Enabling TV out on my Laptop?

Hi, I have a Sony Vaio Notebook model PCG-V505DC1P and I just bought a VGA to S-Video converter which i have connected to my computer and connected another S-video cable to it which is connected to my TV. Now I think everything is configured, but I can't seem to enable TV out on my computer; I can't find it. If someone could tell me what the problem is, that would be awesome

laptops usually have a key combo to switch the video outputs between the built-in screen and whatever it's plugged into (fn+f7 in my case though i've heard of people who have it as fn+f2 and such)
