With a fan-favourite game getting a remake on the horizon, the time may be right for Paper Mario to join the fold into Smash. My preferred option for a Mario RPG character in Smash may seem basic, but he has a lot of legacy since the N64.

I also considered Noah, but with how small Pokémon and FE are, I don’t know if Xenoblade is ready to jump to 3 characters just yet.

Job 116: Skull Kid

Despite his limited presence in the series longterm, his influence has been deeply felt and he dons Majora's Mask, one of the most striking images in the series. Between his dark magic abilities, the presence of Tatl and Tael and his prankster personality I think there's a lot of rich potential to play with. Midna would be a great choice, but figured I'd toss in the other side of the coin to be judged as well. And really, at the end of the day we could probably even justify two new Zelda characters.

Given we're a little short on Pokémon reps right now (only having Pikachu and the Trainer), I think it'd be pretty neat to see a new playable Pokémon on the roster - and while there's over 1000 to choose between, one that I think could be pretty fun is Hisuian Decidueye. While the original was a pretty popular candidate for Smash in the past, this new form has both the benefits of being a little more effective close-up, while simultaneously also having the capacity to use anything we need from its original. Plus, it'd be neat as a mix between an aggressive brawler but with zoning tools to create pressure, especially with projectiles like Triple Arrows or a unique take on Tackle with a little flight and those sharp, sharp talons. Probably not as hot-button in terms of fan demand, but I think this'd be fun!

Wario Alts:

1. Wario's classic plumber outfit. Yep, it's his default this time around.
2. Wario's default biker outfit.
3. A purple alt for the plumber outfit, based on Waluigi!
4. A biker alt based on Jimmy T., featuring a bright blue helmet and a red and white outfit.
5. A plumber alt that's mostly pink with elements of red - based on Captain Syrup.
6. Another biker alt, this time based on Kat and Ana - with a helmet split between orange and pink, and then a pink and blue costume.
7. A plumber alt that's red and blue, intended to be a sort of mirror to Mario's. Hey, we may as well keep this one, it fits thematically!
8. A final biker alt, based on Dribble - with a blue outfit and a green helmet, as well as slightly darker tan skin.

I really liked the suggestion of having this as an item in another thread not too long ago. While it may hamper 8-player Smash, I think it’s a neat and creative idea.

Job 120: Alpha (Xenoblade)

Spoiler: Alpha

Having a more modern boss would be nice to see. Xenoblade has plenty of options, but I think I’ll go with Alpha, hailing from Xenoblade 3: Future Redeemed.

And honestly, it feels kind of epic to see someone like Mario or Kirby take on something like Alpha. One of those things that makes Smash feel special in the first place.
