alright i had this idea and thought i'd see what everyone thinks.

if we post who we win against and lose against in tournaments, we can get a better idea of how wolf mains are doing in tournaments against certain characters instead of just seeing who's winning tournaments. that way we can also get more realistic information about matchup ratios - if wolf players are destroying falcos or something then we can support the numbers a lot better.

my idea would require people to post their tournament records after a tournament. this should be short and simple.

make sure if your opponent uses several characters that you specify exactly which you won and lost against. this is basically supposed to be by instance; if they go all diddy, you beat their diddy. if they go diddy and MK, you beat their diddy and MK/beat diddy but lost to MK/whatever

here are how we are doing against other characters:

Code:

I like this idea.

Should I name players or just characters? Should I also name my overall placing?

players and characters and whether you won or lost. overall placing only matters in the tournament thread; this is like an in-depth tournament results thread that i think could produce some useful data

YES USEFUL I KNOW THIS IS THE WOFL BOARDS BUT THIS COULD BE A NEW ERA :D

This actually does sound like a good idea. Uhh, guess I'll use the last tourny I went to to start even though it was in december. I used a lot of characters in it but I'll just post the ones I used wolf in at least 1 match in.

HOBO 29.

Singles
Lost - Gnes - Diddy
Lost - Rockettrainer - Lucario

Mid Tier Singles
Lost - Kalo - Wolf
Won - Doomsday - Luigi
Won - Zori - Toon Link

this actually isn't a good way to support matchup ratios because basically the wolfs that frequently go to tournaments can fully define a single matchup, even if they have no idea how to play it

This might be a good idea, kinda like how Texas does their PR... we can give it a go if everyone else is up for it I suppose :o Dammit Tekkie, why do you always have to ruin our streak of lazy uselessness lol

EDIT: What JJ said is true, but... it's the best we've got I guess, there aren't enough Wolf players to show what we want to show :x

Yea i actually dont think it would be that great for match up ratios, but i do think it would be good to help us see what mu's we're having issues with personally and then we can help each other with that.

If I actually submitted my stuff our ratio vs Diddy would drop to like 2/8 :(

Well ... as long as we realize that we shouldn't take our records at face value for match-up numbers it should be OK.

of course not it would be an overall record

i could also list it by player, like gheb's record against diddy, ish's record, etc.

If we play another character and drop sets to other wolf players so they can put the wins on here, we could buff up our numbers hella fast.

On the flip side, we could throw matches to low tier characters and nab E tier in the bag.

Choice with that BBR genius :3

@ Tekkie - You could do something like this maybe?...

Ish:
Falco - 2-1 (player A 2-0, player B 0-1)

Also, this is by sets? Because idk if it's just me, but it seems like Wolf gets character CPed fairly often in tournament >_>

I so wouldn't have lost to Arrows if I hadn't been forcing myself to use high tiers.
You also switched to MK for game 2 against my Lucario. Admittedly, had you stayed I was going to CP you to either Frigate or Cruise, so I guess that was smart.

Next time, Arrows, you will lose to my Sheik.

*facepalm*
Okay... I'll be waiting then..

I went metaknight cause I didn't feel like going to cruise, but I'm perfectly fine with going to frigate.
And please don't make dictations on whether or not a player will or will not lose to you; it's very arrogant and quite insensitive. It also belittles my win and is overall just disrespectful. That being said, I wish you luck against me next month and may the best man win.

And luminoth: how on earth did you beat him on fd....!? Did he massively screw up or something? o.o Dang....

He didn't screw up, I just know how to get around Falco's cg. I really don't find Falco to be a counter for us at all. FD may be Falco's best stage, but we can camp him just as well as he camps us. Plus, Wolf's air speed and spacing ability really makes it pretty easy to avoid his cg up until 40-50%.
