Yes folks, here it is: John Stewart vs. Steven Colbert.

Witty vs..... well, Colbert.

The big question is: Who do you prefer and why? Back your answers up or I won't care. I want to find out what the big deal is with this Colbert character. He doesn't make me laugh as much as he seems he should.

Obviously, my I prefer The Daily Show way more than Colbert Report. The wittiness and the cleverness of the show just fits my type of humor perfectly. Colbert's show just seems like he's trying too hard for laughs. Almost to a family guy degree.

Colbert Report. I'm a huge fan of satire, and the personality that Colbert has created is both epic and legendary. And, this is the Internets. Any Internets addict can tell you injokes make for many lulz.

Plus, John Stewarts interviews are terrible. Just... really bad -_-

personally, I'm a big fan of both... I think I'd have to pick the colbert report, but it's a close one... The newer episodes of the colbert report haven't been as epic as the old ones, though. IMO, Jon Stewart isn't that funny, but his correspondents definitely are. Both shows can make me laugh, so I'm happy with them both.

I prefer Colbert. Although the Daily Show is funnier, Jon Stewart is way too one-sided. Basically, he pushes everything as left as possible while Colbert will joke about both sides.

Also, Colbert will have guests who disagree with him. He'll have Atheists, slackers, LIBERALS, and others like that. While Stewart usually only has guests if they agree with what he thinks.

God, I love it when people say what I'm about to say, leaves out the difficulty of making what I want to say easy to understand. Thank You.

Colbert is much, much funnier than Stewart, but it would be a close one between Colbert and the correspondants. Also, Colbert is more widespread, and makes fun of everything possible. My choice between the two shows, Mind Of Mencia. You can't beat the beaner.

The Daily Show has some great moments, but I definitely prefer the Colbert Report. TDS is fiarly predictable aside from some of the correspondent segemnts. One thing that hurts the correspondent segments though, is that Jon Stewart is basically terrible at playing the straight man.

Also, Colbert's interviews are far more interesting that Stewart's. There's a lot more depth to Colbert's, since he is often pretending to agree with people while making them look stupid, while Stewart usually gets somewhat confrontation if he disagrees with someone.

I also like the Report for the variety of humour. TDS barely deviates from politics while the Report is more about the character. He has tumbling routines and guitar solo contests and sci-fi cartoons and eagle porn. When TDS deviates from its norm it usually comes off half-*****.

Though I love both shows and both hosts. Even if Colbert is funnier, Stewart goes on other people's shows and knocks them off the air. Also, I think the newer correspondents on TDS are underrated because people fear change.

I'd go with Colbert Report, though I like them both.

Mind of Mencia makes me cry.

Colbert is awesome.

The Daily Show is funny... but I stopped watching it once the Report came out.

Same.

There are a few things that bring the level of the Colbert Report above that of the Daily Show. For one, Colbert's interviews are absolutely hilarious, while Jon's are awful. Also, while the Daily Show is very funny when there's something newsworthy going on, there's not always something newsworthy going on. Colbert is funny enough by himself to overcome this. Lastly, the Daily Shows segments are very hit or miss for me. I find Colbert to be consistently funny, no matter what he's doing. The Daily Show, on the other hand, will sometimes have entire segments that don't do anything for me.

I have to say, however, that I think the Tek Janson segments on the Report are horribly unfunny. They're like a bad Adult Swim original show.

Right now, I really only watch the Report. When it's election time, I'll probably watch both. I remember that in the last Democratic primaries, the Daily Show correspondents went and interviewed the candidates, and got a lot of them to make complete fools of themselves. That was great, and it's something that the Colbert Report really can't do because it just doesn't have the format for it.

Colbert for sure, hands down, and to say that hes not witty, well watch his interveiws. People agree to be interveiwed thinking that they can out-wit him, but always get their nose rubbed in it.

Colbear tops Stewart by a long shot. The only reason why anyone watches the Daily Show is for the correspondents anyway. Colbert's "better know a district" segments are amazing. Just watch 1/17's segment and you'll see what I'm talking about. Good stuff. I love how he never breaks character as well. I would turn gay for Colbert if I already wasn't.

Oh, and John Oliver is one of the funniest people ever, so +1 for the Show.

Did anybody watch Colbert interview O'Reilly a little while ago?

On the surface, it looked like a fairly tame, respectful interview, but if you know a little about O'Reilly's history, you'd realize that at the very beggining of the interview O'Reilly had his *** handed to him.

Look here. A few years ago, O'Reilly was sued for sexual harrasment. Since he settled out of court, it's a fair bet to say that it actually happened.

Remember the first bit of the show?

Colbert: No, I have a restraining order against Jon Stewart. He's not allowed in the building.
O'Reilly: He's jealous. He's jealous of you Colbert.
Colbert: The man is a sexual predator. That's why I had to leave, Bill.
O'Reilly: Is that right?
Colbert: You have no idea what that's like.

Oh, baby. O'Reilly really got burned on that one.

Colbert: We may make mistakes, but we should never admit mistakes.
O'Reilly: No, we should admit them, we should admit them. This was a huge mistake, me coming on here. I'll admit that.

Somehow, I think I know what he's talking about.

The 30% off sticker covering O'Reilly's face on his book was hilarious too, but it wasn't quite the blow that the sexual predator thing was.

See, this is why I love Colbert. I like Stewart, but he'd never be able to pull off something like this. He got close with the whole Crossfire thing, but that was nowhere near as funny. Colbert dominated the interview, and he was hilarious while doing it.

Mediocre already stated the points I was going to make excellently but I would like to add this. Jon Stewart laughs at his own jokes whereas Cobert remains static which increases the power of his jokes in that it almost seems like he's serious.

I like both shows but I'd have to say John Stewart has the better program, the reason why is because he is funny as hell but you also always learn something to where as I feel Colbert is always trying to be funny and its a little much at times IMO

That's the point. They are supposed add comedy and make political news more interesting while keeping the political propoganda in tact. Not only do you learn something but it's interesting as well. I like both but when it comes to which side has more to offer, the Colbert Report wins.

I like both but definitely prefer The Daily Show.

Colbert's created a funny character, and his show is more about being funny with that character, but with TDS, John Stewart is John Stewart (I like his personality more). It's a bit more informative and funny/witty too, and though Colbert's interviews are funnier, I like the kind of things they talk about in Stewart's interviews better.
