Holy crap this was a lot of fun. I haven't played this much smash in a single day in years. Teams was especially hectic, what with ending up two against just me at the end of so many of the matches.

I can't wait for the videos.

Congrats on the win, man. I assume you showed everyone the pika power... or did you switch it up a little vs. n00bs?

SSB64 tourneys are too good, looking forward to hosting my own fairly soon.

And videos.... I want to see those 2v1s Kefit is talking about

Sadly, almost every match I played in was Pikachu vs Pikachu. I wanted to bust out my Mario if given the chance, but the stress of the tournament environment and the surprisingly skilled play of some of the entrants made me uncomfortable doing so.

As it is, I didn't drop a single game in the singles tournament, but there were some very close calls after it was discovered early on that I play very, very poorly on Kongo and it began being used as a frequent counter-pick against me. The moving platforms and slopes on that stage screw me up very badly.

Hopefully Jel and I will get the videos up within the next few days.

Alright, I've got the singles matches I played in up. The audio is kind of messed up, but it's not worth the trouble to try and fix.

Round one, Kefit vs Pushanka:
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hr17YL5E2IU
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKAPyCstC2k

Quarter-finals, Brax vs Kefit:
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TBfuo2X5iI
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qd28Reb6ebY

Semi-finals, Kefit vs Stuart:
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieve9pJrDZs
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zisp3ltxTt8

Grand Finals, Kefit vs Brax:
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhVX3ND5LJ8
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dO8p7NEXHF0
Game 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXK17AY89Dk

Brax and Stuart are both pretty good, and by some stroke of random bracket making stupidity they both ended up on the same side of the bracket as me. I'll get my teams matches up later tonight or tomorrow.

Hah, that game was easily the most fun I had during the singles tournament. A change of pace is a very nice thing indeed.

The most fun stuff is yet to come though :x

Yeah this is something that I'm sure you would have had alot of fun at.

are you hosting another one of these sometime?
I sure hope so. It was nice to meet more smash players out there and now that I know more players I hope this well only get biger for the next Tournament with even more players showing up. As it looks right now I will be talking to my friend that I did meet at the tournament who could set something up. As I would not be able to host this at my new home that I'm moveing to. I will keep you posted as soon as I can get something set up.

Very fun matches to watch. Lots of good combos going on too!
Brax seems good too, as you said, but his playstyle irritates me haha

I didn't know how good you were since your only matches that I'd ever seen before were some ancient vs. Isai ones.
We should p2p sometime, I'm on MSN with my username here on smashboards @hotmail.com .
Hmm just realized this sounds like it implies something about skill, but I assure you that it does not.

Team matches are up. The bolded games contain Kefit 2v1 shenanigans at the end; I especially recommend the first game of the second round.

Round one, Nick(p1)+Matt(p2) vs Sudo(p3)+Kefit(p4)
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZbNcOCfXlQ
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHE45q4olC4

Round two, Stuart(p1)+Avi(p2) vs Kefit(p3)+Sudo(p4)
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGF1SKlMAas
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a014l3PmhwA

Loser's Finals, Nick(p1)+Matt(p2) vs Kefit(p3)+Sudo(p4)
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbj7iHXC1zg
Game 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py4hqI-w9sY

Grand Finals, Stuart(p1)+Avi(p2) vs Kefit(p3)+Sudo(p4)
Game 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1VC1R1G93c

Hate to say it but I don't find these videos worth watching. Horrific lack of combos in most matches and that fox vs kirby was just.. I dunno I could have destroyed that kirby much faster with fox, I didnt see any turnaround lasers leading into pressure or enough jabs or anything, no **** tent, pivot smashing with fox...

Looks like a fun tournament though, Kefit's pikachu is impressive, I guess Ill watch a few more vids but so far aside from the pikachu stuff which is advanced-intermediate playing at best, these vids aren't entertaining.

I enjoy watching alancitu's videos, although I'm as far from being a fanboy of his as the sun is from pluto. His opponents are f***ing terrible but his combos, speed, and mindgames are freaking amazing.

Im an addict to isais videos, but when Ive seen it all over again for the 100th time I watch alancitu

rofl this vid is fking hilarious. You got owned badly even though he was drunk?

I would add Boom, Prince, Akamario, or even Maltfox to the list of highly worth watching players, although some of them have very few matches available to watch

was this like actually on the n64 or was it on the computer
This was on the N64.

looks like a fun tourny, what did you use to record these?
Yes this was alot of fun to host. As for recording I use Pinacle Sutdios on my Pc.

this was lots of fun were definitely doing it again sometime
Yeah this is something we need to look in to. To get one hosted at the U with lots more players would be alot of fun. We should see how far a head we can sign up to rent something out that way we can get a date down and stuff like that.
