Dealing with the DeDeDe Matchup?

Yesterday in tournament I found I was doing pretty well, but got matchuped against a pretty well rounded DDD player. Anybody have advice on how to face this matchup? I found pretty much everytime I was knocked off stage it was a stock due to his edge guard(I could get around it some of the time). What stages would be a good counter pick besides the obvious small stages? I found switching to my secondary(Snake) to be helpful, but overall I'd like to stick to my boy roy all the time.

What I do for characters with good offstage game, is use Up+B prematurely, if you can use it without using your double jump. The second you use your double jump and he can hit you, you're done because there's nothing you can do as a response. Aerial will kill you, air dodge won't make it back to stage. If you use Up+B if you can make it, you'll do some damage, and recover safely.
