Whoa. I feel like there's something in that image that's supposed to be tricking us though. Pikachu doesn't really look like he's enjoying himself.

If, on the off-chance they've finally decided to remove Pikachu's mediocre Side-B in favor of something a bit more grandiose, I'd certainly be in favor of it though!

The only other thing i can think of, is that there at the bottom of the screen and someone else just died. You know that kinda explosion animation thing that occurs on death. I'd like to be wrong and I honestly would love pika with surf.....or electro ball.

Looks to me like both Mario and Pikachu was blasted of by someone.

It's the streaks caused by someone being KO'd. They have streaks just for "moving fast" or flying through the air now.

It's his side-B. The "water" is simply the hit effect from hitting Mario.

It doesn't really look a lot like water, it's probably just an effect. Instead of dust they went for something more flashy, probably.

On a serious note, it's probably just the effects of a K.O or someone else's attack. It doesn't really look like electric effects.

From the mii-verse pics of colored launches. I assume it's player 2 knocking pikachu in the air, possibly about to be KO. Since it was confirmed that the launches now has color specifying who will get the KO.

its more likely to be a hit animation effect like the sparking colors in brawl.

Yeah I agree with Firemblemnier. It's most likely player two having launched Pikachu (And Mario?) away giving off that blue Aura.

Yeah, this is skull bash. Pikachu looks just like he does when he uses the move in Brawl.

If it's Skull Bash, then that probably means it can be aimed now, since Pikachu is going upward.

Surfing Pikachu would be pretty chill. Dunno if Nintendo would go for it, last reference of it I saw them give was in that PBR game for the Wii.
