Meet Meta Knight

I uploaded a video I made of Meta Knight fights throughout Kirby games. Some of the quality was lost and the video resized, but you get the picture! I think it turned pretty well, and the music is cool.

Also if you noticed the clip showing Revenge of the Meta Knight and were confused, let me clear up a misconception.

The Meta Knight that Sakurai designed was in fact a badguy, a rival to Kirby who would pose as threat throughout the games. However, as the anime made his role out to be a helpful one, Hal/flagship decided to do so as well. This was not Sakurai's intension, and in all the games Sakurai designed personally he did not help Kirby. In fact, in Superstar, he was dead set on killing Kirby.

The Halberd's appearence, his moveset, and appearence are from Revenge of the Meta Knight. This is decent evidence backing Meta Knight's role being that of an antagonist in Subspace Emissary. Possibly serving the Ancient Minister as its best henchman, or maybe he IS the ancient minister... who knows?

Either way, here is an indepth history of the Meta Knight.

HISTORY OF THE META KNIGHT

In his debut role, Kirby's Adventure for the NES, Meta Knight and his henchmen served as the elite force in Dedede's guard.
In every world, Meta Knight would halt your progress and he would summon his men to fight you. He was the last boss before Dedede, making his final encounter all the more epic. You finally get the chance to go 1 on 1 with your antagonist, who has been awaiting your arrival. You take the sword and duel your elusive rival...
The fight goes on until Kirby unmasks the foe, and Meta Knight retreats into his cape mysteriously dropping his sword and the Star rod, desparately attempting to conceil his identity. What secret is Meta Knight so desperately attempting to hide from Kirby?

In Kirby Superstar, Meta Knight get's his own title, and as the main villian. Revenge of the Meta Knight.

Metaknight is unpleased with the life style of Dreamland.. The people are lazy and carefree, Metaknight plans to instill order in this land, and gathers his men and constructs an aerial fortress, the Halberd. (Interestingly: A Halberd is a battle spear, a pretty wicked name for airship )

Kirby riding on his trusty warp star apposes this coup! Kirby infiltrate the Halberd, but Meta Knight's crew sees him as a minor threat. However, he advances quickly, and Metaknight repels him by ordering them to fire off the jets.
Kirby returns on his friend Dynablade, who gets shot down on entry, but Kirby manages to board. Kirby vailiantly fight's off Meta Knight's army single-handedly. Metaknight does not under-estimate him, and orders his men to defeat him at all costs.

Kirby's courage is too strong for them, and he manages to blow up the ship's engine by using its own lazers against itself! The ship plummets toward the ocean! Out of loyalty, Meta Knight's men make a final stand against Kirby before evacuating the doomed vessel. Metaknight and the captain are all who remain left on the Halbred. Meta Knight challenges Kirby, attempting to subdue him before evacuating. The battle is rough, but kirby manages to unmask Meta knight, but Meta returns to his cape... hiding his idenity... concluding the battle.

Kirby mounts his Wheelie bike, racing to escape the impending collision... Metaknight, returns remasked and infuriated, bent on taking Kirby down with the ship! He sprouts devilish wings, and chases Kirby down. Kirby manages to leap from the ship and onto a cliff. Stopping to observe the Halberd's demise. What became of Metaknight? Who is he? These thoughts filled Kirby's mind as he rode off into the sun-set.

...
Here ends Metaknight's career as a villian, with the anime making him out to be a hero. Hal decides to follow the plot of the TV show for its GBA releases, and the transition is relatively seemless, as Sakurai kept his character in the dark, going for a mysterious approach.

Note that Sakurai did leave Hal in 2003, trusting the making of Kirby games to Hal/Flagship.

In Kirby and The Amazing Mirror, an evil mirror version of Metaknight replaces Metaknight as Kirby's rival. Kirby is able to defeat this imitation with the help of the real Meta Knight, who gives him the legendary sword "Master".

...

With Brawl's inclusion of the Halbred and Metaknight's confirmation as a character, it is certain that he will have a major role in Subspace Emissary. A friend or foe, true to Meta Knight's nature, we are still left in the dark.

Hope you enjoyed this... and learned a bit. XD

Well sorta, but this is just a video I posted for you guys, so you could actually see it. And the Bio I wrote is more or less describing of the video.

Not to mention, I don't exactly agree with the things t1mmy wrote about his character. No offense and all XD

You're lacking hard evidence to support your claims here...
