Pellicon 2013: Brawl, UMvC3, TTT2, GGXXACP

This will be the third annual Pellicon, a convention about gaming, anime, sci-fi, and everything else nerdy, held at Pellissippi State Community College. Our game room this year will be hosting tournaments for:
Super Smash Bros. Brawl - Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 - Tekken Tag Tournament 2 - Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus​

Schedule:

Saturday
• 11:00am - Convention opens, sign ups and free play available in the game room.
• 1:00pm - Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Singles)
• Brawl Doubles will happen when Singles finishes
• 1:00pm Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (runs concurrently with Brawl, feel free to enter both)
• 3:00pm - Tekken Tag Tournament 2
• 5:00pm - Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus
• 9:00pm - Convention closes

Sunday
• 11:00am - Convention day 2 opens, free play all day.
• 9:00pm - Convention day 2 closes.

The convention itself runs from 11am to 9pm on both February 9th and 10th, with all tournaments being held on the 9th (Saturday). See above for tournament schedule. All stations will be open for free-play all day on both days, when not being used for any tournaments.

Rules

The Brawl tournament will be run under the Unity ruleset, Meta Knight ban and all. The other games will use standard EVO rules.

Although we will have some controllers available for all systems, you are advised to bring your own controller to avoid complications (this goes double for anyone who plays a stick on the non-smash titles). Please avoid the use of wireless controllers if you have the option (bringing a Wiimote/Nunchuck is of course ok if that's what you're used to playing on).

Prizes/Entry Fees

Unfortunately we will be unable to hand out cash as a payout due to college policies, and the e-giftcard method we used last year is no longer reliable. As a result, there is no entry fee for tournaments (beyond the "venue fee" of getting into the convention), and pre-bought GameStop giftcards will be handed out as prizes for the winners. The spread is as follows:

GameStop Giftcards of the following values:
Brawl (Singles) - $30 for 1st place, $10 for 2nd
UMvC3 - $20 for 1st place
TTT2 - $20 for 1st place
GGXXACP - $20 for 1st place

No prizes for Brawl Doubles. Brawl gets a bigger pot because it always gets so many more entrants than the others.

You will need to buy a pass to the con to get into the tournament. You won't have to pay anything aside form that. Saturday-only passes (the day with all the tournaments) cost $10, and full-weekend passes cost $15. If you're a PSCC student, bring your student ID to get a $2.50 discount.

We apologize for the fee/payout structure, but this is the best we can do under the circumstances.
