Turn Around Grab (All momentum cancelled) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL4hH1-6qMU&lc
Found that if you shield after dashing, then immediately press the C stick in the opposite direction of your dash, you will do a turn-around grab that cancels all forward momentum instantaneously.
Sliding Shield Grab - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxsGZujH8MU
If you press shield after the initial dash this makes you do a sliding shield. If you press grab during the sliding shield animation, you can get a momentary shield without losing any forward momentum.
Buffered Roll after Dash Cancel - https://youtu.be/lDjxC04rJfM
Normally, to execute a dash cancelled boost cancelled grab, you have to first do a dash cancel followed by a forward roll and cancel the roll with a grab.
Dash -> C-stick Input in first 4 frames -> Shield -> Forward (roll dodge) -> Grab with A
If you try to regularly buffer a roll dodge after the dash cancel, you will end up just sitting in shield after the dash cancel. I found that there is a small timing window where you can actually buffer a roll dodge AND remove a required button press, making the button inputs for this significantly easier! After executing a Dash Cancel you can buffer a roll by holding shield shortly after pressing the C-stick for the dash cancel. It is a small timing window, and you must release the c-stick for it to work. In essence:
Dash -> C-stick in first 4 frames -> release C stick immediately -> hold shield.
If done with the correct timing, a dodge roll will be buffered. If you press shield too late, you will end up shielding instead of buffering a dodge roll.
This makes the button inputs for the dash cancelled boost cancelled grab essentially this:
Dash -> C-stick Input in first 4 frames -> Shield (Buffer) -> Grab with A
You no longer have to worry about timing the roll dodge correctly, and the button inputs are reduced by one.
