowed stages:

Castle Siege
Lylat Cruise


Set procedure:

Starter Stage selection.
Character selection.
The winner of the previous match may ban a stage for the next match.
The loser of the previous match declares the stage to be selected for the next match.
The winner of the previous match selects character.
The loser of the previous match selects character.
Repeat from step 3 until 2 victories are achieved (3 victories in finals sets).

Understage Travel Clause is ON
Ledge Grab Limit is 35
Colorblind Rule is ON
Double Meta Knight is banned
IDC is banned

General Rules
• Items are set to off.
• Stock and Time are set to 4 stock and 8 minutes respectively.
• Regular sets are best of 3 matches.
• The Tournament Host is the arbiter of all disputes.
• Blind Picks: the first character selection of a set must be without prior knowledge of the opponent's character selection for both players.
• Modified Dave's Stupid Rule: No player can counter pick a stage he or she has previously won on unless agreed upon by both players.
• Gentleman's clause: any stage may be played on so long as both players and the Tournament Host agree to it, including banned stages. This can be used in tandem with the Modified Dave's Stupid Rule (MDSR).
• Timed out matches will be determined by the remaining number of lives, then percentage of the current stock. In the event of a percentage tie, replay that match. Any Sudden Death match is strictly not to be played.
• Wobbling IS LEGAL. Freeze glitch is 100% banned.
• Tai's Stupid Rule: Mewtwo's Soul Breaker glitch is, in fact, legal. How to get a Red Shell while not interfering with General Rule #1 is up to you!

Additional Rules for Teams Play
• Life Stealing is allowed
• Set team attack to ON

Redwood Counter Pick System
1. Blind Picks character selection.
2. Stage Striking: Players eliminate stages from the Starter Stage List until only 1 remains, and the players then play the first match on that stage. Players strike stages in 1 2 1 order.
3. The first match is played.
4. Winning player of the preceding match bans a stage.**
5. The losing player of preceding match picks stage for the next match.
6. The winning player of preceding match picks character.
7. The losing player picks character.
8. The next match is played.
9. Repeat 4-8 for all consecutive matches as necessary until the set is complete.

**TAJ's Better Rule: A person may either ban EVERY COUNTERPICK STAGE or ONE STARTER STAGE

Is there any way we can do ProjectM Singles at Noon?

It would have a better chance of happening, end quickly, be out of the way, and allow people who want to focus on Brawl focus on Brawl.



I'll even volunteer to run the bracket.

So let's see how much inspiration I feel come this weekend, I've been on the fence with gaming for the last few weeks since I've been so busy.

I might drop by just to see how everyone's doing, or enter Singles.

February is usually a bad month for me because of school. Midterms and all that jazz come up in February, so I am not positive if I can come to this tournament either.

it might be a lot of smash for one day, but I could conceivably go to both this and the ASU smashfest I run every Friday at 7. We'll see how ambitious I feel.

Well, my first midterm was confirmed to be next week, so I will have to skip out on this tournament for sure now. Y'all have fun though!

I have a tooth infection probably won't go. I will be at the next one for sure (With valentines day goodies) .

I can run the 64 tournament on two TVs at 4:00 pm if that is alright.

I will actually not be there today. I've played Smash like it's a part-time job this week and there's some homework that requires my attention.

Barrett the Honors College, Rosewood Hall, 4th floor lounge. Primarily Melee but we do usually have a PM setup or two, and sometimes a brawl setup. If you're interested, you should find the Facebook page "ASU SSBM Weeklies" so you can get reminders, suggest events for us to run that night etc.

the barrets are u kidding me, that was like my hangout place for the longest and they were having smash tournaments the whole time, r yall doin one tonight.

So is this Saturday or Sunday? The post says Saturday but the actual event info says Feb 2nd.
